I'll try that out cheers.

Hiya sorry if it's been asked before.
I was trying to play gladiators and EastEnders by maygay on the old mfme emulators ie. v1.1 2.0 3.0 3.2 etc and the sounds are muffled and not clear. They worked fine on win xp but this problem seems to be with win 10.
The new emulator works fine with new games.
Any ideas folks, thanks ?

Cheers Reg, I'll have to try my PS5 controller , and see if that sorts it. I can still play the game with up down wrong way round but obviously prefer it normal. Christ !! just got to level 79 in the library stage and wild doesn't cover it , f*#; Manic !!! more like . I had the King's Bible rotating me at max power and my knives maxed to a scythe. Fireball was up to something level you'd see coming out of a volcano
lol. It was total mayhem.

Fun game this, l note that if you don't level up in a timely manner or pick best options , it can get a bit wild lol. @Reg was your joypad y axis up/down the wrong way round ? Mine strangely is and l can't reconfigure it in the options or via a config.ini file. Maybe it might just not like my joypad for some reason, anyway thanks for the game review, wouldn't have known about it otherwise, happy shooting.

Great game this Reg, can't believe you not played it before. Tip* tap jump twice to double jump. Also you gotta jump into cockpit of space craft at end of each level.
. And yes there was the usual standard spectrum port with bleeps and 2 colour palette experience for those that could bear it (which we had to) at the time.

@Chopaholic sadly I don't have the sound roms but I did put a flyer of it in the gallery in case you missed it mate. https://www.desertislandfruits.com/forum/index.php?/gallery/image/21959-ace-money-mountain/

Hello Tommy c , I don't know which image you were working with , I spent a couple of hours searching through my recents and found this one. If it's any use to you, you're welcome to use it mate.

Hey serene02 have you ever considered one of these , a Miyoo mini https://youtu.be/rpNSzOxHKMI Maybe not quite what you're looking for, as unfortunately the device doesn't seem to have a TV out , but it's a pretty cool device regardless. I wouldn't say no to one. Retro core on YouTube does review other retro devices as he lives in Japan, he tells you if their any good or if their, quote " cheap (insert country here) knock offs " :end of quote.

bit of mindless fun.Quite pretty to look at but nothing particularly different to dozens of other shooter type games.
Yes , I agree with that sentiment, besides, for me the whole "stage" then "boss" encounter which most oldskool and modern shoot-em-ups incorporate, is a powerful vice that a vast amount of games have utilised to this day. It's a winning formula/framework imo.

Did you manage to get to the cat Reg ?

Ah but in the future when we have video games in there, I wouldn't rule out a Nemesis
I do like that game
Hey John, I've been a fanatic of shmups for decades. Did you know there was a rare obscure version on the Sharp X68000 computer called Nemesis '90 Kai . I have the ROM somewhere in my 'shoot the core' folders spanning 2 decades worth of shoot-em-ups if you want to play it, or just search for it on net. here's a link for background info on it and a screenie ,

Oh before I go did you ever try the 3D version of Salamander on Mame called 'Solar Assault' by Konami.
pic from a level on it
There is a by-pass for the boot error on that game. Anyway sorry to solar "Assault" the thread just thought you might like to know, being a gradius fan.

Fantastic Tributes , very touching
.
I'll never forget the day , a Thursday it was . I was at a mansion where the guy ran an internet cafe and I hired a PC for a couple of hours and downloaded a few layouts and ROMs from the web hovel . Now this was before usb memory sticks so the only way to transport the files were by burning a cd. So imagine my anguish when I went to pay and take the cd home only to be told there was trouble with the burning software and to come back and collect it on the Saturday.
You can imagine how hard that wait would be. Somehow I made it to Saturday and my excitement was off the chart. I made my way to collect the cd, constantly worrying if it had been successfully burned or not.
When I got there the guy was holding up the cd in one of those clear plastic numbers and said "this is for you"
I said thanks and never so fast have I rushed home with something before.
I turned the pc on and transferred the files from cd to a folder , still to this day, I named "Fruitz"
I extracted Andy capp classic and fired up the emu for the first time. I'll never ever forget the SHEER JOY I felt, tinged with simple disbelief that Andy capp was ACTUALLY running on my pc in front of me. It was simply a DREAM COME TRUE , next I quickly tried Viva Espana DX and Wowwwww !!!! was just simply in Dreamland . The graphics , the sound, the reels spinning , the hold buttons flashing, Awh man it was bliss.
I still can't believe it to this day and It's all thanks to Chris "Utter Genius" Wizard , Our so greatly missed friend and exceptional coder and Dream Maker. Chris if you're watching , Thank You So So Much for all that you've given us.

@johnparker007 absolutely amazing , thanks ,that answers my question perfectly, it would really enhance the experience, immensely , especially zooming in to specific areas of the board and looking around ,then zooming out and carrying on play.
I think the "peek feature" will have @Chopaholic wearing holes at the knees of his jeans as the hard, washed out denim, collides and frictionates with the plush Westminster carpet. I wonder if we could have the seated lady attendant, glaring over from the "change booth" wondering " what's he upto on that machine , thinking something dodgy's going on lol.
Jokes aside, really look forward to the final outcome of this fantastic project jp007 , it's coming along very nicely indeed , and many thanks again.

@johnparker007 The arcade project is looking fantastic, thanks for devoting your free time to this, really very much appreciated .Can I ask out of curiosity, in the videos , when you launch arcade sim , the camera glides over the carpet to the fruit machine you chose to play and settles at a static view facing the fruit machine front on. My question is "are there any further camera controls available to the player , such as moving , rotating / panning and zooming in/out the camera at this point , a sort of free look mode or is that just not viable ?

Really enjoyed the Omega video Degsy as I'm originally from Blackpool. Left when I was 3 months old then returned at 14 years old for a couple of years. Which is when l found myself wagging school (robbin' off , bunking off) and in the arcades you mention and others besides , playing games and my first ever go on a fruit machine (that was rat race 2p) in North pier arcade. Ah those were the days late 80's. Anyway just wanted to confirm, your memory serves you well and Mr B's was in fact correct for the arcade in between Coral Island and Funland. Just on a final funny but wasn't for me, sidenote , that Sega hydraulic gyroscopic game R360 you mentioned also had an equivalent machine with Sega AfterBurner unless they're the same thing, anyway I paid my £2 and went on it with a few people watching this bizarre thing do its thing. There was no mention from the attendant that it would be a good idea to have a friend look after your on person possessions as they all ended up scattered in 360 degree directions as the machine span with wild abandon. Suffice to say coins, keys ,clipper lighters you name it ended up shall we say, cast well away, dispersed in a random fashion, if you like, from their initial location. Put simply S#*! went everywhere. Let's just say I wasn't too keen on trying to beat my highscore on that bloody machine again lol

Wow this looks mad. Amazing work there johnparker007 , thanks for developing this project it's really coming alive .
very exciting indeed
It so reminds me of 3D-ARCADE MAME from years ago. I'm sure "Spanner" made up some 3d models for fruit machines , l'm sure he'd love this.
