Oh wow that looks excellent!  Really nice work man :D  Thanks very much, I will work on converting that (might not be until after Xmas), and get some MAME attract mode videos in it, then I can make 'unplayable' machines that can be placed around the arcade (just for show at first) :)

Update on getting last things in for this Xmas patch - some Experimental rendering options, plus some new debug Scraper options (to try figure out why it isn't scraping properly for a user).  I think I may need to flesh out the debug Scraper options more to really figure out the problem, but it's a start on a working approach.

Looks amazing JP. Love the new post process effects. DOF was on my wish list so I am particularly pleased to see it included. Will it be possible at a later stage for you add sliders to control the level of each post process effect applied ?

Keep up the great work. I follow each update with a keen interest and am amazed at what you are achieving.

Re those experimental features (AA/Bloom/DOF) - they are indeed just early tests - and plenty of additional 'tweakable' options are planned, along with 'reset to defaults' options per effect/page/all :) Firstly I need to work on UI stuff, so I can make detailed settings menus more along the lines of this:
Gears-of-War-4-Graphics-Settings-Menu-5-740x416.jpg

So then I can have side bar, potentially top tabs, and scrollable list panes, along with headers/groups etc.  As this thing will end up rather options-heavy while it's so experimental, so the current menu system doesn't really cut it!

Specifically for DOF, I'm also planning some form of 'autofocus'... so that the focus will shift to 'whatever you are looking at'.  That'll need some tuning, and the current system for working that out is pretty crude (the collision boxes to determine what is viewed are just that - boxes) - but ultimately it should be doable I think... for those wanting that cinematic feel even when walking around.  Another option may be to only enable DOF once the machine is engaged, but not when walking around.

I'll have the "mature content" please! :)

A gta5 strip club area for vip membership card holders is not a bad idea! However I’ve had some experiences with my addiction irl that I’ve been unable to leave the machines for a promise of physical enjoyment etc. tbh many times the call of a siren has been less enticing than the sound of the pound coin hitting the payout tray!! Much to the regret of hindsight of course!! I don’t think I am going to be alone in this!!

I've put together a quick new test arcade for the upcoming patch.  It contains one of each of the (hopefully) working machines, and excludes machines that can't be played yet for various reasons.  No longer need duplicates as the collection of runners has grown enough now!

Still quite a bit to do, but I can defer some lower priority stuff for later if needs be, so still hoping to get a patch out this weekend, hopefully later on Fri night :)

Dear god! I have no words to express myself...just wow!

Seeing all the classics coming into it takes it to a whole new level of greatness. I always found myself playing the older machines really, I’m not really into modern machines although it did give you the realistic feel of walking around your average modern arcade trying to look for something half decent to play. Absolutely no offence meant to yourself or the creators of those DX layouts! (Just not my cuppa tea)

Thanks for all the effort you’ve put into creating the arcade simulator!

Bloody love it! Keep up the awesome work, Spidy too! :) Thanks again!

It's uploaded and live now - earlier than planned! :)

The building of the test build went very painlessly, so while there's some minor issues to sort out - I've decided to upload the version I'm at now... and then various bugfixes/improvements/backend work can continue over the next week or two (along with trying to diagnose a couple of issues users are having).

When you next load Arcade Sim it should do various updating processes for the first run which may take a while, but then it should be as fast as it was before to start up.

Do you want bug reports for the new machines?

Ah buggers - right thanks for letting me know guys.  Curiously that's not happening for me here, though I did only test it on the one PC so far, and thought that would be enough... I'm not sure what that is about, I will investigate as top priority to try get patched.

Sure go on then, though I'll not get chance to work on machine bugs until next week earliest... but I'll put them on the buglist :)

RIght I've found the bug - that'll teach me for only testing on my Arcade Sim dev machine!  It's trying to access a dev folder to save the new stuff that shows the reels at their last used positions when in attract.

I will sort out a fix, and build/upload a quick patch before I go to bed since it's a critical bug... bear with me :)

Really fantastic to see loving the glow effects

This is where Mfme belongs and I’m sure if Wizard was still here he’d be loving it to, just thinking what you two could’ve come up with and the mfme updates that would’ve accompanied this

long live MFME And long live the arcade simulator putting mfme well into the 21st century of gaming experiences

I've done a quick hotfix that is now live - if you restart Arcade Sim, it'll do a brief update and the freezing bug will be resolved :)
