Brief timeline of the last decade

Hi everyone, hope you've been keeping well for the decade or so since i last posted on any sort of FME site.

Out of nostalgia i thought i'd revisit some FME this weekend and couldn't find any of the old places so assumed that maybe it had died out - quite a bit of googling later and by fluke managed to stumble across here - weirdly nostalgic but also great to see a lot of the old faces still around - very strange to see the same folk who probably  best remember me being about 14 years old begging for tips on fruit machines.

So if someone would be so kind, can they briefly give me timeline of whats happened in the last few years what major breakthoughs, in the pipeline etc- the last time i was around i think think  reds were being talked about but the encryption couldnt be fathomed.

Can't believe we now have 35 reds and 70 DONDs etc!

Hey, welcome drpepper, welcome back. Your name is very well remembered from Fruit Forums days. That forum still exists, but pretty much is dormant, if you fancy a trip down nostalgia lane http://www.fruitforums.co.uk/vb/index.php

Basically after the leak of v9.4 and 10.1 back in 2006, we had a few years of scorpion 4 and mpu5 releases, but after a couple of years, the scene become more fragmented and eventually production of layouts, virtually run to extremely few and far between. There was no public emulator progress after v10.1 was leaked. Then in September 2016, Wizard posted on The Mecca (I see you are a member https://www.fruitemu.co.uk/ib/index.php?/user/427-drpepper/ ) a thread about a possible release. https://www.fruitemu.co.uk/ib/index.php?/topic/17887-gauging-opinion-on-a-new-mfme-release/

Naturally there was a real buzz for it and many old time faces suddenly posted and MFME v5.0 was released Halloween 2016. It's been non stop since, V5.1, v5.2 and now v6.0 is pretty much all you need to play everything from Electromechanical machines to machines released around 2013/2014.
