Please find attached a small layout mod for Reg's brilliant CCnR DX. The purpose of this originally was to simply test different ROM sets and sort the versions we had. I made some small changes to the existing DX to facilitate this work, and with Reg's permission it made sense to now release these to the scene for anyone who has an interest in playing the CCnR game at different stakes/prizes/rom revisions. Notes: 5 DX's using different ROM revisions: 5p-£75 (750-190 v9.1) (ROM date = 20/01/1994) 10p-£100 (750-628 vK.1) (ROM date = 02/02/1996) 20p-£150 (750-154 v5.3) (ROM date = 16/11/1993) 20p-£200 (750-118 v1.2) (ROM date = 20/07/1993) 25p-£250 (750-859 vL.1) (ROM date = 02/09/1996) Lamp masks Blended lamps on win matrix bottom glass Pay-out custom sounds Meter effects Changed colours on Dot matrix and 7 segs to match original machine a bit closer (personal preference) Reel gradients Added one of Reg's casino backgrounds for ambience in F3 (full screen) mode BUT original art remains if you want to drag it all back into view (the reel bands on the side art have been added as an image to this download post) All ROMs are included as a separate download with a visual guide AutoPlay profile added and used to get CP's full around £3000/£4000 IN Added flyer/cabinet/game photos and .db files for MFME Game Manager This mod was released with Reg's approval, and the credit must go to him for the original classic and DX layouts. Cheers, Mort.

  3. Your project is really coming along nicely. You cant beat doing it yourself! In the end, you get all the satisfaction of a working project:) I noticed you are using 15 illuminated buttons, so I assume you are only going to add one hopper (Unless you are using 2 PacDrives (16 outputs each)) Just in case you had not thought of it already?......I would recommend adding a few hidden buttons (non illuminated) (esc) (F3) (F6) as I have found these invaluable on my set up.

  4. Slow progress, but update on a dry fit of the cabinet and construction of the button console, which will attach to the bottom. Worth the effort, but cabinet cutting and design is a real learning curve for me, many mistakes... but MDF is cheap:) It's starting to come together, when full assembled I will be looking to cover with vinyl rather than paint.

Well here's a DX of Red X, there are some points to note here which I will look to sort out on future layouts! 1) I have used a lot of blended lamps. I hope it runs well for you, it runs fine for me. If you PC does struggle with it, let me know! 2) I really needn't have made the layout at 2160px tall, especially when my base art was a grainy flyer! 3) If you open the doors you will need to enter EDIT mode and go to the right of the layout graphics, where you will find a button called 'LOCK', and a checkbox under it. To clear the DOOR LOCKED alarm you can just click the 'LOCK' button. If that doesn't clear it, you'll need to check the checkbox under it. With those bits out of the way - I hope this is a fully functional DX for you. It works fine for me! It's not perfect but I think it's about the best I can manage at the moment. Hopefully better resources appear at some point RED-X_DX.zip

  11. Thanks Amusements, agreed i am getting a great deal of satisfaction from this build for sure. Thanks for the heads up on the buttons, there are a couple of extra buttons on the sides of the console (pinball flipper style) and based on your comment, i will also add a couple hidden on the bottom - so appreciated.! At this stage i don't think i will be adding a hopper, but perhaps my next build Hopefully i can replicate the finish on this similar to my arcade bartop, but that machine CNC'd and my cuts are not as good...:)

Here is Up and Under by Project Coin set on 20p play £6 Jackpot. There are no big images of this so the names for features are possibly incorrect but is still an enjoyable game. There is a twin machine to this called playing a round, hopefully the roms turn up one day. Thanks go to Hitthesix for the image and help to create this layout Wizard for his amazing emulator Shortcuts are in the notes Hope you enjoy Please use MFME v20 or above
