MFME v20 List of changes

For the inquisitive among you, here is a the list of changes currently made in v20:

MPU4 Plasma board now resets when MPU4 is reset
Added support ( including effects ) for Proconn games with Pull Handle ( early 777 Heaven )
Fixed crash when drag resizing very large layouts
Fixed issue which caused background overlay to disappear when drag resizing
Sound effect wav files are now loaded when required to save memory and speed up layout loading,
  also cabinet dependent sound effects are applied immediately
Fixed issue with Star/Polygon lamp and a large number of points
Fixed crash when loaded ROMs size exceeded tech memory size
Added Pie/Wedge to Lamp shapes
Fixed bug in Electro wipers and stud positions
Added Motor/Reel Monitors to EM simulator
Numerous improvements to and bug fixes in the EM Editor and Simulator
Changed Astra A1 multiplexer rate ( fixes Little Devils )
Added preference to override layout specified sound effects and use the default ones
Fixed bug that caused lamps to become invisible in edit mode if blending was turned off
Added DP off option to seven seg block configuration
Added support for loading and manipulation of horizontal reel bands
Added Load Image and Resize to Bitmap image menu
Fixed bug that caused blended lamps and labels to lose their frames in Edit mode
Replaced the Update.exe with my own improved version with no limit on the number of updates supported
Added option to automatically check for updates on start up and also defer them
Implemented watchdog reset on Blackbox tech
EM Simulator can now run in real-time and features a speed control
Fixed bug that caused Astra Party Fruits to lock up
Speeded up disc reel drawing
Various improvements to Graphic Editor
Added Properties to Group Menu ( Only available if one item in group )
You can now use the TAB button to rotate around overlapping components in Edit Mode if one is grouped
The TAB button can also be used to iterate around components that are in a Border ( useful for editing without deleting the Border first )
Check for updates moved into the File menu
Added Test 2 button to Meter Panel
Minimise to Tray option removed ( Affected Multiplayer comms somehow )
Added option of Pressed image to Lamps that are buttons ( Create images with Normal on the left and Pressed on the right )
Fixed Select and Lasso tools in the Graphic Editor, region can be cut and/or moved and also saved.
Added option to stretch or scroll a selected region in the Graphic Editor
Copy/Paste Components, Groups and Properties now uses the Clipboard, so can be applied between instances
Fixed bug in drawing disc reels which improves performance
Added Shift C, Shift S, Shift P, Shift R andShift T to operate cabinet switches
Attempt to keep IN and OUT Meters visible by reducing the box widths when needed
Added Watchdog timeout to MPS1/2 and implemented Reset switch on Button 80
New Hopper type added for Crystal Crazy Climber to fix £1 payout issue
Added support for 10 view Bandreels ( QPS Devil Of A Deal )
Removed DES Hopper Volatile checkboxes in config as they are no longer needed
Fixed bug in S5 Stake Key setting
Fixed S5 Watchdog implementation to match hardware
Implemented ccTalk Hardware reset signal
LED 261 is no longer a default RGB type in S5
ccTalk trusted mode checkboxes in config now cleared automatically when the key is obtained from the device
Added a tool to create and configure Disco Button LEDs around a Lamp or Button
Remask Images in Lamp Creator now only remasks images that are transparent
Unpack blended lamps now crops out transparent areas
Reels now support 3 lamp colours
Convert Alpha display will now default to Green if the original alpha colour is Black
Fixed no sound issue with BWB Big 40 Poker
Fixed issue in MPU5 where LEDs 0 - 63 were not lighting up
Fixed Reflex DES Coin Mech Error 10 and DES Bill Acceptor not accepting notes
Workaround for Reflex Pay Unit Err 17
Added filter to remove flicker from RGB lamps
Fixed spurious playing of Note Rejected effect after inserting a note
Fixes for Dual Screen Mode
Added later Electrocoin Phoenix tech ( Red, White and Blue )
Fixed Security Err 41 on S4 QPS Back of the Net
Check for Updates can now update the updater if needed
Fixed sample issue in Crystal Fairground
Fixed crash in Astra SystemA1 ( Ring A Bell )
Fixed relative path issue in startup argument
Fixed issue setting component Angle to +-90 degrees
Copy Size/Position no longer also copies Angle
Added Angle to Copy options in Properties menu
Fixed Anti Aliasing issue when applying small Angles ( +-0.5 +-90.5 etc )
Added early Coinmaster SWP tech
Added Port Read/Write breakpoints to debugger for Z80/Z180 CPUs
Updated PACDrive library to latest version
Added support for Ultimarc PACLed64 and UltimateIO boards
Fixed bug in MPU5 mux board initialisation (Fixes lamps in Red Dwarf)


Yes, I have been very busy on it, perhaps that will get the donations moving again 🙂

For instance, I've just spent over £100 on parts from Ultimarc so I can test out the new supported boards.

Currently only QuizMaster has been done but will hopefully do the others over time, it's one of those techs littered with GAL's for protection.

For MFME, one of the things I've seen is an issue with bright lamps getting fixed (just as an example). I'm sure even more is being worked on.

Completely different tech. V20 is the dogs bollocks,really is,smoother faster more tools,fixes etc,just amazing work all round from the mfme master.

I'm definitely looking forward to the lamp changes for shapes and angles, let alone all the other stuff, which I won't pretend to know what most of it is.

It all adds up to the best about to get even better.
