Every weekends the same but thank god I’m not furloughed or worse as every day would be the same

looking at four walls or the shitty autumn weather outside, even the sons off school as they have a few cases of the Kung flu there

if I was at home all day it would do my nut in, probably get into debt by online gambling as I admit I still have a problem wheee that’s concerned but is squished a bit by limiting deposits etc, or I’d be on the tippy tappy looked at random YouTube shite or even making a layout a day and we all don’t need me flooding the scene with crap

so what’s on today? Well might live it up with a trip to Aldi then a social distance Maccy d’s then go home a mope about till Monday morning comes again lol

Well, a few years back, i dabbled with the art of brewing. Homebrewing to be more precise.

Started basic, brewing kits as most do, but there was something missing, something lacking.... The taste wasn't there or wasn't what i felt it should be.

Not long after i took the plunge into All Grain brewing / partial mashes. Stovetop (Gas burner) style.

Bought a couple of larder / undercounter fridges for the garage and control the fermentaton temps in these.

It is a patient , heavy learning process to make a good brew, i have found that out but am now satisfied with the results and consistency.

Anyway, later today, I will be bagging the latest brew up into 10 litre bags. The bags in turn go into a cardboard boxes and stored.

Tomorrow, i will make up another and get it in the fermentor... Oooooh Happy Christmas!

The bag has a connector which connects via tubing to a hand pull beer engine (same as in the pubs) which i bought second hand and refurbed.

Other beers i make go into recycled bottles, gathered from local pubs and friends (over 600 now, all in crates!)

Thank god i started this and got a good stock! Pubs closed, pffft who needs them? Haha.

Just saying, most times the process is time consuming but to me it is worthwhile at the end when it gets poured down the throat.

I've sold one machine and swapped another, both buyers coming tomorrow morning, so I'll give the machines a last play, clean and bulb check later.

Good news is one I'm swapping for (all being well with tomorrows plans) is one of my all time favorites. Probably not a 'classic' machine but I plan to scan the reels in and get some photos for a nice 4K DX at some point as the existing layouts are old and flyer based.

Otherwise I'm taking mum to see my sister shortly, and spending some quality time with Slotscat a.k.a. Lord Teddington the ridiculously floofy Persian cat. That means he'll probably be asleep on the desk while I play some retro games :)

My weekend adventure is a slow burner....   I’m waiting in for a customer to pick their repaired laptop.  Charge port replaced.  Then I’m heading out to purchase a usb WiFi adapter.  From here I’m paying a visit to my local B&Q to purchase some coach bolts for my mame panel. I’ve just received my Suzo Happ trackball so need to get it into my mocked up panel.   Later this evening I’m going to be setting mame up for dual screens, game bottom screen, marquee top screen, that should be fun.

Hoping to play some Crystal Castles and Marble Madness this evening.  Might have a drink, all hinges on how many problems I encounter today!   Might just end up drinking on the sofa binge watching Netflix ;)

@slotsmagic Yes there will be some cat action for me too.  I love cats, ours is possibly a Norwegian Forest Cat, so fluffy and she’s such a pretty looking cat.  She’s getting on now, 15 years we’ve had her, 6 months old when we got her.

Lord Teddington is 3 years old now, he's a very placid cat apart from a few minutes a day when he goes utterly bonkers. Generally he's happy to just curl up and watch what I'm doing, unless he's in the room when I'm eating in which case he's a pain the arse. Other than that he's awesome!

Interesting about the MAME stuff, I've got a spare monitor and Raspberry Pi and am tempted to buy a flat-pack cabinet, buttons e.t.c. as a project. An MFME cabinet will come at some point, probably when one of my machines dies. Normally I just let Mr Smashy (a.k.a. the sledgehammer) deal with them and take the wood to the tip, but really do fancy an MFME cab.

This sounds terrible but if I ever parted ways with my wife, as long as I had the cat I think I’d be ok.  Cats have that calming affect, ours is so friendly and likes to get on you all the time, if I’m lounging on the sofa it won’t be long before she’s asleep on me, after she’s done the comfy dance that is.  I used to do a lot of reading about cat behaviour and usually when they are going mental round the house it’s because they are getting rid of excess energy so they can sleep, sounds about right to me.

I do like dogs but cats can take care of themselves. Dogs require so much more attention, they really are like kids that never grow up :)

Yeah a miserable day here in the midlands. Started off with a walk and got drenched as I was coming back. Did some cleaning ... boring !! I know. Went out in the car and did a bit of shopping.

Just eaten a chilli - soon be time for the weekly zoom call with mates that's been going on since April - along with plenty of booze of course 😀

Also have a cat - when I am on the settee he jumps straight on me and would sit there all day but as I will be in the other room the smart money says he'll jump on the seat behind me.

You’ll know if you’ve pissed them off.  Cats will thrash their tail side to side to warn you of their current mood.  If you continue they will resort to attacking you.  I like that about cats, they are like us in many respects but they are in control for sure ;).  Our cat is at least.

Mate I know, Mother and myself had one for near 18 years, she was a house cat and never went out but was very content staying indoors.

Her name was Pushkin (Russian) don't ask😏

Spent yesterday with my two fluff bundles.  Seal point Birman, and Tortie Birman.  both little monkeys.  Last night; usual Saturday night, curry and music.

Not doing much today, looking out the window watching the traffic on the ECML, waiting for the 37 later.

Norwegian Forest, wow, that must take some brushing with a coat like that!
