Personally whilst I think this is a great idea, I still prefer my own T7's at home.  The YouTube video demonstration was okay of Neptune's Treasure, but would have been better if he had an extended desktop so that the game is not split screen side by side. (Reels on bottom, pots and awards on top monitor)   In the not too distant future then,  would it not kind of defeat the object of building a T7emu cabinet one day as you may as well just have a T7, cheap enough these days and yes I am still a bit sourpuss about the money I have wasted on my two making them mint, because I won't ever get back nor see the money I paid for them.   Particularly buying a spare pc and being shafted for the cost of it by a certain electronics company in Bolton.  I have two T7's both on Vertex Hasps and on community gaming at home anyway..so frankly and apologies, this forthcoming project I will have no reason to express an interest in whatsoever.

Good for people however who do not have a T7.  Think whoever is releasing this I say; will may possibly need to be careful about copyright though and what the now SG gaming (Light and Wonder) may possibly do if they see this.  After all they own all the software rights to the BPAKS.  I'm all for people having a blast and not hurting themselves really badly in the pocket in doing so, but you have to consider that these machines are still live and plentiful in arcades all over the country and taking money.  I have an incline that Light and Wonder won't want this ability being made free of charge to just anyone, rather than taking money in the arcades.  How are they equally getting past the hasp issue, because if the all games play in a workaround without being in demo mode, this could also raise eyebrows with licensing and copyright laws.  I would not want DIF to be getting into hot water for endorsing and supporting such.  But there again, there are loads of demo games online of popular slots on online casinos before you actually start playing for real money.  Just saying, working or not this needs to be approached with care not just excitement and enthusiasm🤨

T7 hasn't had any new BPAKs since about 2017 from memory. Nearly 10 years. I think the last ones were probably Grease, Jackpot Party and Friends community slots.

As for it not being as good as owning T7s - no shit Sherlock. I'm sure many of us would love unlimited space and unlimited cash to own unlimited machines that never went wrong. But we don't, or can't, so we have emulation.

On the subject of T7s, I lost a fortune on mine, back when I paid top whack for hacked content, PCs that died, and all that. It's the risk you take.

Sad that in order for my two T7's to be worth even £200 to £250 each less than what I paid for them, these days they would both need to have been fitted with NV11 note recyclers and taking the King's note.  Should have bloody waited for this T7EMU myself🤣🤣🤣......Dayerm!!!!!🤪 live and learn!!!

Might sell my vertex hasps soon and scrap the machines.

I would like an MFME cabinet now I think 🤔

Afternoon

some very good points raised. With regards to the screen layout this is exactly how the t7 draws them. It’s running windows xp on an extended desktop with the top on the left. So as long as you have two monitors of the same resolution laid out the same way it will give the same layout. Maybe the rendering could be changed but way out of scope of the project at the moment

the emulator will never be shipped with bpaks or unpacked games. It is down to the user to provide legally owned games from their own cabinet the same as any emulator rom. And as I said we are not looking at getting any games running that are on equinox or t8 still out there earning money even though the versions will be way older on the t7

hope that answers your questions

Turn the t7 into an mfme cabinet. Have two pcs, one for t7 and one for mfme and swap them out as required problem solved 😀

I remember mostly the original rio elvis top 20, rainbow riches etc. Would be happy with those, I also like golden relic.

Be ideal if this can be set up similar to mfme and working I our cabs!

Great news, keep the updates coming.

Do we have an eta on a version 1 release?

As I said before the issue with cabinet builds is the way the t7 had the monitors set up. If you have a single screen in portrait mode then you will end up with two very thin tall screens side by side on the screen. We may be able to sort out the rendering and get them one on top of the other but actually this is the way it’s drawn on the real machine so cabinets may be difficult with mfme in.

but i do believe that most video slot cabinets use a similar way of rendering especially the older ones so a change now might not be wise for the future

Regardless, we are all grateful and await the updates and progress ans a personal thank you from me! Something I've been on getting running from day dot.

Golden charms
Monty python
High five
Tooty fruity
OAD RiPeater cat c

rainbow riches WBSD
Hammer house of horror cat c
rainbow riches FOG

these all have best chance of running at the moment

The timing... i recently had an itch to play Black Knight so started work of extracting the the textures out the btex and created a sim:

really looking forward to this as i had to get rid of both my t7's (well 1.5 of them i kept the front of one of them for a mfme cab) as i had to move
great work and as others have said brings life back into the scene and thankfully now they can be preserved.

on a side note, i have some extracted games if required pm me.

Nice work on that sim. Did you get any issues with the btex files getting the transparency right? Funny enough trying to write a sim was exactly how this project started and it just spiralled from there.

i did have a go myself for a few days but didn't get very far and as i don't have much free time these days so thought i would give AI a go and got results in 2 hours. if you are curious i can send over the PowerShell extractors:

i have also got a repacker (not tested on a real machine yet) as i was going to buy another T7 when i move to my new place (moving again soon) and make some bootlegs haha.

on a side note, is the emulator using extracted games or can it extract .bpaks?, only ask as i did try extracting from the base bpak and didn't get close.

Is this the sort of machines that Rainbow Riches first appeared on. Also the Monty Python video slot?

well this one is close. Boots, takes credit but quits on pressing start

but it has decided the order of games. It makes total sense to work on release date order. Barcrest added to the DLL file with new features as they were needed so start with the basic games and add in extra commands as we go down the list

The aim is to have it use bpaks because that way we know it’s safe files and match the wrapper code

the issue with the repacker is the files may have a checksum stored somewhere and will know if they have been altered

did you get anywhere with decrypting and understanding machine_logic.barc? Did you find the second barc file in the file which is encrypted?
