I'm not sure 'trivial' is the word I'd use, I wouldn't have a clue. 'Accessible' maybe, AI programs like claude have open the door for loads of developers that aren't hardcore coders. You'll still need intimate knowledge of what you were emulating, let alone the time and financial commitment. I was reading an android community the other day and it was all kicking off about AI being used to build APKs, I kinda see the issue sometimes, but as an end user as long as the finished prodcut works well I couldn't give a fish's tit how it was made.

Try making the overlay area a checkerboard of white and your transparent colour. Making each square 1 pixel will give the most transparent effect, moving up squares of 4, 9, 16 pixels etc will make it more white, all depends on the size of your base art.

I'm not actively working on a DX for this as I have loads of projects half done I really need to clear first. But I still have my original art base. tools and techniques have advanced so at some point I could go back and revisit.
