  1. "Wine for Wizard - Update" Just a note to say on behalf of this campaign things are going rather well and a many thanks for people that have dipped in so far. It's worth noting that some people have asked not to have badges so don't assume just because there is no badge they have not supported - the badge is default unless asked for it to be removed or the smaller one. Look at my profile for example here - I have absolutely supported but live in a world of no badges as I am just an Account Monkey ! I will not be given a raised total at any point - I just want this to be a surprise for Wizard when we hit the two month point. It also allows me to round it up by adding whatever to a nice round figure at the end. For anyone that has yet to support and donate Wine for Wizard, please take a look at the attached PDF. This document was about twenty years ago. I have updated it a little to swap names around ( IE - old users to their new user name ) but that is it. The point I want you to do is look at all the great DX's that we have from current .FML Artists and read through and look at the first emulations that were done. There is a section about the first memories of Fruit Machine Emulation and what people played. Take a look at the comments by a gentlemen called Michael Lynch. He has a picture of one of the first versions of what is now MFME, look how far it's come. If the graphical side is not far enough - then consider the techs. It used to be called FRUIT.EXE if I recall and it only every did two techs, you can pretty much have everything now. Rome was not built in a day, it took many years. MFME was not built in a day and it is still going and being built twenty years later. For everyone that has supported the Wine for Wizard drive, thank you. This is the first time in twenty years that we have ever done anything like this for the man that gave us everything on Fruit Machine emulation. If you are a lurker who has some cash to spare thinking it's OKAY others will support this thank you ( AKA - Wine for Wizard ) campaign then please remember that is has been built over twenty years with zero reward and do what you would hope would be done for you if roles were reversed once you have looked at the PDF attached. Thank you. 20 Years Ago.pdf

  6. THIS SHOULD WORK IF FOLLOWED STEP BY STEP. I'VE KEPT IT SIMPLE TO MAKE IT OPEN TO I HOPE MOST PEOPLE - OLD, YOUNG AND OFF-WORLD. LOADING MFME FOR THE FIRST TIME Due to lots of new members who are looking to play games that have recently joined, there seems to be some problems, at least in my PM's in getting games running. Here is a real basic guide for getting everything running. 1. The first thing you need is MFME, go to the link below. Downloads You can download the emulator from there, below is what to look for. For version v19 and later of MFME, you run the installer that you have downloaded and it will auto install for you. Once installed, you need to udpate. Click on the About button and then the Check for Updates button. 2. For older versions of MFME, v6.1 and below you need to install June 2010 DirectX runtime. Direct X Runtime Link 3. or older versions of MFME, v6.1, once downloaded you will have a file in your downloads directory. 4. When extracted you will have a folder that looks like this below. TAKE NOTE ON HOW YOU EXTRACT THE FILE AS YOU DO THIS FOR LAYOUTS. 5. Now you want to play a layout, go to wherever you want to and download a layout as before, the download link is in GREEN. If you don't know how to open a .RAR file, check point 3. and 4. that showed you how to open it for MFME v6.1 6. Whatever method you used on step five ( 5. ) to extract MFME, YOU REPEAT ( DO AGAIN AS BEFORE ON STEP 5 ) ON THIS ITEM YOU HAVE DOWNLOADED. 7. You should have something like this. I have shown in GREEN the .GAM file. This is what you load into MFME. 8. With MFME running that you downloaded in step four ( 4. ), click on FILE, LOAD GAME and browse to the LOCATION ( AS SHOWN ON STEP 8 ) where the .GAM file is located and then you CLICK ON IT. I have shown in GREEN where to do this. 9. Your game will be loaded as below. You are on YOUR OWN FROM HERE AND THERE IS NOTHING ELSE I CAN SHOW YOU when it comes to lauching and running a game within MFME.

Following on from the club edition i did a while back here's its baby brother in a video/reel based forma. Thanks to Clo/Westy for the classic used for the lamping numbers eBay for the main image used and to innfection for images sent via pm from spa's drive thingy If you've a shitty laptop like me you'll notice it suffers slow downs when the reels spin this can be annoying but thats my fault for having a slower lappy, this happens on various Scorp5/adder5 layouts. if you've a super duper Pc then you should be fine,. Shortcuts are the same as the classic version(s) Play this in Mfme v19'8+ Enjoy and Happy Gaming!!!

