How to build a fruit machine based round a cheesy 1 hit wonder in one easy lesson.  I have a vague recollection of this one being in my local pub for about 10 minutes before everyone got hacked off with the noise and moaning so much it got replaced... 😆

  2. For a lo-tech it was damned addictive.  Back in the day you could always tell by the way it played that you were either going to get a streak of £20 or so in cash or £30 in tokens. (which wasn't too bad as at that time in the local pub you could buy beer with the tokens and the pub would claim the cash back from the rental company - unfortunately that only lasted a couple of years until the pub changed hands)

What I could never work out back then (and still can't now to be honest) is what actually triggers the adding of letters to fill the word REFLEX for the bonus win.  Anyone?  Anyone?  Bueller? Bueller?

when I tried them, they wouldn't work properly on Windows 10. Oh well....

yeah, Ejay was designed round the Win98 time but still worked on XP.  Win7 was iffy and yeah, Win10 - forget it.  If you don't have access to a WinXP machine then they sometimes work on a Virtualbox XP machine running on Win10 but can be very slow and stuttery.

Nice lo-tech game and inventive presentation.

Is it supposed to go into an almost endless loop of the double XXX win lines bumping down and then back up again in repeat until it spits out well over 100 simulated bucks or did I just encounter the biggest winning streak known to mankind that makes me wish it was real cash coming out?  Took almost 10 minutes until it stopped... 🙂

  5. I'd given up playing machines in the wild by the time this one was released, but an interesting thing I've noticed is that this machine uses at least one royalty free sound sample from the Dance Ejay range of dance music production software. (as I used the same sample in one of my tracks from about 20 years ago... 🙂 )  Noticed this on one other emulated machine but can't remember which one now, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was from the same manufacturer...
