Next up this slot is still found up n down the country but was very popular back in the day, its Super Red Bar this is using concept roms as the originals aren't emulatable due to certain security on then, but appears to play a good game. like the £70 version dx'ed by @Multi Retro Man the lamps aren't totally correct but seam to light ok. thanks goto @hitthesix for the classic i used in making this to @Mazza500 for font id for the re-written cash decals to @Wizard without this man's genius we'd be twiddling our thumbs wondering what to do on a wet afternoon. God bless you!!! i hope you're looking down on us knowing you're legacy is still going strong! Shortcuts are as standard, Plays in MFME V20.1 Enjoy and Happy Gaming!!!!

  2. At least you have one PC to play it on! No magic unfortunately, generally if you are struggling to run MFME you're going to be struggling to run arcade sim (which is also running MFME in the background, it doesn't do its own low-level emulation). ArcadeSim is on average going to need a bit more power than MFME, though it comes down to things like how many CPU cores, what graphics card, whether you're running a DES machine, etc etc... between the two programs, they're using your CPU and GPU quite a bit. But yeah, running on on underpowered machines is generally going to cause the bounce - but you can disable Reel Physics and the bouncing will be gone

  3. i had excessive bounce on a weaker laptop.Takes over 4 mins for mfme to load up normally(everything takes ages) let alone in the arcade and the betcoms run slowly .I was hoping for some magic that they would work better in the arcade but my machine just has too low a spec. On my shadow pc it works like a dream.

  4. Buttons arrived super quick from China (totally unexpected), I had already prepared the base cabinet, and today I've assembled everything! I just need to cover the mini pc power hole and I'd like to put a flashing led stripe around the machine to colour the thing a bit more... like my mini pinball, it's not a pro building but it does the work. Here some pics during the cutting and paint. Next it needs a solid base and a stool and it's finished... I was tempted to put also shooting games but I think I'll stay with fruits and reels

  5. What's interesting, is I remember Chico and I remember playing it a lot. But when it comes to the gameplay, I would have never have remembered anything about it. I actually thought it was another Fun On The Run and The Heat Is On clone.

  6. Just a quick post to say thanks to @Tommy c for the great Casino Crazy £1000 Jackpot layout. Brilliant layout, and it's brought back many memories of playing Casino Crazy £250 in the snooker club, many years ago. I've spent a few hours so far trying to drop the £1000 jackpot, which as yet, has eluded me. I will get that jackpot!! Just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed playing it, and thanks for the layout @Tommy c As always thanks go to the late Wizard, for the emulator.

  7. Have now sorted all menus/UI to be scalable across resolutions - so those with 1440p / 4K monitors etc will be able to use ArcadeSim at their native res including the Arcade Editor when the next patch goes out (hopefully also fixing @serene02 's big grey square issue ). Also wrote a persistent User Settings system, and hooked up some simple toggles for now in a new in-game UI. For the graphics settings, I'll need to do a more complex menu with tabs etc as there will be more settings to come. Here's a quick demo of the Ceiling Lights / HUD / Reel Physics graphics settings being tested (Some of the settings in the video are for features I haven't made yet).

  8. Yes it makes you think you actually got killed on the invincible board but then it resurrects again! The hi lo thing is also the same on a normal board, so it's basically a guaranteed continue.

So here it is my first layout (well technically second as my first was Rich & Famous many many moons ago). Its been great fun to be able to do layouts again especially with the new tools in MFME. Lamping is so much easier nowadays compared to years ago! Decent photos were used for stitching together and the reels were recreated from scratch. NAME: Overload MANUFACTURER: Barcrest CABINET: Genesis SYSTEM: MPU 5 STAKE: 30p 85% £25 Jackpot Thanks to the following for help with the layout: @Wizard For the greatest emulator ever coded. @Steveir For the classic layout which I used for the lamp numbers and configuration. @infection For pointing me in the direction of the artwork @BL4K For the YouTube video which I used many times for reference @vectra666 For help with the overlays and testing @slotsmagic For the reel images @bungle For Lamping help and general guidance. Finally thanks to the following for Beta testing and spotting some silly mistakes: @Reg @Chopaholic @wearecity @vectra666 @slotsmagic

  12. Cheers John, by the time you have finished I would have my new set up done with a more high end system so it can handle everything. Does your AS require more power than MFME? I would of said yes because of all the different attracts and interaction with the interface but don't quote me on that as is just a sheer guess. Like I said it most probably has the excess bounce because the lappy is limping a bit (I must learn not to bash the space bar for the skills as the motherboard can't handle it). Originally had lag on BIG 50 but now it is all the BWB video ones too including ScreenPlay so it is nothing to do with your end or big man's MFME, defo my end. Zippy

  13. Thanks man I've started up a Sound tasks board, and added it to the list. The other long term sound plan is that machines can randomly be played (by bots etc) - where they'll be playing back a several minute gameplay loop with sound (both fruit machines and video game machines)... so then the sound will be mixed down in 3d, so along with some distance-based reverb should sound quite like a real arcade No rush mate, these options needed to go in anyway - so all in your own time ...you should be able to get it working a bit better on your laptop. The excessive reel bounce - I've seen it before myself, before I'd done all the optimisations - so it was really straining my PC. I may have a look at rewriting it at some point, to cope with low framerates... not sure how doable that is though without introducing lag...

