Another update on the casino cab - have made a system that allows me to draw with curves and lines to describe a outline including curves per source MFME layout, so the curved topbox no longer has the black squares.  There are still very faint artifacts around the edges of the original rectangle though.  Also, the reels now visible correctly:

Needs more fettling, but getting there... :)

After I've finished up some minor issues on the Mazooma Casino, I was going to move onto this Maygay one next:

... and do the same process of various tweaks, processing, making a single test layout, bugfixing.

I will save the Astra 3 player for when the time is right further down the line, as there is no support for multiplayer layouts/cabinets yet... and there will be a lot of extra design/programming required to make this work... but I'm very grateful, it looks great!  And it will get used, just maybe in like 6 months... when I get to that stage.

The future is looking bright with all these new cabinets, I can't commit to it, but it'd be nice to get to the point when I can rebuild all machines plus some new ones in your new cabinets before Xmas, and push out a patch :) 

Keep up the good work Spidy, you are really hitting it out of the park with these cabinet models!

Haha yeah that one is currently completely fooked -I think the top reel is a band reel, and I haven't made band reels yet - so when it starts up it finds it's missing a whole bloomin' reel and quite justifiably calls it a day :) 

To be honest, seeing it there like that - it does kind add to the dingy arcade realism!

Thanks bud!  Not directly usable with the lighting, but great resolution, so should still come in handy for high detail :)

lol sorry I was a bit wasted earlier when I said these wouldn't be directly usable due to lighting :) I forgot I've already got a way in mind so I can use lit and unlit images for badges directly, so these can go in as lit for direct rendering - thanks again bud!  :)

Couldn't sleep so been working on this since like 4am - I'm going to need an afternoon nap later!  :) 

Been a few more issues (inverted normals that wouldn't flip on some elements, along with various standard issue) with this one, but have managed to solve.. so starting to make some progress now, it's in Unity at a roughly proportional overall scale (still need to do various scale tweaks in the model) and drawing most of the polygons:

Hopefully next update I'll have it all internally scaled (plus overall, it's ~2cm too tall at present), and drawing it's interior sides/backs... :)  Amazing to have this source of cabinets models, thanks again @Spidy21982

Another awesome model Spidy!  Thank you so much for these :D  I have been busy with some real life stuff, but hoping to get back onto doing scaling on the Maygay cabinet soon, and then get a game into it.

It will be crazy next patch release with so many different cabinets!  Great work man :)

Right, I think the approximate vertical internal scaling is now about done (button panel raised up), that one was very fiddly!  :)

Looks fantastic. But these cab was a nightmare for me because of my partially missing 3d knowledge 🙂 all these riffles right and left setup by hand ..... i know (now.....)it gets a better way to do this but its done and looks good and that is what counts. Have fun with it. Next one will be a scorp4 mazooma cab its about half way done. Maybe 2-3 days 🙂

You did great man :)  This cabinet with all the curves and those riffles on the left and right, it's a really detailed and unusual cabinet... simple straight lines are much easier!

Good luck with your next model - and big thanks again for all your hard work these, they really are so very useful to the project! :D

Little WIP vid - still plenty to do, but nice to see Star Wars showing signs of life in the new cab :)  Great music on this one!

Quite a bit still to sort out with this conversion - mainly the bottom glass/buttons... plus a few layout-related things that need fixing in the converter have come up with this layout... getting there though :)  (Squashed number reel is an issue that will be fixed later, there's a whole thing needs doing for reel overrides)

Three of your converted models next to each other - it's the Spidy cab casino! :) 

I'm hoping to do one or two more of your cabs after this one, then I'll have to focus some of the remaining work on process optimisations, so I can try get a patch out before Christmas, with these new test games in (plus reel lamps and bugfixes).  Then I can look at building lots of games into these new cabinets :D

Well - I've been working on the curved Horizon cabinet, and I think this is going to have to wait until several processes are redone... I could patch this up, but that would be wasting time doing things that will be redone differently, as really what this needs is a better way for me to alpha mask the background off per panel, and also potentially looking into the 3d buttons idea.  All stuff that will take significant time to develop (3d buttons were kinda the 'end game' really, but quick workarounds will do for most cabinets - just not this one) :)  

Star Wars looking actually worse with more work:


So Star Wars will unfortunately have to stay looking a bit dodgy for now unfortunately (I may leave it tucked away in a corner in the patch) - but with Xmas looming I've a lot of work to do on this yet before a patch can be made - so I think the safest option now is to move back to finishing work on reel lamps/leds, more process optimisations, then a full rebuild of each machine so far, then bugfixing, and a debug mode to try help one user who is having issues scraping MFME.  Hopefully I can get all that done within the month... :)
