Not strictly fme but could be now gas a recompiler that means a big speed increase for demanding systems I can see them adding more if this lot works
1.21 Updated to MAME 0.274 which adds a 64-bit ARMv8 recompiler (DRC). This means a huge performance boost on very demanding systems like K.Instinct or CPS-3. Support 16 KB page sizes so that new Android devices will work.

and sadly why Pluto might be stumbled they like straight emulation and no workarounds unless its something they like and are interested in saw a full PR get binned the other day no help just criticism so the guy just went fuck this and walked understandable IMO
-
probably why mfme was never back ported back to mame I remember a convo I had years ago on how they got past these chips and how the debugger was used to bypass the chrs, basically the machine would ask for (example) the number 2 rather than emulate the chip and pass 2 to the machine they would feed it the number 2
-
Wonder if that chip is dump able?
-
Wonder if that chip next to the CF card is it ?
-
Be interesting to see how well it runs if they do get it running would expect it would need a beefy PC to run it all.

Looks like he is getting decent support to iron out the issues too

Sadly the disks do not read for that game so it boots to a point then fails because there are no questions disk to load

Either way it's probably the most significant thing in FME since Chris passed let's support their efforts and hope one day they share it with us.

That's my point - why wouldn't they show it running in normal play mode unless there were issues. We will see I guess anyway.
Maybe thats all the emulation does at the present time subject to him perfecting it reminds me of the phrase 'this is why we can't have nice things'

There are mfme to mame dev tools @johnparker007 has been writing them for quite some time nothing to stop a dev using mfme as basis then editing the .lay file for any lamp changes.

Wow, this is great, possibly a new emulator coder breaking through. Or maybe an old one? I'd love to see Pluto 6 emulated.
Shame they don't post on here.

Also no evidence they plan to release as I have previously touched on mame is notorious for being a bitch to get stuff published in it miss a semi colon and it sits there a year.

I'd love to play that again thankfully there is a cd from that in the swp set so possibly playable at some point.

Yes, I never really understood the reasons for merging AGEMAME back into MAME
'blueonesarefaster' previously added the BFG dot matrix vfd to MAME.
Seems he is a busy lad....

There are quite a few people who think that, including me. FME in MAME would be much further on than it is now without having to jump through hoops.
If I'd done the black box emulation I would've withdrawn it after all the messing around they did.
I gave up on it long ago unless it's a really simple fix and even then I've had them moan about extra or missing spaces in "if" statements and similar irrelevant stuff.
Makes you wonder whether it'd be a better option to do a version concentrating on FME ?
Which is how it once was, AGEMAME

They should have really updated the Atari FF, it was a true 32bit machine I believe, it was faster than he Falcon, but the falcon had superior sound and graphics. I think the FF was aimed more as a business/music machine. I used a basic Atari ST FM with Cubase back in the day. I then upgraded to the Amiga purely for the tracker based music software.

Think you mean the TT?

This coder, blueonesaresafer, is it someone we know? Cos they haven't submitted much, just to mpu3 that I can see.
That said, I find a git a pain in the arse, as they never document what's actually been done.
I find the whole mame PR thing pointless makes it hard to get in stuff the reviewers aren't interested in black box for example sat there nearly a year then they picked holes in it and asked a load of changes how to make someone say "fuck it" and no bother.
