YouTube Emulation Extravaganza

Hated this machine.

So true back in the very early days of FME, I'd play a very poor 800x600 classic layout (not that I'm saying the layouts shown in the video are poor) of a terrible machine for hours. After all It was a real fruit machine emulated, which was still way better than playing a simulation.

Nowadays we are totally spoilt, I haven't put more than a fiver through dozens of layouts.

As for the sounds well I must say he's got a big one said in that bad French accent, still got a snigger from me after all these years. Even writing it I'm chuckling.

Nice video again Choppers, but wow what a crap machine that was.

I never had the chance (thankfully) to play it myself.

Is there any chance though that the machine also becomes stuck in a gameplay state with regard to not registering any further money input, therefore compensator state sticks at point of it being “plugged” ? Or was the machine always this much of a tight twat regardless ?

cerainly be good to get the machine into a happy pay state (if that even exists) then take a small win, plug it, and then see if it stays in that state.

I might give that a test sometime.

Great video again even if it was short and sweet. Never really played any global machines TBH always thought thay was a load of shit. I should have a play in the emu to give them a full chance without losing the money.

Anyways on the subject of emptiers and plugging who the hell goes around doing this back in the day to find these cheats??? I mean this one in the video how the F++k?

Who would of thought a 10p loop.

Thanks degsy keep them coming.

'The Day I Started to Win'

I've mentioned this in previous videos, how in the mid to back end of the £15 era I finally got a little bit of a clue on fruit machines, and was finally, after a decade of losses, able to start making some money back.

Flashback - Skill Empty ROMs

----------

Previously released with the chipped ROMs (where Stop 'N Step cheats and the reel chosen for the feature can vary), my shadowy operative has managed to retrieve early true skill ROMs for the machine.

On these ROMs Stop 'N Step always spins the middle reel and doesn't cheat if you can set up, and then hit, red sevens for a £12 win.

Does Degsy have the required skill to pull it off?

I think we all know the answer to that.

Layout + ROMs available from the RAM+GAM file forum here at DIF :)

Good question!

I find I am pretty useless at skills on the emulator. Was pretty good in real life, things like Cash Explosion I would hardly ever miss, even hit the skill on Labyrinth for castles occasionally (probably because it was blocking the rest of the time!)

On the emulator I can't hit anything with any consistency!

Another enjoyable video.

I don't normally try skill stops on the emulator, unless they can be slowed down. I think the keyboard and definitely the mouse, is inferior when trying to achieve them.

The Scorpion 1 machine Chain Attraction was my most successful as a player, used to impress my late nan with my skills and end up with scraped knuckles as the cabinet used to be quite sharp and pointed underneath the small buttons.

Not a machine, I remember playing much. I was all posed to post that you forgot to mention the different wording on the alpha and then you mentioned it right at the end lol.

I do enjoy going over some of the old videos.

I do think the channel would benefit from having playlists with the amount of videos now available. Nothing to complicated something like FME, Gambling, Gaming.

That's a good idea wearecity, I'll see if I can find a bit of time to get it done, as some folks are going to be interested in FME and not slots, and vice versa, and so on.

With that, here's this week's video which I fully admit is a bit of a rush job as it got to Thursday night and I still hadn't made a start on the video for publishing on Friday morning!

Have some classic £6 Barcrests.

Apologies, this is another Bandicam pause/unpause job, I would have tightened it up quite a bit in the edit but time has got away from me again this week I'm afraid.

Cracking video once again chopaholic.

As you mention i too was a major addict at the height of these "enjoyable" machines and as you say if they made these like the shite thats out there today then maybe we'd both be millionaires with all the money we'd of saved maybe i'd of had enough money for a brand new ford escort back in the day lol.

And yes as you mentioned in the 2nd half of the video, I/we can't thank Wizard enough for mfme past, present and future, without him there'd be nothing and yes to everyone invovled in the creation of these layout's including the unsung hero's of the rom dumpers to the flyer uploaders and photo's resourcer's, without these there'd be no layout's to be made or played on

And of course lets not forget the forums the layouts/mfme are hosted on

so a BIG Thankyou from myself to you All!!!

Can only echo what vectra and wearecity have said really. I do look forward to degsy's Friday videos.

And yes big thank you goes out all that make FME what it is today(so many names we could go though) inc yourself, but up most respect for Wizard for sticking with it all these years,to bring flashbacks of when some machine screwed you over and good times when you thought you was on a roll from the depths of are youth is just truly amazing.

Cheers guys I appreciate the comments :)

The FME eulogising section wasn't in the 'script' as it were (not that I work from a script, but I have an idea in my head what I'm going to talk about), but as I was flicking between those four classic machines, perfectly emulated with fantastic DX layouts on a new release of the emulator, I was reminded again just how truly awesome it all is - so went off on one a bit about how splendid FME is, even after all these years. (Perhaps more so now, than ever, in fact.)

Fantastic video as usual.  Massive thanks for doing them, mate.  The enthusiasm you still show is inspiring. :)

FME is indeed a marvel.  Even after 17 odd years, and counting.  Still a bit to do as well, so I'll be around for a good while yet.  One little thing.  The version of Road Hog you were using in the video was the older version I did.  I updated it for MFME6.1 in this thread here: http://www.fruit-emu.com/forums/topic/55526-mfme6-layouts/

I updated all my older layouts in that thread as well, so if you need any other layout I did for a future video you can get them all in the thread above. :)

Ooohhh thanks Ploggy I'll have a proper rummage around in there, it's possible I've missed quite a few of your updates :)

The updates are of course much appreciated although TBH the fact that the original layouts from folks such as yourself from many years ago, still stand up today, speaks to how damn good they were in the first place!
