  1. This is a QPS Fruitopia layout by @Tommy c originally released as a £15 jackpot. Recently @woodsy edited the layout to a £25 jackpot.

In the video I'm playing the early program first on the layout on the left. There are 2 features on the super board where it is possible to get jackpot. The super board comes back after about £19 on 86% pay out which makes it possible to empty. On 70% it comes back after about £22 or £23 which means it takes ages to empty!

Later in the video I'm playing the later chipped program on the right. It's now not possible to get the jackpot from the features.

I’ll have a look at that tomoz! Seeing it again after so these years makes me itch for a streak!!

right click, change the number 1 to 3 and 3 to 1 and click reversed if necessary. But that’s from memory as I haven’t looked at it yet… it was happening all the time on my recent hands games and Is possibly the same thing here, is it mpu5? Or 4? In have no idea.

Ah right, I thought it was just some roms that acted like that but there must be a way to fix that in the emulator somewhere. Codfather is MPU5 but it mainly did the reel reverse spinning on some MPU4 roms and also Maygay M1.

yeah @woodsy updated the release with the correct roms for the £5 version. Strangely, the roms in the £5 version can be changed up to £25 JP, but the roms in the £25 version released can't be changed from £25, and you can only switch between 25p and 30p stake (otherwise it will error)! All fun and games but it got sorted :)

A few other machines have similar quirks in the settings. Roller Coaster £5 roms will be 64p play if you don't have configuration settings on 10p believe it or not!

@woodsy there seems to be a problem with Mortal Wombat £5 version - the £5 version is released still on 30p/£25 but when you lower it to £5 jackpot, it gives the "invalid key 4.6 error". Whats bizarre is that on the alpha display as it's booting it says 5C 10p (as it does for any other stake/JP you try to set) but the error only disappears when you put it back to £25JP at 25p or 30p play. So i'm not sure this is a runner at £5 unfortunately

There is definitely a £5 version of Mortal Wombat because I know of one in an arcade.

  5. It's sad to hear that you decided to delete your channel. It was enjoying listening to your commentary and explanations on how the different machines played. As you say, it brings back memories from the past.

Thanks for all the effort you put into the channel producing all those videos.

That really is bizarre, why on earth doesn't the machine even remotely look at what the result of a winning gamble would be?

Compensated machines are so fucked up.

It's a strange one that's for sure. At one point in the video I win the gamble for £25 but the machine totally caves in and just goes straight to Lock N Load in the middle!

  7. Here is a long game play video of the recent Lock N Load layout by Woodsy. It is possible to empty the machine on this program by collecting the highest win possible on each board but it can take a long while. The main thing to remember is the machine will not block the big wins when you gamble on nudges. The gamble can lose of course, so you won't get the big wins every time they are there.

That's just great to see, i remember the blue pink panther doing this years ago. Never been able to recreate it in mfme, it won't even roll one jackpot in.

It has to be £8 tokens jackpot and 5p stake to do the roll in jackpots. The Pink Panther roms on £8 tokens are only 20p stake as far as I can see. There doesn't seem to be any on £8 tokens 5p stake.

There are a few others on your channel @logopolis that I might give the same treatment if that's OK with you :)

As with this one, I'll give full credit to you and link to your video and channel, to make it clear I'm just doing a 'narrated version' of your video as it were.

That's fine because there are a few other methods or empties that you could cover. I think Fruitopia was one that would benefit from your commentary and also Ready To Rock. Both of these could do with a £25 Dx to be honest. The only thing that needs to be changed in the layout is the jackpot amount from £15 to £25. I don't think the other wins change as far as I can recall.

Hitting the legendary CRITICAL ERROR state on a Barcrest where it basically drops on its arse and screams that it wants its mummy.

Thanks to @Tommy c for the layouts featured :)

Cheers for the shout out in the video! It was good for this method to have some commentary because it might have been a bit difficult to figure out what was actually going on without the narration.

  11. There were a few good episode titles in the Tom Baker era. Especially his final story!

I have seen Roger Delgado in Doctor Who reruns on Sky in the past. He was a great enemy to Jon Pertwee's Doctor. They had a sword fight in a prison where The Master was incarcerated. He was trying to work with Sea Devils in that episode. Unfortunately he died in a car crash around the time he was in Doctor Who.

