Not a boast or a brag, but as one of the legitimate people that can honestly say that gambling was 100% cured by MFME and such when i learnt how screwed the machines were.  The tipping point and change for me was when I found how messed up Monopoly Club was that started the Fairplay campaign.

When I saw that, I saw things differently after a short time and gave a reasonable donation to Chris a few years later to say thank you.  Size does not matter, but I had worked out that it was about a five percent of what I would have lost.  Horror stories that I've never shared what twice in my life, I got into the position of wages going into my account did not cover the money I was overdrawn and I was always borrowing money until they stopped lending and then new problems.

This video hit home, it really did.  It's sad, terrible and has memories of myself smashing up a Pharoahs Gold machine when I put all my wages into for a month one afternoon and then had nothing for the month.  I also got banned from the snooker hall and found another that had equally bad machines for me.  But it hit home.  They did take my back at the original snooker hall after a few months or so to help increase their takings.  I only managed to stop when I got a part-time job their as I was crippled by debt and we were banned if we played.  This changed to always wanting the night shift as after we locked up - we would pull the machines forward and usually collect a lot of free money the whales had dropped while playing.  There was always at least £20 then - often more - we used to cash the credit cards ( remember when we had carbon strips ) and the plastic swipe machine and give a few hundred quid in £1's.

Anyway I digress...

So my thanks to all emulator authors for the work they do.  Some were not so lucky to see Stuart's Fairplay campaign.  Some are still caught on this merry-go-round for machines.

When I gamble live, I only take what I am going to lose and consider it lost - I am there for the meet up to meet friends and enjoy the slots.  I think it is absolutely horrific what some people can spend and this new era we are in is absolutely nuts.

When I saw this - there is not much that moves me - but I felt the guys pain and hope that he beats these demons.

Couldn't of put it better myself! Just playing with the emulators now and see how they swallow money its obscene!

I'm sure we all have had very bad days! We always celebrated the wins and then, 9/10 times , kick ourselves for the bad days and say I wont do that tomorrow. You know what they say about tomorrow!

DIF is a great site and will always get my support! Thankyou to the people who created it and continue to support!

You probably haven't seen them @Reg but I did a montage at the end of a couple of my videos, using clips and pictures similar to what you've linked in your post there.

Like you, when I see these people at the ends of their tethers, lashing out in misery, desperation, anger and shame, l remember back to my own worst times of addiction, some of which are documented in the Gambling Low Ebbs series.

Prepare yourselves guys, it's a long one! Right, all I'm going to say is this. MVFME V 1 and 1.1 at least didn't have this with the speech, but damn it with the V 2 release, it tells you the bloody lot! For instance, MVFME  |  Total Staked £3328.50  Won £2428.45  RTP 73.0%. a real shame it doesn't say how much you lost, but hell's bloody bells! It just shows the total you stake each game and totting up the overall wins and the RTP shows you if a machine goes batshit crazy or if it's on a real downer. That in real money I would be very disappointed. Also can't forget the game manager in MFME. Thank you all emulator creaters for making me win and lose virtual money while my bank account and loose change can be spent on things I actually need for the cost of living like bills, food and drinks, all necessities for living. Also, a big up to my youtube pal jay777 AKA Jay Stocks for selling me his Ipub2 which I've decided is going in my room and is going to be a project cab. First of all as a blind person, I've always wanted a slot machine either in my own house to play, or I wanted to be an engineer for an arcade or pub or bowling alley. Obviously bowling alleys and amusement arcades I'd also like to focus on other types of cabs like the time crisis/ghost squad gun machines and even interested in these ticket games. As a teenager, I heard engineers working on DOND's at our local bowling alley Banbury Bowl, I heard kids on a DDR euromix II and played on those 2 FPS games mentioned. As this ipub doesn't work, I'm hoping to get access with the keys to see which parts are which. Who knows, it might be able to fire up again which has been my alltime wish. I still wouldn't play for real money as I'd be using the note recycler once done. But just wanted to big up Jay Stocks here. I know he's a member of DIF but don't know his details. Plus thanks to Reg for creating DIF itself and to all the admins!  You guys, if you all read this, I am actually crying as I write it. I now do choose my words a bit more carefully and have realised the wrongs I have done on some of the most recent activity on some emulator MVFME threads. I apologise again I was just trying to say thanks so whoever it was had a thank you given. If someone could actually point me to a website or valid source about how these bpaks, bpkg's, and the IGME games are all protected, then I will bear in mind. Constant stupid AI searches from google just keep leading to my content on here or other newbies asking same thing why are bpaks so hard to get hard of why are they protected. But back on topic, thanks to all you guys for making FME what it is today. Bigging up myself here too for joining, almost 10 years now? Jeez that's insanity! Obviously it's all about the sounds the machines make for me, not the thrill of losing and winning. The only time I bet a tenner with mum is on the horses and the boat race.

I properly understood what real gambling could do to a person when first listening to chop's gambling low ebbs series. Boy, even I was emotional! The way he described it about the car and the rock. And the one about craving for food? Oh my god! Just shows the damage that can happen to people when gambling. I've heard it all on news stories too leading to suicide and everything. Before I knew about early MFME's, this is how desperate I was for a slot machine. I would sit at my yamaha PSR keyboard and play various nudge tunes of machines and drum sounds of the various machines too, usually the M1 maygays and for the astras I'd fine synth sounds and play the bom bom boms of party times. Then I'd find a rock 'n' roll type style and play the top board music. It was the closest thing I ever had before the FME scene.

So @I have finished from what you have said you might just be interested in the Ipub2 as a cab but if you want to try and get it running first here are some tips from someone (not me) who worked on the Ipubs up until recently:

No Signal message - this could be that the micro switches on the (Firefox) board aren't being pressed - you can just remove them if you cannot sort this.

Battery Low - battery may be no good on the board but there is a temporary fix - get a battery holder for 2 x AA and crocodile clip the + and - across the board battery.

Thanks Dondplayer for info I will tell my brother Tony when he comes down from Newcastle again as he's our tech guy. As for BK community, we've been through this conversation. It doesn't work in MVFME and I don't know how to fix the invalid paytable error and there'll now be no more fixes to this.

we know you can't, you just keep saying the same thing over and over!, its not going to 'magically' work the more you try it! just forget about it and move on to something that does work!

That sounds like the battery on the board has gone flat once replaced as long as its not leaked the machine should work ok, I had the same issue with a old new stock server i bought off ebay, it was giving me the red light of doom so i tried everything from you tube reddit the lot then i thought ask Gemini and right away the answer was before my eyes the Bios battery had gone flat over the 10 years it was stuck waiting to be sold. Replaced battery red light gone server booted whoo hoo

thanks all for the ipub advice. I'm not giving it up completely, it's just a lot has happened as of late I've been busy getting a new gym membership and stuff and completed my second 10 mile walk wihch I did post in the blockbusters imporium with a latest justgiving link for anyone. I unfortunately suffered from heat stroke and a lot happened this past week so yeah, lots been going on. Next time my brother's down this way I'll let him look at the messages and we may have a working ipub soon! woohoo!

PCP is most likely PCI, which tbf, isn't a great error to have. Those batteries can't be changed normally, they have to be changed while it's on!
