I didn't know that the actual roms are .bin and hex files

Nope I don't get it. I've downloaded roms and they are in .bin and hex file format. Do I have to open the .bin file to get the rom?

Is there an easier way than this?

Guys, do I have to ask for the roms and everything for each layout I download from the Legacy Layouts section? I'm confused
