Great stuff Al... I agree with you about Empire machines, I think they are complete and utter garbage..... I do really like Ghost Train though, by far one of their best machines and did play somewhat like Roller Coaster. High Spirits, I'm pretty sure could be emptied from the Rollin Round feature, I think it was true skill and you could hit the jackpot if you were good enough. A guy in our local arcade used to hammer it when it was on 10p £8 cash jackpot. Not really had a go in the emulator I find it such a frustrating game. This and the Gambler are basically poor 'Barcrest - Jewel in the Crown' clones.
If you think these are bad though, you ought to try 'Global - Bangin' Away'.... wow, that machine is an extremely poor clone of Psycho Cash Beast, terrible machine, the anti-force coding in that is tight, though it could be emptied on an earlier chip.... which we do have.

all what you sent me minus mfme5+ layouts fit onto about 5 dvd's that included the roms etc.
if he desperately wants the entire collection then your dvd service is the way too go. but it all depends what he intends doing with it all once he's got it??
He probably just wants the entire fme library of layouts, at least he will have a collection to search through so he will be more up to date with what is available. Have you tried the search function over at FruitEmu, it's terrible. Sometimes you search for part of the fruit machine name and it won't flag anything, you search for the whole name and it will find it?

There no harm in asking to get an MFME layout DVD, contact Geddy, pay a small donation and you will have an up to date collection. It's a great way of populating your MFME library, especially as some layouts seem elusive or just haven't been uploaded, older layouts I'm talking.
Note that a lot will need converting to V5/V6, though you can still use an older version of MFME if you wanted.

OK mate, no worries, I don't think I have an up to date rom set to be fair.
J

It always depends on whether or not the roms are available. I can tell you for sure that Jailbirds roms aren't available at the minute. Also it's possible Road to Riches is SC6? Which is currently an unemulated tech.

Someone does offer an MFME DVD service that will contain every released layout for mfme.

Got mine sorted in the end, but I put in my password incorrectly, it locked me out of my account and it must have triggered something as I then received a reset password email
Not sure what CH can do if his is an old email account, maybe try contacting from the contact link?

Me took CH, I sent for email password recovery but it never gets sent to my email?

I think it is redirecting to Pete radio station website. Temporarily I would imagine.

Not sure if I'm allowed to upload the layout, but it's available at dadsfme. You might need to sign up to download it.
Here is a link to the layout, (as long as you are registered)

Hey, Fjustices. I enjoy your channel, always find old legal emptiers interesting ... bit of an obscure one, but wonder if you could do Astra Classic Slots. We have the version that can be emptied already running in emulation. A mate of mine used to do them, not seen him in many years now but I think it was something to do with a setup for bars that was free. Worth doing a vid even if you don't do the emptier as I'm sure someone will know the correct method.

I was building a cab with 2 x 10" touchscreens, mfme didn't support multi screen at this time and ended up scrapping the project.
Not sure if mfme supports multi screen in the later releases.

It can be difficult to resist... remembering bad experiences is a good way to sway yourself away from gambling. Have you considered self exclusion? Might help. The agony is unbearable as like any addiction you need that fix. Do you have any hobbies, what line of work are you in?

I was reading that GP's can help with gambling addiction by prescribing Naltrexone. I don't know a great deal about it, I was just skim reading. Might have it's own long term affects but it could potentially help with that gambling craving and the continuous gambling cycle and if it does stop that euphoric buzz then maybe gambling might lose it's appeal?

Anyone who suffers with any kind of destructive addiction is never truly freed from it's clutches. It's rare, but even today when I go to an arcade I feel that euphoric excitement of gambling wash over me. Getting into a non destructive pass time/hobby is the key.

The stone cold truth of where gambling addiction can take you. Thanks for the video Al. I can certainly relate to those dark times. It's amazing how even when you have hit rock bottom you still find a way to gamble.
I read that gambling addicts are wired in a way that their brains release fewer endorphins than 'normal' people.
Heres a line from a favourite song of mine that I can really relate to, the song is about addiction, heroin in this case.
'Now I'm reversing down a lonely street
To a cheap hotel where I can meet the past
Pay it off and keep it sweet'

Definitely, I really enjoy the commentary it makes the videos in my opinion. Keep up the great work Al

I'd say it's not that the emptier was coded in, more that it's just a case of there not being any code to deal with this specific combination of play. Fruit machine programmers use high level languages for coding these days and it's very likely, if not law, to have the code commented throughout.

I can safely say I never pissed myself.
I was lucky to get out of gambling, I'd always had a decent job, but that was suffering from my destructive lifestyle. I had two separate lives, gambling and the fun social stuff with women, drugs, music etc... I was an indie kid at heart, but gambling won out every single time and I lost a lot of the good friends... I'd say that's my only regret looking back.

Photographing is a decent alternative even if you did left side and then right side with the flash on. Easy enough to stitch afterwards.

I spent most of the 90's as a hardcore gambler, sometimes even roughing it in seaside resorts just to keep on gambling, usually when we couldn't get a B&B I might add, it was sometimes difficult to get a B&B when there are 2 or 3 young kids. Some of these were great times though, gambling all day, clubbing it till 3am then dossing around till the cafe opened and then doing it all again.

You can't actually purchase any versions of CS from Adobe any longer, at least not in the UK. It's all Creative Cloud. I got a second hand CS5 from ebay with installation disk etc for around £80. I then purchased a CS6 upgrade fairly cheaply.

There aren't many DX'ers in this scene anymore, I'd say most use some version of Photoshop. So if you are looking for possible future help when creating a DX, it's probably a good idea to use a version of that... but you could try GIMP, it will most likely be set out in a similar way, or even use paint.

I'd like to see a Degsy vid review of the excellent Electrocoin machines... Labyrinth, Sphinx, Pyramid. These were perfect machines for a casual player who was looking for some decent playability. They have possibly the fairest feature board out there and the synth sound is just epic. These machines were true AWP of their time in my opinion.
