just through the tutorials/start up stuff, looks like it plays like fallout in level/perks etc and the button functions are nearly identical so i feel comfortable already. it has a lot of the things that i learnt to really enjoy besides the questing such as crafting and sourcing materials to acquire better weapons and variables etc i have a lot to learn and long way to go but it's already got my affection!!

Obviously I just carried on trying toget it working... and finally it is working again. So it was a Windows Update that broke it, and no amount of uninstalling/reinstalling/reconfiguring of the Perforce stuff would make it work. Bloody Microsoft and their updates that just trash software! This seems to have been the cause of all the problems: And now my Windows Updates list looks like this (partly posting as a backup for myself, I'll need to try block that Update from reinstalling) So all this means I can now log into this again So I can carry on with the actual work, what a nightmare lol Now I've got to feel like a bad person, and make up lies about why I'm returning the router to Amazon - I'd convinced myself it was to do with internal IP address forwarding, as that Windows Update happened the same week as the new BT Smart Hub router...

I recently restarted FFVII for about the 40th time. I actually meant to start IX as haven't played that for ages but VII holds a special place in my heart. I loved Fallout 3, never really got into Fallout 4. Probably ought to give that a shot. Never played Skyrim, so will be interested to hear @woodsy's opinion. Not that I can play at the moment, I sold my gaming laptop last week and am still waiting on my new parts from CCL for my new rig. Going to run a 1080Ti for the moment as the GPU prices are picking up again following Nvidias awful 4080 release. Plus the age of games I play these days will run fine on a 1080Ti even at 4K.

there's a jolly dif boys outing in the works if you want to get involved in the spring.. think it's going to be margate area..

i have watched this grow from nearly the beginning and personally love the direction its going, i cant imagine the hard work john puts into it, but keep going man cant wait to what the next update brings for us

Thanks for all your replies! Yeah, I'm a sad old git. I'm in my 50s, live on my own, and still enjoy Christmas a lot. Though a good stock of whisky or gin also helps...

Ugh, well got the new router, got it up and running with a few PCs, and it didn't make any difference I've now spotted that I don't have Perforce service running on the server, assumed Helix was enough but apparently not when compared to dev PC Fed up with this now - it stopped working after BT guy swapped out the router, and I must have spent over 6 hours trying to get it working again. Hate networking stuff, going to have to take a break for a few days - I just want to get back to the actual work, but I can't, so everything's on hold.
