  1. Good Afternoon All, It's been brought to my attention that there is a bit of a challenge on the Arcade Simulator getting permissions for some layouts. We are a scene of over twenty years and there are challenges of obtaining permissions from people that have long left the scene and literally are no longer part of it through choice be it their own or perhaps another reason. The recent passing of @Wizard brings our own immortality into question. Looking at this site I’ve already set the scene for what to do if I vanish after ninety days have passed with this site and I’ve not been seen either here or on YouTube. So with that, the horrible truth is we could be facing the challenge of trying to find designers who are no longer with us. The Arcade Simulator by @johnparker007 is the future of emulator in terms of something new and what it brings. Based on this, I’ve made a decision for anything that any layouts on this site can be used if the owners are unavailable to give permission from May 31st 2022. This allows a chance to reach out to them to try to get permissions – but if they can’t – there is a way forward. We must always try first to get direct permission but if we cannot, this is how this site will support the Arcade Simulator. The Arcade Simulator must not include work from this site if it turns into a paid product unless there is direct permission given from a designer to the author of the Arcade Simulator. MFME must never be included bundled within Arcade Simulator, it is available from this site as per the authors wishes, @Wizard. By default, any DX (graphical layout) is given permission given through this thread after May 31st 2022 if it has not already been covered by a separate request. Permission is immediately rescinded and the layout must be removed within 30 days of request if: a) the designer returns to the scene and asks for their layouts to be removed b) the Arcade Simulator turns commercial and is officially sold for a cost The ruling for inclusion covers no classic layouts unless direct permission is given - they are excluded. This does not cover any layouts from DADsFME who we host or DX’cellent who we host – direct permission is needed from @dad or @Pook. They are seperate sites that we are indirectly and directly linked to. If a designer requests their layout removed – post to this thread only the layout and their name as a designer. If the designer has reason to want to remain anonymous, contact @johnparker007 or myself directly. This is the sensible thing to do to support the Arcade Simulator and secure permissions for work to be included in this non-profit project. The list of permissions will be maintained by @johnparker007 in anyway that he considers fit. This ruling fixes the problems of legacy ( and very legacy ) permissions and allows a way for it to be reversed and more importantly allows @johnparker007 to spend his time doing real work and not stuck for extended windows in PMs. Reg.

  2. Version v2022

Hi all! Pleased to announce my latest release; Astra Bullion Bars Arena 4 Player - 30p £25 82% payout - using BB Deluxe io3 roms, lamps are done sympathetically as per Arena Builds - as Arena roms are not in public domain. This is the 2022 layout I have made, I did create a BB Arena a while ago, which was sadly leaked online - it was not released by me as I was not happy with the original quality, so its taken me a long while to redo the entire build, whilst not perfect (uses PTArena buttons lol) I hope it is still enjoyable. Usual shortcuts apply - A for Auto Start. 0 - £1 coin in. No Note acceptors added/enabled to keep layout simple. Please use v19.8 MFME for this to play and run correctly. - DEDICATED TO WIZARD Enjoy all! P.S. for those who are new, open the Master Top file in MFME v19.8 for all the players to open together. Next re-visit will be Party Time Bingo £5 and £25, or Party Time Arena on £5/£8/£10/£15/£25 JPS which aside from £25 have not been released in the other JP formats - and using the earlier rom format watch this space! 3. A quick update, some JPM Vogues are in progress, though they're on hold while I've been working with @spa to get much more official cabinet names, dimensions from his large manuals, flyers and then carefully doing cross referencing. So big thanks to Spa for getting stuck into that work with me, it's been a big help in getting more solid foundational info about original manufacturer cabinet models. To be fair, there's a some variation in measurements, and some mistakes/discrepencies in the manuals/flyers, this may have changed over the manufacturing life of the cabinet, but we certainly know more now than we did a few days ago! Used to see the same in Pinball manuals, they never expected that decades later there would be people poring over them, trying to digitally recreate the machines - they probably assumed the machines would be disposed of at the tip after 10-15 years... Here's a zoomed out screenshot of the new version of the Cabinets sheet that this info has been feeding into: Next there is some work to do to build a cleaner newer version of the Machines sheet... and then I'll be able to get back to converting those new Vogues... The new Vogues being attempted are:

  4. And to prove karma is a true thing, I was in elephant for a rave and I put a few quid in the Noel of the time in spoons and cash or bust went £70. Huge profits, I walked to the bar hands full of coins to change up, the Barman ushered me to another till, as I walked around the stools at the bar on the floor was a £50 note!! I had to get it with my hands full of coins!! Massive profit and my mate was at the table and I gave him £30 out of it!! 3 minute

WIZARD - RIP thanks to @infection for the images and support. thanks to @captainhaddock for the classic which i lamped from.. 3 versions and only 4 dodgy decals the difference between them, that and my attempted wording recreations. it's me after all... how strange that 5-15 they still have the same cash ladder?!?!? madness but allows for multi stake play and there is a bit of fun to be had but all together a basic game tbh they are probably a bit happy as been on auto play mainly.. any errors please inform me and i'll update.. there are three lamps i've not used and will not be adding as not needed. decided not to blend the top logo for gameplay reasons and feel free to change that yourselves. got a few images recently to work on so have a couple of my own to do then back to the wip requests.. thanks for the ideas and belief.. best wishes WOODSY

