Yeah I remember seeing the adverts and being a little upset and sensing an end to an era and that soon everything will change for me, I would be leaving school soon and I just wanted to pause time.....
But, the 8 bits had a decent run for their money, the ZX Spectrum and C64 had game releases well into the 90's, that's really not too shabby. Also the Atari ST was available in 1985 and had games released for it, the Amiga 500, 1987.
I just feel blessed that I was a kid growing up in the 80's, such a brilliant era.

you needn't of worried, when you started seeing these ads in 1985 the 8bits still had nearly 10 years of life left in them before obsolete!
