Trying to understand my own problem.

Hi all,

As the title states, I’m trying to understand my own problem & how to start solving it.

Ok so the issue is I saved a physical Barcrest Take It Or Leave It machine from being binned because it didn’t turn on. After a few checks I’m quite sure it’s had its software erased. By software I mean ROM I think?

So the thing I’m trying to understand is, are the ROMs used for emulation & actual physical machines the same? I realise that may not be a simple question to answer but even a simple yes or no answer would be helpful to me 🙂.

I’ve done quite a lot of searching for the ROM I require to try & bring the machine back to life but knowing Barcrest no longer exist I know the hunt may go on for a while.

Another question I have is, all the ROMs for Barcrest machines must still exist somewhere, like with ex engineers or archived in a ROM vault 😂. Is there an on going search for folders full of ROMs that I should be searching for or is it more a case of knowing the right people, asking nicely or purchasing the files needed?

I probably sound like a donkey asking those questions but understanding those bits would really help me.

I’ve attached a picture of the machine so you can see how sad it looks. I’ve tried to make it comfortable.

Thanks,

Rob.

Hi all & sorry for the delay, I’ve been working.

Thank you so much for all your replies, I’m blown away with all your help.

I had a feeling the ROMs used for emulations may be the same ones but thank you for clarifying that. It makes sense as I’m sure they were designed on a computer in the first place & shown on a screen. Smiling laughing embarrassed face.

Thank you so much sir! You were mentioned above & then came to my aid. It’s very much appreciated & I shall give it a go.

I think it is an MPU6 module in the back of the machine I have. So when a machine is cloned do they just use all the same coding? I may have misunderstood the cloning thing. Grimmacing smiley head.

my emojis don’t work. Soz.

You need to put the uploaded file (ABOVE) onto a USB stick and install onto the MPU 6. I would suspect TLNP0_4.BIN or TILI0_2.BIN would be your best bet for a home use machine (as it's bog standard and not going to require data packs or be arcade software)
