smithers18
Hi. I have tried searching the forums for an answer to this but can't seem to find anything. I have an MFME build that I am working on for my fruit machine cabinet and I am currently in the process of setting up the Pacdrive outputs, layout button shortcuts and the cropping of the layouts etc. In the meantime I have changed the OS on the cabinet but when I transferred my existing MFME folder across to the new drive, all of my progress has disappeared! The cropping has been removed, the button shortcuts on each layout have gone back to the defaults and my Pacdrive LED's are no longer assigned. Luckily I still have my 'old' hard disk that I was working on so I copied the registry entries and imported them into the new OS but still no dice (I can see from the entries that it doesn't seem to store this information in there anyway). So my question is; where is the config being saved for Pacdrive, cropping and layout changes per game? I really don't want to start over again as it took me ages to get as far as I have but I have searched all over on the 'old' drive and can't figure out where the changes are being saved. Any help would be most appreciated. All the best, Steve
Amusements
Each layout has an xxxxxx.fml file which keeps all the layout/config settings and is updated when you save(F7). An xxxxx.fml.bak file is just a backup. 1 Treat every day like your last, because one day it will be! Fruit Machine <<<My new project!
smithers18
Thanks for the reply. Its a strange one then because it hasn't carried my settings through? I didn't exclude any folders or files from my build, I done a fully copy of them all and it has just seemingly lost everything? I might just revert back to the old drive instead because its going to be a pain to do all that config again! It does worry me that any backups I make would not bring back my original settings. smithers18
Ok I found out what went wrong, and I am an idiot! I had 2 different MFME folders set up on my PC because I had made a backup just in case things went south. I had both copies of MFME pointing to 1 games folder without realising and I copied the one that didn't have the changes saved to it onto a new OS, thus my cropping, button shortcuts, pacdrive config etc. were all missing! Panic over and lesson learned!
Mohammed Hanif
Wow i didn't know it was possible to load in a cabinet ? does that mean if i build a cabinet with buttons and a small windows pc, with a touch screen then i would be able to play on it ? from the cabinet itself like you would with arcade games ? smithers18
Absolutely, that's the best way to enjoy the games! Have a look in the 'Cabinet Building' section of the forum.
