'Cash n Grab' is a game that totally escaped me at the time, it looks fairly decent though from the screenshot, I may have to load up a ROM to give it a few spins... This is the first computer fruit machine I ever played on my first ever computer which was a Commodore 16, it looks pretty terrible now but back then it didn't look quite as bad... I also played 'Fruit Machine' on the Amstrad CPC464, this was one of the many crap games that came bundled with the computer, it was good for wasting an hour or so when there was nothing better to do...
dad
Surely you remember my DOS based fruity from 96?? IIRC I wrote it in BASIC and It worked like a charm - exactly like Each Way Nudger I sent it in to PC Format and got no reply - BASTARDS lol 3

I’d have to troll through a load of old laptops or CDs to even find it again. It wasn’t speed throttled either so it ran too fast on anything faster than an old Elonex sx386 which I think I used when coding it. I loved messing about coding stuff back in the day. I actually got a city & guilds games programming certificate in 1991 IIRC.

Also the hold buttons aren't quite centrally-aligned with the reels - 7/10. *runs* Edited November 3, 2024 by stevedude2 2
johnparker007
This is a modern project, but a guy Bernard Mitchell has been making some impressive MPU3 era machine simulations that run on a humble 48K ZX Spectrum (mainly based around Line Up type machines): The audio is particularly dialled in, and he's also implemented the G.A.I.N system, plus it plays to a realistic VTP. Mort
Seems to be a lot of interest in these old 8-bit fruit machine simulations @Reg Just an idea, but how about covering some, if not all, of these in a video if you are looking for ideas at some point Edited November 4, 2024 by Mort
jabbathehut
They are very good for some reason can't get the sounds to work on the emulator but there are options to play in browser and sound does work there.
