  1. This is very interesting indeed. The obvious main issue with dx'ing is the source artwork being low res. I'm still learning photoshop even after all these years to try various ways to sharpen images suitable for a decent dx. This though sounds like it could be a solution for low res images.

  2. Struggling a bit with lamping especially using transparency. I only just found out that MFME has a lamping creator. Can anyone give me a guide on how to use this please or maybe a quick rundown on creating realistic looking lamps. Thanks

1/ The issue of the payout sounds can be sorted, by opening the layout, going into design, edit mode, then under the configuration tab, unchecking both hoppers.

Come out of configuration screen and edit mode and save the layout.

2/ The doors open issue, must mean you have old layouts, that may have been updated, so check for newer versions. If no newer version is available, you can sort out the issue, by entering the switch numbers.

Again, go into edit mode and open the configuration tab and enter the switch numbers for service and cash.

I've attached a document, with all the Scorpion 4 issues, that I knew about, with information on switch settings and those layouts that need the hoppers unchecked.

Over at fruit-emu, I started a thread, which now contains tons of information regarding switch numbers for most Scorpion 4 layouts as well as lots of other fix information for various layouts on different techs.

Thank you. Will take a look through that and hopefully that will fix issues

  4. So I have a couple of S4 layouts that when loaded up have a constant cash drop sound like the machine is paying out. Also when the machine initialises it comes up read meters? If I cancel its shows door open even when its not ticked. Is this a dip switch setting incorrect?

  5. Don't you just hate it when you have been trying to figure out something for ages trying everything you possibly can to get something working then all of a sudden when you ask for help it suddenly dawns on you what it might be. Well today was one of those days. It seems it was trying to run on my intergrated graphics and not the dedicated graphics card. Set my global options in the nvidia control panel to use the nvidia card and not the intel intergrated one. Ran it. No errors about vertexprogam. Game runs. FFS...….

Maybe this screenshot will help, just to see you have put Jennifer in the right place, ran the patch to match your res, and linked to the right file in TP?

I have attached a txt file with the output from the command line window to see if that can shed any light on the missing textures. It says about a vertex shader program and opengl error

  7. So I've been using Teknoparrot for quite a while now and have a fair few games. Most run without errors or glitches etc except for OutRun 2.

I have an nvidia card and have downloaded from numerous sources OR2 but still get the same missing graphics with the game. Anyone know how to fix? I have the latest graphics drivers too. This game has me stumped.

  8. Hi all,

I've been out of the scene for a few years and I'm so happy to see a new MFME release.

Can anyone give me a quick rundown of whats been happening?

I know the new MFME uses a new layout format .fml but all the layouts I have are from the old versions of MFME and use the .dat format which obviously now no longer work in the new emu.

Is there a conversion tool the same as one for the JPEmu .jel layouts or will the old layouts need redoing?

What techs does the new emu cover now?

    Thanks