  14. @johnparker007 that's ace man, friggin ace, will fuck with it at the weekend as workload here has gone through the roof then I am taking mum away for a week so have to pack for both of us, so I'll jump on Friday/Saturday night. P.s. I know my PC needs plugging into the National Grid, just wondered if anyone else had the excessive bounce on the reels? Zippy

  15. Wonderful as ever on the udpate, thank you. Quick question - would you consider a long point in the future an option to play custom MP3 files in a folder randomly in the background ? I know this could be done with other apps etc, but looking to get the 80's feel back in the arcade if that makes sense ? No crashes here on my PC BTW and just been enjoying Greese by @Tommy c.

  16. I've uploaded another patch, so when ArcadeSim is next started it gets the following updates: - all UI adjusted so that it will run across a range of native desktop resolutions (tested from 1366x768 up to full 4K within Unity) - some setting are available from a new ingame menu. Pressing escape when not playing a machine brings up the menu @serene02 hopefully this will fix your grey square issue, fingers crossed There's a new Installer exe, so probably best to do the full uninstall/delete folders and start fresh by downloading the latest. @Mort there's an Invert Y Axis option under controls, hopefully that works as you were asking about earlier @Big J If it was just the wildly bouncing reels glitching that was the main (performance-related) issue on your laptop, you can disable: - Reel Physics ...and that should fix those. You can also improve performance (a bit), by disabling some/all of these: - Bulb Ramp/Decay - Ceiling Lights - V-Sync

  20. EDIT......Do as Dad says first, if it doesn't work, then do the below. 1/ Open the emulator and load the top box. 2/ Then open the emulator again (just click on the mfme file again and it will load another instance of the emulator) and load a slave. 3/ Repeat step 2 twice more to open up the other 2 slaves. So you have the top box and the 3 slaves loaded. 4/ Left click on the top box and hold down the ALT key on your keyboard and while holding it down, press L on the keyboard. 5/ You will see a message saying 3 games linked on the top box and game linked on the slaves. 6/ Press CTRL Q on the keyboard to close everything down. 7/ Open up the top box and the 3 slaves should load, as well. Once you have the top box and 3 slaves open, then follow the instructions in my previous post about resizing and moving everything in place.

  21. The mk4 hopper will require a relay and a 24v power source. The azkoyen parallel hopper is far easier to setup (no relays and takes a 12v power source). You'll need a pack of leds to go in the buttons, reference to such is in 123's build i believe. Just make sure the pacdrive is the "special" as this powers up with everything in the off position, which is needed for hopper setup. The wiring loom that the people who sell the ipac/pac drive came in handy for me, as I am sh.....not so good at that sort of thing. Pre made wires with dupont ends on them from ebay came in handy too, but you can make these yourself if you are profficient and have the tools. @No1Stoney has done a diagram for the coin mech you suggested, which is easy to follow and works! People like @Amusements, @WibbleWobble, @Regand Stoney have all done great work on projects like this, and will probably be able to help you out more than i can! Good luck in your quest.

  23. I can’t get the slaves to Load with the top box, only one of the other, do I need to put the slaves in the same folder as the top box? Truly just can’t figure it out on my own soz

  25. Volcano will randomly light up the BWB button during the feature. If you press it, you go invincible. There's nothing you have to collect or do in order for it to happen.

  26. Once you have the 4 question marks, hi-lo to go does still do the resurrection thing. It definitely doesn't kill you off.

  30. Ironically i was just about to post about Spiker, once you're invincible and you land on Game Over, it'll do the "Game Over sequence" then light back up invincible to let you continue. Had no idea about the Hi/Lo thing tho.

  31. Spiker the Biker could kill you on hi lo continue on an invincible board. You had to go the way of which one lit first. Lotta Luck and clones gave you invincible on mid feature as you were going round the board.

  32. Didn't Only Fools and Horses have a 'license to trade' or something? It came after Cops & Robber's Informer, but wasn't that far behind. The 1st 'red board' i saw (i.e you know JP is guaranteed as soon as you start the feature) was it's a knockout, followed closely by all those similar era Maygays - Trivial Pursuit, Great Escape... Totally agree - seemed very weird. Maybe the code/concept was licensed out, or resold.

  33. Hi The first machine that had an IM that could turn on during the feature i think was BFM Cops and Robbers where you could get informer when landing on the last Cop square on the board instead of killing you off.
