  1. Your patch might be very different to Andrew96 ones so doesn't prove yours won't be fine JP. Anyway, will ring around tomorrow see if I can't sort an MPU machine out for some testing J
  2. Yeah, I can look out for an MPU4 for you bud. Probably not a cloud 999, I’m not made of money J
  3. So we’d expect to see your hack to work fine and keep its percentage in mfme, we can test that if you upload your hacked roms. It will definitely mean that something else is going on with how mfme interacts with the protection. J
  4. Could you get a digital copy of them? Be interesting to just run them through mfme to see how they perform. J
  5. There are different rom versions available for different sites. How do you know your friend is not running a version that allows % changing, there are variable roms and set percentage roms that can’t change %. J
  6. What don’t I like? More testing is needed, but any machine would just need to go through a normal auto play test in mfme, the machine would just naturally find it’s percentage over x amount of spins, if there aren’t any issues obviously. J
  7. All machines have to control percentage, what’s he talking about? J
  8. Looks good to me. These do start off in an extremely good mood from a ram reset that could be why they are both slightly over. They find there target percentage from zero after a ram reset. A lot of machines from this era do. J
  9. Great work bud, especially if you find that there are no issues with the CHR patched roms you do at least. Is Andy under the impression that there is something going on when they are being run on actual hardware though? Still, you understand the assembly code and you don’t see any obvious connections to any skewed percentages…. Yet anyway, be interesting to see the end result. Ah, I just thought though, there are BWB Cloud 999 versions available I believe!!! I think Andy’s mate did specify Barcrest Cloud 999 though. J
  10. Looks like it’s settling down nicely J
  11. Where is this Vecs? There is something about it in the about box. But those comments were made when around the time of the ‘fairplay’ campaign. It states that mfme may not represent or emulate accurately. In general though I believe machines run how they should, a few quirks, a lot of which could be down to a number of factors. A real machine would be played potentially 1000’s spins a day, when you play a game in mfme you are playing it the same way or just forcing out top features as you have unlimited virtual cash, but they rarely get played normally. I’m hoping once we get shared ram states and limited funds, machines will get played in various styles. J
  12. Incidentally Cloud 999 will be very generous after a ram reset? Even so 98 after 300 in does seem very fair . J
  13. But that’s not playing tight as reported? How odd? It could of course be variance, it’s a lo tech, they didn’t drop many wins straight in so could be randomness of auto play? J
  14. Depends what version of cloud 9? The machine would play fairly tight as it saves up for a huge streak, especially for back then. Who is it Andy? Someone over at the Mecca? Do you know who hacked the roms at all? Probably not one that JP has done. J
  15. But which machine specifically has this issue Andy? Where is the proof of gameplay being affected? J
  16. @johnparker007You should be able to get an MPU4 much cheaper. Someone might even have a test rig we could club in a buy for you bud? They take up less space I would have thought Andrew might even have one. J
  17. You’d have to play it in an older version of mfme JP. Maybe 18.1? J
  18. Chris did mention that the real hardware used some fake read writes on the CHR. I can’t confirm any of this though, but maybe it accounts for those 3 x reads? Just put there to trick any would be hacker? J
  19. I echo your comments about Chris Al, he was always super cool if anything wasn’t working correctly. He would definitely tell you straight, which I admired . I’m in no way trying to taint his superb work with mfme. J
  20. We have issues with certain games that play differently under Epoch tech. In particular a machine called Simpsons (blue). In the emulator it never reaches a point were it offers the streak, which it did in the wild? A fair few strange quirks. I do remember that Chris said that the tech weren’t fully emulated, just enough to get the machines working. I don’t know how true this is in later revisions or if this could cause these strange quirks? J
  21. This was an issue with BWB, in fact Chris fixed a machine that was causing the machine to play incorrectly via the chr, I believe it was a BWB Bg Match, or Cup Final, incidentally I think it was specifically BWB machines that he had the issues with. I think it was Chopley who raised the issue with Chris, who then did fix it. But it will still exhibit the same issue in older releases of mfme I imagine. Might be worth looking for the thread that Choppers created. Think it was BWB Cup Final though. The gameplay was definitely affected J
