I'm sure I've had the standard casino cab layout in the past but don't recall the sitdown arena version being done :)

Currently owned digitals : T7 Encore, T7 Original, Astra iPub and Storm Street Casino.

MFME cabinets : Genesis cab DIY by No1Stoney, Interplay conversion and Vegas Strip conversion (both are works in progress!)

Ah it could have been Reg's layout for Crazy Chair Casino that I was confusing it with. I'm gobsmacked there's not been a layout of it to date, assuming that's really the case. I'd search over at Fruit-Emu but can't be arsed doing with the 'wait 100 seconds between downloads' and other stuff.

I think it's because people don't realise we probably have the roms available. There are a few roms under the wrong Deal Or No Deal category and there seem to be too many roms under Deal Or No Deal Club which I suspect could be for these machines in the pics.

Well I know from experience you are quite the ROM guru, and you are probably right - just a case of mislabelled ROMs. Should be a nice easy classic for someone, and I'm sure we have a flyer or two for it so a flyer DX would also be pretty easy :)

Actually those roms for the machines in the pics are under Deal Or No Deal Casino. There does seem to be roms for a few different machines under Deal Or No Deal Club, including those Adder 5 Deal Or No Deal digital roms.

I sorted through Mazooma Golden Games and Monopoly roms and found some roms for Casino Monopoly which is the 3 player £35 jackpot version like Grand Golden Game. That hasn't been emulated yet either.

This might be a silly question, but if the original DOND casino gets done, I wonder if the big telephone that rings and moves about would or could be an issue in MFME - what if it causes the game to crash or cause an error message. That said, the one we had in our local arcade either had it disabled or it was broken and the machine still ran so who knows.

Would love to see it emulated though. Was quite a bastard machine in reality, sucked and sucked til the streak was given, rinse and repeat. Much money was lost by me back in the day!

I wondered about that myself but it shouldn't do - unless the software checks for a jam or similar as a safety precaution? I would hope the machine would just provide power to the phone, much like machines would provide power to a light up 'top box'. Would be interesting to find out though!

Here's a video from YouTube taken from completely the wrong angle. You can't really see the proper animation of the phone but it gives you an idea  of how it works :)

I thought the phone was even more animated from memory but it's been a while since I've played one with a phone on so could just be me imagining things :)

It's not Showtime. That was Barcrest's version of linked top-boxes.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was driven by a reel output or similar, or just a spare power output used for powering a light-up top box like a Triple 7 with just a light up (non-video) top box.

If the lighting is driven by the Scorpion 4 MPU then there would potentially be specific lamps that could be assigned to the phone, but animation would be awkward unless someone wanted to try and recreate the effect by using different lamp numbers as different frames of animation. Might work, might not. I guess the first step would be someone trying the ROMs and then seeing if they run correctly, and assuming they do, seeing how the phone is driven.

The phone rings when the banker makes his offer so maybe linked to the accept or not accept offer text

does the phone dial move

It may light up like those triple lamps on oldie machines like nudge wink and cloud 9 they flash when you get the jackpot attract

as for phone animation I did this poorly when I made the first emulation of a pull handle “classic club” it looked shit but did work to some respect

someone up the correct roms and we’ll test em out sometime

Im sure the phone was more animated than in this video as well.  IIRC i thought the phone (or receiver at least) was mounted like this, but it tilted from left to right slowly as well as the dial spinning around. I'm sure that the phone was also tilted slightly towards you. Made an absolute racket when it went off haha.

EDIT: Could be wrong though with the phone movement, but the dial definitely spun, but i'm quite confident the phone moved also. Not 100% sure

sounds cool... initial though would be one image say left for the deal lamp and another right for no deal lamp to animate the left and right phone image but that's only two but would give a idea until better planned work can be done etc...

Anyways roms first I won’t be able to test till weekend also a few wips need starting/ finishing

if I was making this layout/machine I’d personally leave that phone off to give more playing area to the dx

or have it as side art??

You're probably correct about not including the phone at the top to give more playing area to the layout. Side art would be the way for those who want the phone to be included.

I have one of these phones wired into my fruit machine cab. The dial turns when dond is active on dond games. In its original form the dial spins and the phone shakes on top. Also has lights around the dial.

Here is a photo I found when I was modifying it. Hopefully someone can work out where the plugs would go on the scorp 4 from the pic.

All Casino DOND layouts are Scorp5.
