  1. If you're pretty sure the roms came from a Line-Up machine you might need to reconfigure your rom reader/writer again and try a different setting.  It should be 512kb, if it's Line-Up.  I've never had a rom reader/writer, so I would struggle at the beginning as well, mate. :)

  2. Absolutely brilliant video, mate.  Loved every second of it.  The frustration, and disbelief in your voice further into the video made me chuckle a lot.  I won't say why as that would spoil the video a bit. :)

I've got a theory as to why the machine was playing like that, but I'll wait a day, or two, to see if my theory is correct.  I need to check it on the emulator first.  I have had it give me four, or five repeats on the jackpot, but that was really early on.  Something like £150, in.  Most of the good repeat runs I've had have been off £1, and £1.20.  JPM's tend to play much better from a factory reset for some reason.  To make the punters think the new machine in the arcade is the muts-nuts I would guess.  Once they've had a good bit through them they tend to tighten up, in my experience.

Definitely a group-effort this machine.  Paulgee could easily have just sold the machine on and nobody would have noticed, but he had the good grace to contact me and ask if I wanted to get the machine emulated for posterity.  Jonno, Paulgee and SPA are true FME legends and deserve all the praise in the World. :)

  3. Fantastic video as usual.  Massive thanks for doing them, mate.  The enthusiasm you still show is inspiring. :)

FME is indeed a marvel.  Even after 17 odd years, and counting.  Still a bit to do as well, so I'll be around for a good while yet.  One little thing.  The version of Road Hog you were using in the video was the older version I did.  I updated it for MFME6.1 in this thread here: http://www.fruit-emu.com/forums/topic/55526-mfme6-layouts/

I updated all my older layouts in that thread as well, so if you need any other layout I did for a future video you can get them all in the thread above. :)

I've not got round to putting it back up yet :) - FME Archive is planned but will take a bit of work now to update it to a modern forums version so will have to wait a while

Ok, mate.  You know best   Liked reading-up on old FME threads from time, to time.  :)

  5. Huge thanks for doing all the forums' background work, mate.  Keeping all the forums up-to-date must be a pain, so massive thanks for doing the neccessaries for all this time. :)

I don't know if Fruit Forums is on the same setup as all the other forums, but it's down for me.  I know folks hardly ever post there anymore, but I thought I would let you know that it's down.  Are there any plans on bringing back the old FME Archive site?  It's been offline for years.

I wouldn't say so, mate.  Maygay fliers are notoriously bad, and this one is no exception.  What makes it worse is the picture of the machine is taken way too far back, making the resolution of the machine really small unfortunately.

I guess they called it soccer because it's strange but even Sky have soccer in a lot of their programs about Footy.

Don't know why but always had it in my head, Football wouldn't be your thing Ploggy.

Yeah.  Soccer Saturday springs to mind.  Anytime I see, or hear the word 'Soccer', I just think of an American saying it.  Can't help it.

Quite like football actually.  Liverpool's my team.  Been following them since the early eighties.  Sammy Lee, Ian Rush, Alan Hansen and the like.  Good times. :)

Alex.  The reason you got the alarm on the Noel's House Party layout was because you put a token, in, on an all-cash rom.  The rom you were using was on £6 all-cash for some reason.

  8. Loving these videos, mate. :)

Coronation Street was one of my all-time favourite Maygay's I have to say.  Closely followed by That's Life, and Monopoly.  I never saw an Eastenders where I lived, so didn't build-up a fondness for that particular machine, but I can understand the love for it.

Here's a picture of That's Life to get the retro feels going.  Picture cam from riche100 originally. :)

  9. Hearts of Gold is on the back-burner as well, mate.  Wasn't that much interest in it when I made a WIP on it, so I lost a bit of enthusiasm for it.  Might pass it on to someone else to finish off.  I know DAD was interested in it, so maybe a project for him; if he wants it. :)

If not, I'll get it done at a later date.  Don't want to sit on it if it's a machine you want to see DX'ed.

Perhaps there is some confusion here. The machine although shown in an Electrocoin cabinet, is not the proconn version it's a Scorpion2.

You can see the cabinet isn't right as in attract mode it shows the Cancel button should be on the left.

I'm guessing the rom used on the SMN layouts probably came from a MKI Electrocoin cabinet originally, because that cabinet has the cancel button on the far-left; but I've never seen a SMN in a MKI cabinet so I'm not sure.

  11. That looks cool, mate.  Didn't know you could use two reels with the same reel number!  That means machines like Caesars Palace can have the reel lamps done properly.

Small video of Big 50 running here:
