  1. On Red Hot Poker - £6.00 JP - the cards are pre scripted - even if you change your holds at certain points.... You can exit with no RAM save and reload - the next ten or so cards will be the same at certain times when it wants to give a win. The fun thing here though, is that cos its a poker game - if you hold different things - you can get different wins! So 2 pair instead of a straight for example, AWP's were just Donald Ducked back in the day. This trend even continued to the £35 era - I have the video screen lo-tech Bullseye dart game saved at a point where it will give a streak of between £95 and £140 within the next 10 credits. It can pay it in very slightly different ways - but its always there. I also like getting a game close to streak - and seeing the different ways it will play out.
  2. I certainly appreciate all the hard work all designers do - without the "classics" we would never have got to the DX's So thank you one and all.
  3. Never one of my faves that machine - its just wierd.
  4. Now that you have donated, its loads of fun downloading just a few at a time anyway and playing them to death! Welcome to the site BTW - enjoy!
  5. Which means it probably would work - but for no purpose
  6. The even stopping on even was a theme on a lot of Barcrest machines. I can't think of any other great time out examples like this though Some later machines in £25 era - the darts games like Yabba Dabba had a Reel KO feature where if you could hit a 12 it was JP - I guess that would time out from a set number. I could hit the 12 nine out of ten anyway so never tried to learn it.
  7. Best thing about the emulator is this sort of thing. I mean my entire play last night was for doing something different - and look what I found...
  8. Its not that easy - cos you would have to know what all the time outs are (it wont stop on a 7 or higher if you manually hit it) And its not the easiest feature to land on anyway. Same session - I left it to time out on a 5 - but it came back to 5.
  9. Ideally playing this tonight, and set myself a mission - for me one of the best things about emulation - I can play silly beggars with stuff. Anyway - the decision was get to the bank limit by only taking end of trail JP's (not even nudge pot or 147 nudges) or any of the last four features plus autocollects on last orders. So - Pound a round - the first of the four features. First time I took it I tried to hit a number above 6 - just to see. It kept spinning after i hit and stopped on a 5 - £5 win. The second time however, I collected with a 6 showing and let it time out. It landed on 12 - and put £12 in the bank! I pretty sure it did not credit bank either. Very much illegal in the £6 JP days - anyone know of similar?
  10. I never really worried so much about methoding these in the wild. I had two - both in very busy wetherspoons - and they were just great full stop. I would often take 40-50 out of one and find it full again the next day - time after time; so I just took whatever they offered.
  11. Hi I just use V20.1 - it runs at least 95% od the stuff in both downloads and legacy downloads so the few it doesn't run I don't worry about. Happy fake slotting.
  12. £15 Barcrest and JPMs - especially the latter - some amazing games like Cracker, Impulse, Red Alert, with lots going on.
  13. Good evening - and welcome back

  15. Yeah - i think my £50 was just luck - cos it defo didn;t feel £50 happy. I like these - I think Reflex did well here.