I have a large collection of Doctor Who books from when I used to buy them as a kid. A few of them are quite rare from what I gather. The Wheel In Space for example only ever had about a thousand books published and I got hold of one in the 1990s.

    Is it the BWB remix?

    What rom specifically?

    J

It's clu5p8 which is program 2.0. I downloaded it from planetemu but I'm sure it was listed with the wrong program number on there. Switch 5 on makes it 5p stake whereas leaving the switch off makes it 10p stake.

A few of the Cluedo roms actually say Cluedo BWB when you open the side door, but this rom doesn't say that which means it must be Maygay.

I remember years ago, it was either a coronation street or eastenders maygay rolled in 3 £6 jackpots in succession, If i had done this method, would more have rolled in?

Great video, mental that a 5p machine could do that!!

Probably would have given more than 3 roll in jackpots. If you collect a win then it stops the run. Of course in the end it might force a win as it did in the video but that probably was the end of the run.

  14. This is a run on the 5p stake £8 token jackpot Maygay Cluedo. The machine rolls in 7s multiple times but meanwhile you must not collect any wins, otherwise the runs finishes.

I loaded the 5p program rom into the 20p layout by Tommy c which means the decals will be wrong. The run actually came round after about £20 from ram reset. I expected a lot more credits to be played. Other programs such as 10p or 20p stake won't do this run.

there's a fair few clones of roller coaster with different manufactures doing the rounds

We have a Roller Coaster £5 jackpot rom which plays a nice game. I loaded it into the £8 layout but the decals are wrong of course. The £5 jackpot Roller Coaster would be a good layout to create.

Unfortunately I couldn't find the £5 rom for Snakes And Ladders. There were a lot of them around in arcades so it shouldn't be too difficult to find. I think Sidewinder had a £4 jackpot but I couldn't find the rom for this either.

did you know the meters weren't set on this they should be meter1-1, meter2-1

meter 3 n 4 added for the £8 token option

see image below also would it be ok to upload the amended version to this topic as made the correct red/blue seven symbols and added gradients etc to reels

    Untitled.png

I noticed this with the meters a while back when I was going through the JPM Impact roms. Do you also need to go into effects and add token slides? Or is it that not necessary.

  17. Also the swap 3 holds works as it does on many JPM machines. The machine spins 3 and 8 when the value is there and it's not blocking past £5. Question mark bonuses also mean the machine is not blocking and spinning 3 and 8. It won't give a question mark bonus if the machine isn't spinning 3 and 8. The 3 steps to 12 and the 8 steps to 1 which is an explanation of why the machine spins those numbers when it's ready.

Look out for Super Hold which is the 2nd feature because the reels can often be good wins or red lines. The go all the way board which @woodsy mentions is when all the exchanges light up. You can nudge wins on the way up or exchange across and it won't affect the board being jackpot.

  18. Here's a similar kind of bug in the program to Caesars Palace. This time it's Global Spotted Dick but it involved plugging the machine. The early programs clocked up wins into the bank in 10p increments. You needed to reset the machine when it was clocking up a win into the bank. Hopefully it comes back on with an odd amount in the bank. Then all you had to do was finish the remaining credits and collect the win and you get a £552 bank!

Cheers for posting a video of this @logopolis, I remember it from back in the day and I've always hoped some early ROMs turned up for this game as it was real treat to play on original software.  This bug reminds me of something similar on the green QPS Crazy Fruits rebuild when they first came out - one of the banana features used to mess up and the bank would count up to the moon.

There was another bug on Caesar's Palace early ROMs where you could lock the game up on the Lucky Legions feature, and when it was power-cycled it would come back on RAM cleared.

God knows where it gets the 42,000 number from - must spill over into some code for something else.

One day maybe people will post videos dissecting these bugs step-by-step with a full explanation, a bit like the split-screen bug on PacMan, or the impossible level on Donkey Kong!

I didn't know about the Lucky Legions bug. The Crazy Fruits one does ring a bell.
