Now before anyone asks, @andy-1 very kindly gave me permission to release this version and sent me the unlocked version so I could include my thanks etc. Anyhow, as always, the first thanks must go to the late, great Wizard for his amazing emulator. Massive thanks to @andy-1 for the unlocked version and help finding the better images that I used for the symbols and cash amounts under the reels as the original ones were partly lit and some were unlit and I ended up trying to fix them but they didn't look very good so in the end I used the better images and although they're small, they look much better. I was going to release it tomorrow but given the rubbish weather and the awful experience I had with Tesco mobile (I won't go into it on here) I thought I'd release it so it hopefully cheers everyone up Hope you all enjoy this machine as I enjoyed working on it

  2. Has there been a machine that you have played in the past which may also be emulated that always left you skint back in the day but you didn’t mind losing to it because you enjoyed playing the game? Mines was Crazy Cobra, not always bad but mostly had losses. Playing this just now and have only realised running two games side by side that if you go higher on one and lower on the other, that if it wants you to lose then that be your fate. Enjoyed playing this in the wild, even if it was on the machines terms!

  4. For me it was Astras, Play The Joker. Remember playing as a novice and whatever it gave me going for the best streak, gold I think. Was a total fool, didn't really understand fruit machines at all at that point. However, you soon learn when you've gone broke long enough.

  5. Players dream crazy cobra..... along with just about every RED from £15 to £70..... I know what you mean though.......a machine you would play even if your mate had just BATTERED it.....

  6. I agree with red features not (by themselvea) being a great sign, unless particular ones were showing. Then again I was never the sharking sort - never have been. I'd have had no chance in busy locations / cities, but like I say, I was out in the sticks and most locals were clueless. I was more of a moth, drawn towards the blinking lights without any concern about what had gone on before. I was going to play in any case, win or lose. Quite a few machines you could force your way out of a bad position anyway. Not all though, did have a few expensive awakenings along the way (normally the rare occasion something 'doable' turned and I was clueless - and also unwilling to walk away due to my competitive streak!) Never had a formal diagnosis of anything but I can certainly sympathise with the idea of sensory overload!

  8. As for the knowledge, I just played after watching amount in and the bonus for entry and on the board, lol, I was a bit of a shark, but always very discretely. I also have Aspergers so being around people usually leaves me in a heightened state of awareness due anxiety and being generally overwhelmed but pushing onward. Was an advantage though as being in a busy arcade my senses like hearing become kind of super sensitive/amplified, this was pretty horrible experience but I learnt to use the situation to hyper focus on sounds of the machines to figure out what was actually happening on a given machine without even looking.Sounds crazy I know, its a job to describe, apart from sensory overload.Certain things kind of seemed to tell slightly, like say getting skill bonuses. Red features was'nt really something Iused to measure happiness as it could show plenty when its on its arse really.

  10. Same, back in the day at least. Out here in the sticks I don't think anyone was particularly clued up on them, nobody seemed willing to push the gambles, or knew the feature values. Not so relevant now, as I've found with my £70 Balti Towers. The feature values are massively out of kilter. Most of the top features, even on red (upgraded) seem to be capped at £15 with the odd one that might have £25 potential - doesn't help that the red 7s only pay £25. You basically have to force the top out. I've put mine on 98% for shits and giggles and it's basically £80 in for £70 out, apart from the odd time it does a £105 top. On the earlier Reds, even if you weren't forcing the top out, several of the upgraded features were jackpot capable. Just felt like it had more 'value' to be extracted with knowledge.

  12. I always did well off of Red's, didn't know any emptiers, but I just seemed to know when to play and when not to play. Can't remember ever getting truly stung by one.

  14. Ahh nice choice @woodsy- have just downloaded the file, and will be back with the results in a while... Absolutely love the feature board music on this, tho would of been better on another tech as i find impact music to sound really flat plus whenever you move the music jumps a bit... nonetheless... bloody good music tho! All the best, Gary aka MPU_FIVE

  19. Yes if the first symbols always become the ones to compare against and that pool of symbols diminishes that will cause some issues, I can see that. I guess the more passes you do, starting at different places in the list would yield better results too if you could compare the results from each pass. By the way, I appreciate you don't need advice or ideas, I'm just thinking out load and sharing. Also, does it need to be more accurate than your fuzzy compare (that looks really good) if it's just to speed up a manual process of re-selecting? Is it really not good enough..? I know you're a perfectionist though Good luck !

  20. I get the reasons why the industry doesn’t want to move to putting older lower jps in pubs etc but i agree, buy your pint them have a play on a donkey Kong or a pinball wizard or cluedo or each way nudger what’s not to like!! Maybe there should be (in light of the current climate) sone form of reduced duty for pubs that buy their own lower jp machines. Or maybe there already is. Pretty sure it would be popular generally, but like I said (and as many here have articulated very well across the forums) the industry is unlikely to shift that way. Maybe the continued success of retro arcades will be evidence enough that it’s a good thing. I almost feel like glueing my face to the m25 and waving a “bring back dels millions” flag. Almost…..

  22. I would love to see £5 (or even £10) proper machines in pubs - buy a pint and have a play lose a few or win a couple of quid. Would suit me down to the ground! I'm a sucker for the 10p £5 games they have on one of the quiz cabinets.

Not a new layout from me but a larger version of the layout i did back in 2013/14. Someone sent me this larger version which has been upscaled so the quality is slightly better than the original, also newer crisper reel symbols added etc Enjoy it all over again
