So good news. My fav homescreen background now works. Its the favs bit that was throwing me off totally missed the home tab at the top kept assuming it was working off the favourites tab, so that was a my bad.

The all tab however does have the right theme and can't get it to look right no matter what I change

Ok, set the All theme to a known working one.  Try that - that will show if a theme is configured differently.

If I change the all games tab to a different theme, then the wallpaper will change as expected, but rows/columns/icon width+height doesnt seem to change properly like it does for other tabs/pages. 

For example, if I change my 100 slots theme to 4 rows x 4 columns, then the 100 slots page looks like this:

If I use that same theme on the all page, it looks like this:

Doesn't seem to matter what theme/settings you use, the all page just doesnt want to display correctly.

IMPORTANT
I think I have solved pretty much everything on this thread tonight - it has been a bit of a long session.  New uploaded later today / tomorrow.

I need to add some engagement rules for anyone that uses this.

Going forwards, I will absolutely ignore multiple problems on a single post.  If there is a problem the only way I will look at it is a single clear, concise post with screenshots if needed including settings.

Ensure you have debug turned on in the kiosk settings as I may ask for a file.



So for clarity...

• A single and very clear post for each individual problem will allow me from this point onwards to look back and ensure that I have dealt with it - so I can move forwards.  Combined posts, I am literally going to ignore as before, however if you post a problem - be prepared to send me your Debug file if I ask.
   
• If you have a feature request, a single post for each one very clearly describing what you need.
   
• If you need an adjustment that is not a problem, but something you will need, again a single clear post describing exactly what you need.

I absolutely value feedback and if I have fixed something and there is no comment on if it has been fixed, I will assume fixed.

I am single person doing this and I have admin rights to modify posts that I will do with words like COMPLETED or any other status that is relevant.

Nobody takes this as a dig or complaint, I need to be more organised and this is the only way I am prepared to continue development of this - I want the best for all of you and equally I was not organised, I will be going forward.

All Issues Considered Fixed
If anything is present still - report it fresh - this is a full reset of everything

New Features
    - Fade controls added under GUI.

Fixes
    - The positioning the the bar height is universal for both Home and Kiosk Main.
    - Wheel, Orbit and Tunnel now use cards again as they should have been.
    - Updated home page fix for favourites.
    
Improvements
    - Merged GUI Icons and Home Icons into a combined tab called Icons that supports both Home and Kiosk Main.

Notes
    - Due to the changing of the Icons, some may need to be loaded again.
    - Configuration icons cannot be rearranged anymore - went for a more logical order.

I'm still having a play around, but the latest update is working very well. Didn't have to reload any icons or anything. 

I've only really got a couple of little niggles, but I'll add them to another post(s) at some point as per your instructions.

Perfect and thank you - it will really help me.

Here is a preview of something I have been working on, this is effects that are OFF by default for the video player and the attract player.  Both have individual settings.  Works like the background effects you can turn on and off.  These are not in the current build.

BUGS

1) IGME black screen when touching a game after its launched

 

Will load fine, but as soon as you touch the screen it goes blank, and you have to tab back into the emu.

On further inspection, it seems to be only BP native games, or whatever you call them. Jackpot Gems, LOTI Powerspins £500, Spinner Takes all, Pots o Riches (£100) are ones ive found so far, but there are more I think. Could well be the same games that had the previous issues with crashing after a few mins? 

 

2) Favourites Homescreen is stilll tempermental with touch

 

When scrolling through games you have to then press once on a game, and press again to launch. The second press doesnt always seem to register. A minor issue really as it doesnt affect the other homescreens, and the games do load eventually. More of a GUI/Touchscreen quirk.

 

3) All page cant be modified

 

The attract video now shows correctly, however the icon/column/row size seems to be hard coded, and no matter what theme you use/size your icons are, etc, it will always look like this:

 

 

I mean it doesnt look that bad, but it would be nice to have the option to change it like the other pages. Plus this is on a small screen I cant say how it looks on a bigger one maybe its more of an issue I dont know.

