T7Emu no longer in development

Recommended Posts

Well this is to announce that all development on T7Emu is ceased

That got your attention didn’t it

the reason its ceased is because it’s now known as MVFME (multi video fruit machine emulator).

this morning we got these running

IMG_2880.thumb.jpeg.22987d0c0cda7b2bd7c03d7baf31b16b.jpeg

so the name is changed to reflect that

work needed on the back end to add new system in and make sure it all works as a single entity but hopefully we will be able to say it plays party time and crazy fruits 😂

@HongKong Phooey just one question when it’s released like mfme will it run on any laptop/pc you will you need a super hi spec piece of kit and how big will the end file size be as in how much hard drive space will it take up?
also like mfme does it save its ram state or does it clear it up on reloading

Honestly we haven’t tested yet on a non high end pc but given that the originals were running on low end devices they should be low spec. Will try tonight and report back

some keep ram and some clear. Again we are working on it

This is just incredible, so we can get older Astra games too?!

Bit late to the party but only just read up about the T7 emulation today, wonderful news.

I hope games that were not carried over from the now end-of-life Equinox terminals to the current Cascada models, of which there are a LOT, such as Raging Rhino, might come into scope "one day".

Kudos to all involved in this project, it will be well appreciated.  Take your time.

The author states they are working on T7 emulation. This means no raging rhino. But. I don't really see the difference (from my limited technical view) between T7 and T8 so you should assume that at some point it will come into view. The T8 era really has some of the all time greats so the future looks bright.

I think the t7 only badge has gone now that Astra is working. But you are right, technically late t7 and early t8 are similar but late t7 games are not running yet

By the looks of it, there's going to be a lot of machines I've never seen before as I've never really been into T7 and similar machines and the games on them.

The only video slots I've really played, were the very early era of Rainbow Riches and Monty Python and the Haunted House based one.

So I only dabbled very early in their existence.

Luckily for me I've played virtually none since 2008, when I stopped being an addict.

Astra video?   I guess though, that doesn’t mean stuff like Astra Party Gsmes will be a runner as it also utilises physical Pluto emulation for the slave units.  I would love to see those running.

This is all awesome news and thanks for the update.

My Astra / Novomatic machines at home had the multistake top reel games - Solid Gold, Bee Rich(?)  and others with the 'progressive' pay table up top, as well as the £500 Bullion Bars. The proper 3 reel and top box one, with holds and nudges. The files are out there.

But this seems to be running the Firefox hardware, so Pluto presumably isn't being considered.

Firefox, much like T7 PCs, is old hardware. I updated mine as fast as I could, I believe they were originally a Celeron M at 1.3GHz. I got a Pentium M @ 1.7-1.8GHz running in mine without any thermal issues since these had passive heatsinks.

The graphics card, from memory, was around a Geforce 8400GS, so again quite a few generations old now.

These games?

No, that's an Electrocoin that I also owned, based on a Quixant PC running Unix.

I do have an image of that but unless you are experienced with Unix / Linux I wouldn't expect you to get very far.

I probably ought to have a tinker about with it at some point but to play about with it on a Windows PC you'd probably need to run within a virtual machine.

There is a T7 program for Raging Rhino.

For the £500 machine? There is a Raging Rhino Community which could well be T7 but the original 5 reel £500 one was a T8 game I thought - albeit playable on a modded T7 to T8 setup.

I believe there is, yes, a B3 T7 program available for it

Source: many years playing RR on the T7's in Harrisons Amusements (Nobles), Dawlish.

It would make sense, given that Montezuma, a similarly aged WMS online game, did have a T7 BPAK.

But I still reckon only ever saw Raging Rhino on genuine T8, or hacked T7-T8, or possibly those server-linked T7s with all sorts of content on (bingo halls e.t.c).

In any case, time will tell :)
