Hiya No1Stoney
Unfortunately I suspect you have an old registry from earlier MFME, so is missing the InstallPath key.
I'm planning to address this (and various other issues to do with finding the correct MFME.exe) in the next update, which will be about getting this to have some fallback strategies etc.
Some info below, but only if you are familiar with using regedit, otherwise please wait for the update! As it might not even be this, but some other reason... hopefully be an update that fixes this in within a week.
If you really want to get it going before then, and you are on the latest MFME, and you are comfortable editing the Windows Registry - you would search CJW, and add a string key 'InstallPath' under CJW/MFME, with it's value being the path to the latest MFME.exe.
Thanks. Yes I've familiar with registry so I will give it a go. Thanks for the information!

Sorry if I missed this, but does MFME have to be somewhere specific for this to work? I've pressed Enter on a machine and it focuses on it, but then freezes until I press Esc?

I've been watching this thread with great excitement and I am enjoying seeing how well it's coming along. Looking fantastic. I've chucked a fiver in the pot (its all I can afford at the moment, but wanted to do my bit to help) Keep up the great work.

MFME 20.1 allows you to crop an image from any edge. To do this, make sure you're in edit mode then drag the mfme window in from any side. Then leave edit mode and save the layout.
If when you edit, mfme adds scroll bars and you can only drag diagonally, right click the layout and click 'max resolution, under window size and then try again.

You can use any 12v feed for either. Just try this first.
When you have your pacdrive configuration window open make sure all is configured correctly and then press the config button. This maps all your settings to the specific machine.
If your hopper isn't firing up at all its something to do with your pacdrive, mfme or wiring and not the ipac (yet)
-
You can wire 12v bulbs using the pacdrive but please read the instructions online for it, as wiring 12v directly to the pacdrive will blow it. You need to wire to a separate 12v source which is easy enough to do. Or you can opt for 5v led bulbs and they will also work wired directly to the pacdrive

Hiya Pete, thanks for this, it’s a great help! I’ll keep looking out for a routing plug although I know they are quite hard to get hold of. If anyone finds any or knows where I could get one, please leave a link.
Thanks, really appreciate it
You could always make your own plug?
Search ebay for Dupont cables. you could just wire to the pins yourself using something like those

Yes, define the shortcut of the button you need for each lamp on your pacdrive.
Press 'config' under pacdrive settings. This will assign the lamp number which corresponds to the 'shortcut key' of that particular button, to all of your pacdrive lamps.
For example. Start button is 'SPACE' . So define Pacdrive (OUTPUT NUMBER) to 'SPACE'
Repeat this for all the diferent buttons on your cabinet. Then press 'Config'. It will then assign the lamp numbers from each of those buttons to your pacdrive settings.
Save this config...
For each layout, use the SAME SHORTCUT buttons for every layout.. Load Config --> 'Config' button
Sorry if this isnt clear. I can't think of a better way to describe it

Wow, just seeing the potential with this is making me drool. Beautiful. Always loved the idea of putting virtual machine inside your own virtual arcade..

Looks smart. Very tidy. Did you make the MFME decal yourself?

If you have a 15-way mech, it will indeed not have 1 coin type (5p I'm guessing from what BF74 has said) which is coin 6 from the mech.

-
I have 2 'off' ones and they both get picked up on MFME as 2 separate IDs so it shouldn't matter.
-
You can use 2 pacdrives even if you get the 2nd one later. I would stick with the amount of buttons you want.
Tubes would be a pain to get working as they are usually fired by 50v. I'm sure its possible but doubt it would be easy and I cannot help with that unfortunately.
The azkoyen hoppers are universal and will accept any coin as they don't have a specific disc. They will take all sizes of coin. The coin sensor just detects something passing it to know a coin has passed through. Hope that clears things up a bit more

To answer some more questions
Your pacdrive will need to spare 2 outputs for the 2 hoppers and the rest will be used for your lamps. So if you have less than 14 buttons/lights then you can get away with 1 pacdrive. If you have more then you will need to use 2.. make sure you opt for the 'always off' pacdrives (IMPORTANT!)
Your ipac will need 6 inputs free which your coin mech will use and 1 input from each of your hoppers. As the ipac has 32 inputs, as long as you don't have any more than 24 buttons then you will get away with 1 ipac.
Your coin mech should be set up so it routes all other coins to a cashbox (that's what I've done in mine) you will have to read the manual how to set that up as you will need to set up a routing plug for your needs.

Hi @DrB. As others have covered the coin mech, I'll start by helping with some of your other questions.
The azkoyen U parallel hoppers are best in my opinion as they are not too big, can be used with any coin and put side by side and the coins payout 'through' each other meaning they save a little space. Personally I would have a £1/10p setup so that if you do in the future, add machines that use a 10p hopper it will still be compatible. For the machines that pay 20p or token you can set MFME to eject 2x10p coins instead. But thats totally upto you and your build.
For tubing I used pond tubing which I sourced cheaply on ebay. Its durable and flexible so can be twisted and routed round everything you have in your cab.
Hope this helps

Its the same and you can use my diagram if you want. Pin 8 doesn't need to be used

I am, like no doubt, everyone one else here, in total shock. What a waste of such a talented man who has brought us so much over the many years.
We will all miss you so, so much.

Really looks good now its painted. Amazing how much difference it makes. Maybe do a quick video of it all working taking coins and paying out. That would be great to see. Glad you got it working in the end. Pleasure to help.

Ah good. So find out which input is assigned to a 8 7 6 / and 0 and change them to the correct inputs you require
-
No I mean just the regular notepad that Windows come with. Or something like word. Just to see what keyboard press is being entered when you insert each coin type. If its entering the wrong credit amount to what you're putting in the mech, it will be your coin type is set up wrong for each of your coin lamps.
-
Coin effects won't make a difference. Try this. Open notepad and insert each coin type into the mech. Check what keypress is typed into notepad. Does it match what you think each coin is set up to be? It sounds as if winipac isn't set up correctly. Not sure on the issue with it crediting occasionally tho. Have you double checked the wires into the mech and make sure they are all making good contact
-
You cant set [ or ] in MFME as they are used for the hoppers
-
Did you set the same shortcut to the coin lamps as you have setup in winipac?

AMAZING! That worked a treat and the machines are playing great. Such an amazing environment to play the machine in. Thanks so much for what you've achieved so far!
