  1. Not strictly fme but could be now gas a recompiler that means a big speed increase for demanding systems I can see them adding more if this lot works

1.21 Updated to MAME 0.274 which adds a 64-bit ARMv8 recompiler (DRC). This means a huge performance boost on very demanding systems like K.Instinct or CPS-3. Support 16 KB page sizes so that new Android devices will work.

  2. probably why mfme was never back ported back to mame I remember a convo I had years ago on how they got past these chips and how the debugger was used to bypass the chrs, basically the machine would ask for (example) the number 2 rather than emulate the chip and pass 2 to the machine they would feed it the number 2

That's my point - why wouldn't they show it running in normal play mode unless there were issues. We will see I guess anyway.

Maybe thats all the emulation does at the present time subject to him perfecting it reminds me of the phrase 'this is why we can't have nice things' :(

Wow, this is great, possibly a new emulator coder breaking through.  Or maybe an old one?  I'd love to see Pluto 6 emulated.

Shame they don't post on here.

Also no evidence they plan to release as I have previously touched on mame is notorious for being a bitch to get stuff published in it miss a semi colon and it sits there a year.

There are quite a few people who think that, including me. FME in MAME would be much further on than it is now without having to jump through hoops.

If I'd done the black box emulation I would've withdrawn it after all the messing around they did.

I gave up on it long ago unless it's a really simple fix and even then I've had them moan about extra or missing spaces in "if" statements and similar irrelevant stuff.

Makes you wonder whether it'd be a better option to do a version concentrating on FME ?

Which is how it once was, AGEMAME

They should have really updated the Atari FF, it was a true 32bit machine I believe, it was faster than he Falcon, but the falcon had superior sound and graphics.  I think the FF was aimed more as a business/music machine.  I used a basic Atari ST FM with Cubase back in the day.  I then upgraded to the Amiga purely for the tracker based music software.

    Think you mean the TT?

This coder, blueonesaresafer, is it someone we know?  Cos they haven't submitted much, just to mpu3 that I can see.

That said, I find a git a pain in the arse, as they never document what's actually been done.

I find the whole mame PR thing pointless makes it hard to get in stuff the reviewers aren't interested in black box for example sat there nearly a year then they picked holes in it and asked a load of changes how to make someone say "fuck it" and no bother.
