Best MFME Version to use and Fruit Machines

Hi Guys

I am looking to see which is the best version of MFME for me to use now. I have some of the older versions and some older emulations but I ma looking to generally use just 1 MFME version so that I do not have multiple MFME version files clogging up my Laptop.

I am not that much of a newbie that I realise that some emulations will only work on a certain MFME version but I would like to try and get them all into one place and on one version if possible.

I also want to get ideas from you guys to see which are the best Fruit Machine emulations out there on the system so far that are the best to play for enjoyment purposes. Certain machines can be really predictable and therefore become boring after a while. You know when they are going to pay out and when they are going to be tough on you.

I am looking for that type of machine that keeps you guessing all the time as that is what I was looking for when I had my issues with fruit machine addiction back in my youth and late teens.

I also want to be as involved as I can with the creation side of things. Something I have never tried before but I am so amazed at how realistic these machines are on this site and the effort that everyone, including those no longer with us have put into making this site one of the best if not the best. I am also a member on DADS FME too and I am also amazed at the background work that those guys put into creating new machines from scratch and re-creating those that we all love. There are also some new ones that I would like to have a go on that I have never seen before (Showing my age now i guess), as I only know the old retro style and themed fruit machines.

Any ideas and advice would be so welcomed. Thanks in advance and for reading this post.

Always use the latest version of mfme going forward.  Version 20 is the latest mfme.

Depending on the layouts you have it might be a case of loading them into mfme v5 before you can load them into v20.

V20 only loads .fml layouts, .fml layouts where introduced in v5, v5 also loads older .dat layouts.  Basically you load older layouts in v5 and when you quit it updates the layout to an .fml layout.

Hi.

The best version is v20.1 which you get in the downloads section. You will need Windows 10.

Any of the machine downloads from here will work with that version.

If you have any other version of Windows then you'll need v6.1. There are less machine layouts that work with that version.

You don't have to donate but if you do you will get unlimited downloads.

I would get the emulator and download a few machines, then you can decide if you want unlimited downloads or not.

Hi There

Thanks for the invaluable help with this. Can I just ask though, if I open the older layouts in MFME 5 or 6 depending on the layout, if I want to then use that layout in MFME20, do I just click file save as so that I can get it into a .fml layout ?

Yep that's exactly how its done.  There might be some minor tweaks needed in configuration to make them compatible.  Quite often its Hopper Settings which need adjusting by unchecking the 'hoppers' tick boxes.

If you have problems, just stick a post up and we should be able to help.  :)
