MVFME V1.0 Released

Recommended Posts

Firstly thanks very much to all involved in bringing us this emulator.

It certainly, will freshen up FME.

I do have an issue however. The emulator loads and the game loads, but the displays remain black. But I know the game has loaded, because I can insert notes and spin the reels etc. I hear the sound of the slot being played, but no visuals, just sounds. The two I've tried are the Monopoly one and the Wizard of Oz one.

I'm using files from Spa's uploads.

On night turn in work, so I'm on my Windows 10 laptop, will try my Windows 11 PC when I wake up tomorrow afternoon and report back if I have the same issue.

For you and anyone with issues can you send me via pm the ge_exe.log file and screenshots of any crash alert windows produces.  And follow this flow

Boot emulator
Pick and run game with issue
soon as you get issues exit the emulator and grab the log files. The ge log file is the main one but any other log files will be useful. Then we can take a look

Use with a touch screen, the credit section works but I have to plug a mouse in for the rest, unless that's a setting in windows somewhere?

Sounds like an issue one of the testers had. I’m at work at the moment and we have frozen the codebase off to add in testing features which will help us find out which games work and which don’t and if it doesn’t work to upload the logs and any screenshots which show a crash so everything can be batched together and priorities set as to what to look at next.

once that is stable and working as it should we will go back and have a look at the touch screen issue

Does this have a .RAM feature ? Sorry I don't know anything about these machines, but if I say have £70 in credit, close down and exit MVFME, I note the game doesn't remember the credit. Behind the scenes is it storing the RAM of the machine ? I am just wondering if every time I play a game it's effectively starting from a factory reset?

If you press MENU in the game you are in it takes you to the game selection section, when you select another game the credit is still there. But yes if you completely shut it down it loses the credits/money.

The pots don't reset so I assume it does remember, it just loses your credits/money.

Interesting. It should remember the credit after shutdown. That will be added to the next build. But the games have their own ram files and they are written all the time when the game is being played and when it’s exited. You can see this is working on the games with pots. They don’t clear each time you start the game
