Hopper Opto output

I have been playing around trying to get a compact hopper to payout but it's hit and miss I might use an arduino to take the pac drive output but in MFME if I select opto will it pulse the coin amount and will mfme still require the key pressed to acknowledge coin has been paid out?

My ideal is simple send 5 pulses from the pac drive and let the arduino handle the coin output for 5 coins returninging keypresses if it I still required?

My next question is can I use opto output on every rom or does it need to change on each rom?
