It won't be too long before some of your layouts get picked up by the process, you layout creators (and the classic creators who organise the base layouts) are FME superstars!  :)

I have a plan for the future Credits section;
Firstly it'll need more work on the layout artist system - it's currently just a simple text field, but it will ultimately be an 'alias matrix' internally (though hidden to protect anonymity as some changed their usernames for stealth reasons).  Then the credits section will show the DX layout artists, sorted in descending order of number of layouts currently implemented in AS - so it will always be live and correct, I won't have to manually update it.

I suspect @vectra666will nail the top spot, he's a layout making machine lol :)

Also, there may be a system (needs more planning) to allow a similar matrix (or shared) for the 'Classic' artists whose work provides the foundation for the DXs.  So a machine will show DX and Classic artist (if not straight-to-DX / unavailable), plus ability to click through to see a list of machines for a single artist.  All in the concept stage, but definitely planned for later.

thanks bud that’s amazing! Tbh if I can get one in there I’d be delirious!! I have used high resolution images where I could but I’ll focusing on the gaps more than anything whilst still very much learning the process. The two that I know are of good enough quality to work in A.S so far are club Caesar’s palace and mortal wombat, they’re both made from high res images. The rest are the best of the images available for each machine I’ve made. If you could be so kind as to add them to my request list please I’d be grateful, I have no idea if the cabinets are ready made for A.S yet and I also do not ignore the low priority my request is! and rightly so! I don’t want to seem pushy about it, I just would be grateful to have them listed for the time that suits you!! Thanks bud.. only addition to that point is did roller coaster make it through the stages to make the next patch or planned for? Once again please don’t think I want to place an order I just can’t thank you enough and put into words the respect I have for your efforts!! Thanks

I've added them to the request sheet and done the preliminary check, blocks are:

Club Caesar's Palace - requires JPM Electra cab
Mortal Wombat - requires cab from Impulse manufacturer, has disc reel

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VtMkjI0R3fnQE3ueasZNUrVk2DltPRjZFSPTPgYVQoA/edit?usp=sharing

So they won't be happening for a while... however, the Rollercoaster is actually in progress, as we have  JPM Vogue cab :)

Little update :) Been fixing bugs, but also made the 'tall' variant of the Barcrest cabinet (officially called the 'Highline' cabinet according to a Club Tropicana flyer) - here's first test of Club Adders & Ladders @Reg, first machine to use the new cabinet:

(On the feature board the segment alpha display shows issues, this is known about, got a quite a few issues to sort with alpha displays).

Big thanks to @Spidy21982 as always for the base 3d models we are now using for these new cabinets :)

No timeline on this, as probably need to get new settings menu system done... and a very busy week next week, then Xmas... but these new machines (in Vogue / Highline cab) are also being worked on :) :

Oh, and Indiana Jones should be working again in the next patch update :)

Good th see te taller barcrest . It was the next on my to do list. 🙂 and Nice to see some germans in the list 🙂

greetings spidy

Thanks, these look awesome! :D

I'll have to do some research, as I've no idea how these work! ...do we know if the lightbulbs on these are ROM-controlled - and so only supported on specific machines?  Or are they independent generic units you can fit to certain cabinets?

I found one on top of a Genesis cabinet here:
image.thumb.png.1850233f1dee25dd02585862ef419657.png
I see the lamps cycle around the edge - I get the feeling they may run their own independent lamp boards...

I wonder was this an optional extra, the arcade owner could pay for?  I'm not sure which machines should have them... I suspect every machine would be overkill.  Certainly in UK arcades they seem to be used very sparingly, though perhaps they are used more for certain cabinet models?

I see them used more on modern casino-type video cabinets (in the few videos I've just scanned through) quite commonly:
image.thumb.png.456659d5dfa09dad13dd24dc99bdd35e.png

So any additional info anyone has about these would be welcome :)  If it was down to the arcade operator, and one might choose to have them on lots of machines, while another would choose to have none?  I saw none on the older machines in the Mr Ps tour video above.

Perhaps these would be an option the user could enable, if they wanted some placed on certain machines?

Thanks again Spidy they look very cool!  :)

Edit:  another example shot of a UK retro arcade... they are very uncommon - I wonder are they perhaps more commonly used only on the latest Scorpion 5 / 6 / MPU 5/6 type machines?

image.thumb.png.1a2656a7fb7526d977625087bd8eec02.png

If anyone has more info, on how these should be used (Ie. commonly on certain cabinet models... or only certain specific games supported them like the Genesis Classic Adders & Ladders above), please post in the thread :)

I know a few have them for the showtime feature, there’s plenty of people who’ll share the knowledge with you tomoz I reckon. There either cardboard adverts or annoying additions imo but the working for the ones with showtime wins are included in the config settings iirc

Found some very generic looking £5 jackpot ones for some Bar X type machines, clearly white card on the back:

Do many machines have a 'showtime feature'?  Sounds like those ones must be ROM controlled, even though it's just a simple ring of lights...

They were mainly on barcrest like open the box. And or the mid tech games like you have in AS would be the streak style cabinets. I think monopoly wheel of wealth layout has a showtime layout but don’t quote me on that! But anything that didn’t have wins on them was either cardboard or leds advertising the jackpot value. Showtime would be rom controlled thinking about it try open the box by barcrest. I think that’s the last time I saw one on mfme

I think most of them where only ads for decoration to anounce realy high jackpots and has only a power cable . I know 1 barcrest super jackpot topbox that you could connect directly to a machine.

This real life Mazooma Monopoly Wheel of Wealth video cab does indeed appear to have one - doesn't seem to be in MFME yet... perhaps no ROMs/unsupported tech:

Thanks for these :)  I think mainly the Rio/casino cabinets then... I'll do some more research when I have more time, to try find photos of them on machines... :)

I’ll have a look in my game manager and try to find the game I saw it on! That’s too many great layouts you see, hard to recall!!

Wow that's great, thanks very much! :)  I still have to do 'screens' but the MFME ones will be quicker than doing MAME 'properly' (removes a frame of input lag)... then I'll be able to build some of these ones - cabinet model looks great with the extra polish :D

barcrest mpu5 top boxes are run from a mux5 board controlled by the mpu (running lights around the edge on e-rio b3 machines) but some just have a backlit fluorescent behind a decal! it depended on what the arcade was wanting to spend on them I guess! The progressive S16 pots were also controlled.

Thanks for this MPU5 info!  ROM controlled lamps/7segs is good, those ones could be done with somewhat less new work :)  Probably won't be for a while as there's so much to do with standard cabs first, but they do look cool on top for later :)

@johnparker007...still, black screening.

I'm sorry if this is (and most likely) getting annoying on your end, but after a 2nd uninstall-reinstall I'm still getting the black screens.

I was originally going to ask when would be a good time to go to TeamViewer, but i realised as I was typing this message, I could try a 3rd uninstall reinstall and video the whole process. Here is that video:
