This coder, blueonesaresafer, is it someone we know?  Cos they haven't submitted much, just to mpu3 that I can see.

That said, I find a git a pain in the arse, as they never document what's actually been done.

I find the whole mame PR thing pointless makes it hard to get in stuff the reviewers aren't interested in black box for example sat there nearly a year then they picked holes in it and asked a load of changes how to make someone say "fuck it" and no bother.

They should have really updated the Atari FF, it was a true 32bit machine I believe, it was faster than he Falcon, but the falcon had superior sound and graphics.  I think the FF was aimed more as a business/music machine.  I used a basic Atari ST FM with Cubase back in the day.  I then upgraded to the Amiga purely for the tracker based music software.

Think you mean the TT?

Yes, lol I did :)   I guess the Falcon made sense for cost purposes, again it's a shame it wasn't a commerical success, I think they could have been a major player.

I mean,  same with SEGA, they kind of lost their way.  The Dreamcast was pretty groundbreaking console, sadly not a huge success, I got one when they first came out and Soul Caliber blew me away it was pretty insane.  So many great games on that system, not sure what went wrong.  Marketing?

There are quite a few people who think that, including me. FME in MAME would be much further on than it is now without having to jump through hoops.

If I'd done the black box emulation I would've withdrawn it after all the messing around they did.

I gave up on it long ago unless it's a really simple fix and even then I've had them moan about extra or missing spaces in "if" statements and similar irrelevant stuff.

Makes you wonder whether it'd be a better option to do a version concentrating on FME ?

Which is how it once was, AGEMAME

Sorry to bring up the Atari Falcon again , its down fall was down to it being aimed at the business market. The germans strongly beleaved this was a business computer not a games machine. The rest of europe agreeded this is nothing like the amiga and st. It`s more as like mac`s are for DTP etc. This was from a mag that i use to buy called the edge may of been another mag. It definitely stated that.

I`m amiga man give me a A4000 040 or a 060 any day.

Both CBM and Atari where both brilliant computer manufacturers.

Moving back to earth, So mame and mfme are now comming together as one. Could this also be our dear chris`s dream of other mpu`s being added into the mix and all are now being finished. Mpu1,2, Tripple M ,Pluto`s and scorp 6. Aswell the whole system being ported to mobile devices. Thanks to mame running on mobile devices.

or have i just been to mixed up with the atari thing.

Isn’t that actually Scorp5, looks like Vecs  release?

Initially I thought exactly the same but the coloured LED on the reels are working on this one (IIRC they don't on the Vectra release). Please comment @vectra666

In any case sorry to be harsh but why is he wasting time with games that already exist as scorp 5. How about getting some scorp 6 BFG releases going.

I'm not that technical... but I wonder if perhaps Betcom / Blueprint / Reflex software on Scorpion 6 might be less protected? Perhaps it's a case of starting with the easiest** stuff and then trying to get the harder bits going once you know you've got the basics covered?

It is interesting in any case. Scorpion 6 is, in UK terms at least, almost dead. I assume it's just Reflex and Electrocoin using it now?

I've no technical experience inside the most recent BX7 e.t.c. but I'm sure they build them on Scorpion 6 now, rather than the old Z80 architecture.

Wow, this is great, possibly a new emulator coder breaking through.  Or maybe an old one?  I'd love to see Pluto 6 emulated.

Shame they don't post on here.

Also no evidence they plan to release as I have previously touched on mame is notorious for being a bitch to get stuff published in it miss a semi colon and it sits there a year.

Oh I see a Cobra 3 emu video too, interesting stuff :)

Yes!!! I remember all the stupid clips and things from it!! So glad it's working, and don't feel bad about not being able to dump my CD.

Good game, I also liked Telly Addicts which may have been the same hardware? But TOTP is one I played a lot with dad, and then bought the very machine we used to play together. Lots of good memories of it :)

I hope they do. I can’t see the point in putting a vid up if it’s just for personal use.  Would be a shame if it wasn’t for future release.  Who knows what else they have emulated.

Could it be either Dialtone, Re-Animator or Guitar?  They are the only coders I know who would spend time on Fruit Machines.  The Video at first I thought was fake but looking at it again I'm pretty sure its genuine.  However it's one thing converting a SC5 layout to a SC6, what about Dev tools etc..

I feel that if a full blown emulator release is forthcoming It'll be a long way off, but I'd love to see it.

Could be any of them, but could also be someone else? Maybe just a competent programmer who fancied picking up some techs that hadn't been covered.

That Cobra 3 looks bang on, having owned the machine. The clips and graphics are spot on. If it was just that it could look suspect, but the gameplay looks correct too. The only bit that looks weird watching it back is the fact it doesn't have onscreen controls, with the original machine having buttons rather than any sort of touchscreen interface. I assume they are being emulated off-screen (keypresses, or part of the GUI we can't see on video).

Whoever it is or why they are doing it, I'm still happy to see it, and hopeful that it'll see the light of day at some point. Scorp 6 doesn't bother me at all, machines were dead by that point for me anyway. But Cobra 3? Mmmmmmm.
