  2. Tech update I've found a way to mitigate the 'black screen pop-in' I was getting on the video game screens, when the machines entered the display, usually from fast left/right 'head movements'. It's done by having a second wider frustum to use for pre-activating the videos, so the black screen is still actually happening every time, it's just that it's happening off screen to the left/right so is now effectively fixed by being hidden from view (the handy thing is that it's only adding to playing overhead which is pretty low with other optimisations so far, the average number of expensive seeks actually stays the same). Test video showing the black screen pop-in issue fixed: (warning, may cause dizziness!) Has a very modest CPU cost (maybe 5% on my system I think, not thoroughly tested) - so will probably end up as an graphics option that can be disabled/adjusted if required on low CPU power systems. Here's a freeze frame from the video recorded before the fix, showing an example of the temporary black screens of death after I've just rapidly 'turned my head' left:

thanks wizard as always. thanks to @Tommy c for the lamp help and the gorgeous reels in this upscaled layout, the existing DX was converted from my fond memory machine JPeMu and last edited in fme 3.0. It's the 3rd in the 3-11 series that if you find spinning can never lose on if played without collecting from the bank! as you all know i'm doing the games I love, but this was a arduous beast, the notes themselves have fekking 6 lamps each in many ffs, then there's the secret red lamps. I'm loving these upscales, but the flyers although high res are still just flyers, grainy, noisy, not true to life but I try my best and if anyone can improve the flyers please let me know.. next up will be a useful mfme example, I myself find that I play these differently as it's not real money I am free to lose as I wish, however irl some games need to be banked from small wins in between offers for jp's like red alert for example.. The best example of that was the next release I am planning.. G FORCE!! it's a game that plays better if you collect and use your skill to get jp's from XXX features and roll up/down to achieve them and arrows. anyways the usual shortcuts apply, all errors and mistakes please send in writing via the release thread and allow 28 hours for reply WOODSY

  6. The model village amusements Great Yarmouth has something similar, they are all on old penny’s which you buy something like 20 old penny’s for a pound to use on the machines

  7. Im sure in one episode The Major actually plays the damn thing....... at least in the background anyway..... Incidentally - for anyone who does appreciate the retro vibe - Southport Pier has a cafe/bar at the end. and one half of this is an "arcade" which is more of a museum. There is about 25-30 old old old machines - all in working condition, and you can buy old pennies to play them with. Its pretty cool actually.

  9. They spin certain numbers when they are ready like JPMs. With these it's red numbers and 1 and 12. Also 2 and 11 should mean it's ready. There is a number runner feature on most of them (but not Darts Marathon) and if it's red then it should be Jackpot. Also there is like a Wild Thing feature on them where you just have to hit the wild anywhere in the window. I don't think there are many of these games about now. In fact I don't know of any.

  12. More audio fettling Improved drop off, minor code tweaks, fixed normalising, test in typical packed videogame arcade layout: Next I have some optimisations (view angle per cabinet model for screens, to take advantage of the virtual screen being 'inside' the cabinets, will help looking down long lines of cabs... also setting in machine config if it has attract audio, and doing video sync processing differently accordingly, along with of course saving a little CPU since it's not rendering/reverbing silent audio streams)...
