Fortune Wheel / Wheel of Fortune DX - Project - Proconn

Oh so basically you can modify the .gam file to open a series of machines.  I guess if you have created them in similar dimensions.   So you could potentially open a few up as most people use there monitors in horizontal mode, there is plenty of pixel space.

Just run up as many machines as you want, then do a Alt L to link them, then every time you load up the one that you did the linking on, it will start them all up.

No need to faff around with the .gam files.

These look great.  I played the £4.80 sampled version many times.  I also remember those chunky £1 tokens, Similar size to the £2 coin.  They were a bit of a pain since you could only put them back in WOF or Crazy Payes, the arcades I used would not swap them for 20p tokens.  One arcade I used did have about 6 WOFs but another arcade only had one WOF and 1 Crazy Pays.  The arcade which just had the two machines in eventually swapped out the £1 tokens for 20p only tokens.  The up side of the £1 tokens was that they could really streak up to £50/£60 at a time where as the 20p only ones did not streak so well.

Did someone say we have the £1 token roms available?  That would be interesting to see.

Looking forward to this release.

Yeah, these tokens were a fad and a bit of a rip off, especially if you played in an arcade with only a small number of Project Coin machines that took them.   I remember being in an arcade in the Chapel St Leonards area (nr Skegness), an arcade called 'Little John's', was a decent arcade back in the early 90's.  They had a load of Project Coin machines but literally only two that dispensed the £1 super tokens.   Wheel of Fortune and Rags to Riches.  There was literally no real point in playing them.   I remember I got the streak from WOF then went on to Rags with my tokens, what I should have done was go on Rags first as that is all about the token holds, then played WoF with the tokens and if I hit the streak just take all cash wins rather than tokens.

Ah, was the other machine Rags to Riches that took those tokens?  I only remember two ever taking them.  Presumable they were not very popular as from what I remember, they were withdrawn and no one else tried them.

Sorry, I keep calling it Wheel of Fortune when it is Fortune Wheel.  There's an MPU3 which goes by the name of Wheel Of Fortune, think it was a VPS rebuild of something and there's the video casino game.

This Project Coin was called Wheel of Fortune, there was a glass update with the name becoming Fortune Wheel.

Couple of old Project Coin machines here, essentially the same machine but using slightly different roms with different sound packages and button layouts. Some confusing over what roms go with what sound and what each was called.

you cant beat the old project machines if you caught them at the right time you were quids in especially as some of the pubs round ours changed the tokens

Look forward to these, to replace my crappy dx/classic effort  of fortune wheel.

One good thing to come out of my layout is the reel bands if you need them, I think I got them from the actual machine or something via the mecca.

There several ROM versions of these floating about fme land one with a special £1 token payout?

Oy, do you mind! I have yours and Captain Haddocks version too and like the gameplay. Alright, given, we know the DX king is going to rip shit outta this one!!!!!!!

This has been kicking about my hard drive too long, been putting off doing anything to it due to various issues but spent a bit of time today getting them to a playable state.

Set up the dual linked system in the emu, first time I tried that, works really well. Although playing two machines at the same time is stressful! o.O

You're not as fast as you use to be;-)

Was going to ask you about this the other day but it seemed like you had a lot on your plate in and probably out of Fme life.

Looks great Dave and I know a lot are waiting patiently for this.

Just a quick question, all of the segs light up whilst the wheel is spinning. I know it is a wip but are they going to be lamped?

I'm quicker these past three weeks being in isolation, although back to work from Monday so normal service will resume.

The wheels behave odd, one machine they all light, the other only four main points do. They've never kept in sync and acted right to me hence why I've been dragging my heels with this one.

Dave, there is no way in hell I would ever question your skills and as for being in isolation I am a lot slower, must be old age!!

Just having them like what I see on your vid makes me drool anyway. Take your perfected time Dave as always love your eye candied layouts.

Take care out there when you go back to work mate:)

Funny enough I've been giving Captain Haddock's Fortune Wheel classic layout some hammer recently (on £4.80), had some nice wins out of it.

One thing though that I don't remember happening on the actual machine - if you get the 50/50 repeat chance then the (emulated) machine seems to pay a random amount every time it repeats? I always remember going for the fortune wheel feature if I got the jackpot, hoping to get the 50/50 repeat as it could repeat quite a few times on the actual machine. Any ideas??

Looking forward to this release Dave, looks great so far! :)

How are these coming along Dave? These are pretty cool games that I'm really looking forward to and knowing they are getting the 'Pook' treatment, I'm rather excited... There were 2 side by side in an arcade in Withernsea, on the Holderness coast (I'm sure Dad will concur). That same arcade is pretty much a flea market now. Selling shite but if you look around the place, theres still signs not only left from the old arcade, but they are still lit and operational. A nice ambient distracton if you are out looking for some discounted Tenna Lady and out of date pork scratchings...

They are playing up a bit, lamps on wheels acting odd and wheel alignment, starts off out of whack but once you get the feature if fixes itself and then behaves, it's all most odd.

I'm sure Mr.P once told me the real machine did that too, I spent ages fiddling about with it and could never fix it.