  7. You are right, no band reels yet. None of it will be an issue, it's just time to develop those things (also disc reels, 3d prism lamps etc...) - I am just doing machine with standard reels for now, to keep things moving In the future there will be user-created arcades sharable through online (Arcade Sim World) - so users can name their arcades themselves. For now, mine is just test arcade so not going into that stuff yet

  8. Best way to deal with that is get resources and rebuild, that would solve the problem instead of hunting people down. @johnparker007 you don't need mine or Bungles permission with any of ours here you just knock yourself out.

  9. To add take the fabled site fruit-emu where most of the older layouts came from. The author or submitter of layouts over there isn’t necessarily the true creator of that layout. Sometimes a bit of digging either by the screenshot or release thread brings up a name or six even then the alias could’ve changed several times in the duration of their stay.

  10. Aww yeah, am desperate to see my what a carry on emulated, as the poor actual machine does'nt work properly & I'm too thick and stupid to know how to fix it... Mr P once said he'd fix it, but time passed for whatever reason, then i contacted him again and he wanted to buy it off me, but i'm never selling... EVER. So unless i can find someone else who'll fix it, it sits in the corner, sadly... Would love to see Mr. Do emulated too, and Pennies from Heaven... Electrocoin had some lovely hi tech's back in the mid to late 90's. Dreamland in Margate had a Mr. Do, remember playing it loads... it played a tune every time you span the reels, and to get the most time out of my money, i'd listen to the tune completely before spinning the reels again, lol. As you say, hopefully, MAME may come to the rescue one day, or maybe a new fruit machine emulator may come about... I wonder what happened with Guitar and his Amber project?... or maybe when JohnParker007 has finished his arcade simulator project he may make an emulator all of his own! - well it's nice to dream! Gary.

  11. One of my favourite machines back in 1998 - in the Ship Inn, Margate.. It's funny how fruit machines can take you back to happier times... need to get my life on track and prove to myself happy times can still be in the future and not all locked away in the past, mind! Getting free of my horrid, evil job would be a start, but feel trapped due to having a mortgage... anyway, thanks for the layout and the happy memories it provides... cheers, Gary.

  12. In most cases, they were basically an "alternative" way to jackpot a clubber. Both being maxed doesn't necessarily mean they're ready to drop, since it's possible just to set them to max when you reset the machine, and technically still have to "build" to jackpot level (you just dont see it). However if they've built up over time, probably more likely to drop, but of course not guaranteed. The reserve, presumably, is just to set the cashpot back to having something in it, so it's not at zero for the next player that comes along.

  14. If you only have the version in the downloads here it will be straight v20. If you've never run the update, it won't have updated to version v20.1 which you need to update to, to avoid a lot of the newer layouts not loading. Check the about screen in the emulator and see if it says v20 or v20.1. If you've already got v20.1 then it's obviously something else. Let us know.

  17. Or the top box showing green edging A. Edit mode, window/ Original Size / borderless mode if only the top box loading then you’ll need to load them all and manually B. firstly open mfme 1. load top box.gam, this will open just the top box part. 2. next open another instance of mfme and load “slave 1.gam this should bring up slave 1 on screen, if so position it to where it should be next , for the other three slaves, repeat step 2. If successful you should see a top box and four units in their relevant positions, If they show green edges follow stage, A.!! For each slave unit if they look like what’s shown in the uploaded image above you’ve done good, finally press Alt + L this will link the machines to the top box this is done so when you open this again via mfme you only need to open the top box.gam and the rest should follow. This is written via phone so may not be totally correct

  18. Had this one in my local years ago although I’m sure it was 25 quid jp, or was there an older “open the box” years before?

  19. First try using the update option in MFME, File/Check for Updates. If that doesn't do anything, then follow the below. When you install MFME, a file is created in the MFME installation folder, called gamesv20.0.db, make sure it exists and is not set to read only for instance. Another copy of that file, will also be created, where you select your main game folder, in the game manager. So click on game manager, then on database, then set the folder where you keep your games. If you keep your games in individual folders say Mfme/Games/Barcrest, Mfme/Games/Maygay, then just set the folder as the parent folder Mfme/Games Then do a scan all.

  20. Jumping Jack, such a simple idea for a game, with as simplest graphics, you'll ever see. But it had one of those, just one more go vibes about it.

  21. Hmm it has been doing that to me lately too. Nothing you're doing wrong. Next time you load it go do control alt del and get windows tasks up and select each slave and click maximise. Once done each one will fill screen up. Then in each slave go to window tap and click original size then move into place. The green or blue back ground press f1 it should then go.

  25. It's crazy how good this is looking now. Well done to everyone involved. Just need to fill my room with BO and empty my wallet, and I could mistake it for a real arcade.
