I can only imagine some companies running Win7 Enterprise with extended support.

I don’t think that many home users will be using it today to be honest.

It’s time for the original poster to get an update.

I believe some older versions up to 6.1 will run, but lots of layouts might not be compatible?

Back in the early 2000's, in work, we set up an old 486 processor based PC with Windows 98 on it. Back then in work, the internet was off limits for non work wise, as it still wasn't seen, as pretty essential in life. So It wasn't connected to the internet, but I put MAME and MFME (which was actually called MPU3/4 emulator then) on it. It was great for playing during breaks and downtime during night shifts.

I guess you can have an old Windows 7 computer and not have it connected to the internet.

There may come a time, when a Windows version comes out and MFME stops working on it. I'm pretty sure many members will have by then an old Windows 10/11 device, to make sure they can still use it. I certainly will.

Not sure if anyone has tried the following or whether it would work:

Install v20 on a Windows 10 machine and do the upgrade to v20.1

Make a note of all the files created, this will mainly be the MFME folder and it's contents but there may may other files in the windows directory for example.

Copy all this over to your Windows 7 machine. You may also need to install 'DirectX Jun 2010' on the Windows 7 which you can search for on Google for free.

Your box will be CASHPOT

I don't think it will because i believe wizard used some features that are only in windows 10 and above for V20