1) Attract video size

 

I know you can adjust the icon size which in turn changes the video size. However, it would be nice if you could set the dimensions yourself, or have a bit more flexibility with the width/height. Would then be able to have the option to use a wider banner style video, or whatever size suits people various setups.

 

2) Exit to desktop button

 

I know you can click on the logo to exit to desktop, but I find that is sometimes tempermental (works most of the time, its mostly a me issue having such a small screen). I just thought it would be cool if the power button could have a go to desktop option, and maybe a restart aswell or something? Could even have the desktop option locked in case people dont want others messing about on their cabs (this doesnt interest me, but could be cool for a proper locked down experience).

I'm sorry. Story of my life is that I try and help out and cock things up. Plus i'm also still kind of hard wired not to double post on forums. Used to be a massive no no for some reason (which I don't really understand, as long as the posts are meaningful). I'll stick to one post from now on you have my word.

The IGME blank screen issues seem to be fixed! Thank you. 

The attract video dimensions, etc all work fine. I just need to source some more videos

Bug/Issue:

Using WEBM clips when loading games

Ive been trying to record some clips to use when loading the games, however they come out extremely laggy. Even if you view the clip through windows its the same. Its recorded laggy to begin with. 

I wasn't sure if this was just a performance issue with my cab, or a problem with the recording process. I'm also trying this on the test build, but im assuming it should be the same functionality as the normal latest build.

It would be nice if your current tab was highlighted. Either just a background effect or something, or it loads a new image for each active page. This sort of thing:

Just thought it would add a nice touch/more customization.

Afraid that is a your PC problem - never had a problem with these and do all the captures on a larger more powerful PC.  I do recall it being pretty resource hungry as well.  I am sure in the early days I had very low quality WEBM.

Recommendation it has a mirror of your cab on your local Desktop, you can record and copy the drive over.  That's what I do.  I will try on the Interplay when it's all done as that will become the master, but these little PC's are stressed and stretched with what we make them do.

Expect that in the next build.  It might be modded as time goes on, but we can do tab highlights.

You may want addition work done - this is a first draft - works on text and graphic.

Out of interest, can you disable the red recording button so it doesnt show up on the actual recordings?

This again in the benefit of doing it on your desktop.  It grabs the screen area and does a screen shot and decides the webm recording area.  Then it starts recording only the decided area - no dot as that is off to the right.   That has multiple uses as well, for CTRL M ingame does media for that one game.

My recommendation is this.

1. Setup a Mirror PC of all the games you have on your Kiosk, you should really have this anyway just in case of a hard drive failure.

2. Ensure the drive letter is the same, I use X: on mine for both.

3. When the mirror is running go into every platform and from the Kiosk hit CTRL+M, you can then select all and it will do all the clips for you.  If it crashes ( sometimes an emu can cause that ), go back in and do it again and it will know what it has done.  If there is a problem on one game, go into the game and do CTRL+M from the running game.

4. Once done, copy the entire contents back to your Kiosk.

5. Screenshots and Webm files are location in kiosk-games.json file so even if you just copy one emulator folder over, then be sure to copy that file.

Thanks for this! I didn't realise CTRL + M was a thing. Must have missed it off the feature list at some point. 

Just setup a test run of 1 game on the cab and it seems to have worked. Although I was a bit worried as no games show up on any page unless I go to the all games page. Makes no odds to me I can just do it from there, I just thought I was doing something wrong for a second

I'm guessing its to do with using custom tabs, but who knows.

 

My one concern about doing it on the desktop is screen resolution. If it then goes back on the cab then it will look shite? I was thinking about running my main pc but using the cab touchscreen, but then the red recording dot would be an issue?

 

I'm also wondering if its worth the hassle and if I should just keep as is, or just have a screenshot instead of video. I just like having a full screen loading effect really.