  10. Good Morning All, On a day where I have to do some reflection on my job ( for a task I've got to do later ) it's also time to reflect on this site and why we are here. It is MFME that @Wizard has given us. We've thanked @Amot for the very generous supply of resourses, but the elephant in the rom is what about MFME, what about @Wizard who puts tireless hours into the pot to make this happen - the decks need to be balanced here to show our thanks and this is how I propose to do this. Due to my job, family and other commitments and expecations I am only slowly starting to get back into MFME. This site actually takes a lot of admin with the new souls, but that is my cross to bear but is nothing considering the man hours that Wizard has put into coding MFME. I am also trying to pick up some legacy programming from about thirty years ago - so my time is pretty full... ...now consider this... ...my time maybe full but it does not compare to all the hours that have gone into MFME for the past twenty years and still go on. I don't think anybody can really understand the depth of work here - even in the dark years of MFME with no product - Wizard was coding on and on and on. It's time to say thank you as a scene and the below is a statement as admin of this site what I am going to do at Desert Island Fruits. "Wine for Wizard" From the time of this post until the end of June 2020, all donations given will be given directly to Wizard at the end on 1st July 2020. Years ago, I passed my thanks to him as his emulator had taken me off the machines where I had been known to put entire wages into a machine and have nothing for a month and I don't regret a penny of that. I do believe that I am not a lot different from other people here and if you want a chance to buy some Wine for Wizard, this is your moment. If you are a non-supporter of the site and you donate, you still get your 2020 donator badge and the special badge below as well as your access - but all money will be kept in a pot and transferred to Wizard. If you do support and already have a donator badge, then you will get a special badge like this as you have access. If you do choose to buy Wine for Wizard but you DO NOT want this badge that shows your support and maybe encourages some new members to also buy wine, then PM me as soon as you've donated and I'll make sure I do not apply it as per your wishes. Now begins the celebration of MFME and a two month window to support Wizard for twenty years he has put into MFME and why this site exists today and I hope he can buy himself a machine he likes or something like that from what we do as a scene. Thank you all for reading and thank you Wizard.

  20. 100% right on the restritions is the problem - this is the chart. Also be aware that when the Wine for Wizard drive is over, these downloads will be dropping for non-supporters of the site. They were only lifted due to helping people get a little more when COVID-19 lockdown started. If you support - you have these restrictions removed. @mozwell, you have download 12 times already so you've only got six left for a good couple of weeks or so - nearly three - but you must wait for the new ones to roll on and be added.

  21. Unless you donate a fiver then you have download restrictions on your account. I think it's 6 a day which is rolling and up to 18 a week or something, not sure of the exact figure but there are a few threads about it if you search. Enjoy your stay..

  22. Another fun video. It's always difficult to criticise a machine, when you get such a great looking DX. But this and On The Buses were some of Maygay's worse machines ever, so I can't see why the release thread had people, saying this machine was excellent or in fact any good at all, it's absolute crap. The dicking the player around the board and not even offering anything to collect sometimes, the predictability of where it was going to land you on the board, a win series, consisting of 1 win, is not a series and the top feature offering less than a jackpot 99/100, just all round horrible. And before anyone says, but if you use the method (if there was one), that doesn't make it a great machine.

  24. Great video and a great DX by the mighty Pookster but what a bloody shite machine and I'm glad I never played it for real ! Reminds me of messing around with that Jon Francombe's layout and getting different results from the same GAMRAM each time. Again, I love the way you use Google street view to show the old locations of machines, it really helps pin a place and time. Good to see a new FME video from you, cheers.

  26. In the near 20 years I have been in the scene, I have never donated to any forum. Have always used my funds for resources. This is an exception!

  27. And this is exactly why I felt it was right to donate to this site for all the hard work given over the years.... Just as Reg says, we wouldn't all be here without him. Well done Wizard, you deserve it, have a drink on me, we all appreciate all the hard work that has gone into this.
