	<span style="font-size:20px;"><strong>Hi all, we had one of these machines back in the day at the Palace over 18's in Rhyl.   (Brand spanking new) and un-bashed in by the hands of hammering grannies.....It was a big deal as the owners were giving out cheat and hint cards to encourage players to part with their cash and have a go.  Used to give out loads in a good mood, but then they changed something in the programme and from then on it went<img src="https://twemoji.maxcdn.com/2/72x72/1f4a9.png" class="ipsEmoji" alt="💩"> which in my opinion is typical of HB Leisure allegedly to do something like this....spoil sports<img src="https://twemoji.maxcdn.com/2/72x72/1f974.png" class="ipsEmoji" alt="🥴"></strong></span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:20px;"><strong>There are hints displayed on the top glass of the machine in the images below, in which it states 000 gives 3 nudges 0X0 hold X for XXX etc...   I am asking if firstly we have a ROM of this for v20.1 and the XXX pay £5 instead of £2 as seen below and The 3 Astra's give £10 instead of a fiver.  The only other cheat I learned from someone is that if 3 XXX's hold you let them go and there is a 60/40 chance that the Astra's will come in.  If the Astra's then come in and they hold, you let them go for Jackpot, but I have done this before and lost and it span a losing spin in when NOT holding the Astra's, LETTING THEM GO!.   Nearly always worked on the X's and Astra's span in. </strong></span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:20px;"><strong>Does anyone else know any fangled brilliance of knowledgable advantages or undisclosed hints to manipulate this machine please and I was wondering if so could they please share them here.  Does a weird nudge flash symbol on the top glass sometimes and other flash hints on the reels, in which frankly for me have never worked and I ended up with fcuk all when it happened, probably because I never worked out how to do what the machine was asking me to do in that hint. <img src="https://twemoji.maxcdn.com/2/72x72/1f914.png" class="ipsEmoji" alt="🤔"></strong></span>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:20px;"><strong>I am also requesting that; Please can this layout be done again in version 20.1 if the £10 and £5 ROMS have surfaced after Dad's earlier layout below.  The jackpot evidently at £25.00 for both layouts.  It looks a bit grainy in v 6.0 and you have to zoom in because it's not the biggest of layouts,in which (when zooming) the quality...well it just gets worse.   I love this machine so requesting this for myself please if anyone would like to help or do this layout.  I will be the first in the que to beta test and download.</strong></span>

	<span style="font-size:18px;">Hi, I'm sure people have come across Alex's videos rebranded 'Harry Head wound' on YouTube.  In one video; cannot remember or be sure of which, to be exact; he talks about there being ways to manipulate Bullion Bars, in which there are different pots that can be manipulated and are achievable within the game.  Think its 'possibly' the one where he says he is now done with compensated games. </span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:18px;">Personally, I know about the nudge setups and timeout etc, but I was wondering if anyone could shed any further light on how this is done or what tricks there are to maybe ignore certain wins and access different pots on the machine.  Not being of course that the machine has independent achievable pot values in the first place or cash pot, but you know what I mean.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:18px;">Just think this would be interesting to get some insight on how people get better advantage on playing 'happy ROM' Bullion Bars and how they actually do this.  I mean like for example 'Super Pots' M1a by Maygay has a certain method of getting a £4 win, by which is classed by the machine as a free win and does not actually register in the machine's percentage or RAM as a win!  (I'm only using this as an example). -  So people understand what it is I am actually getting at. </span>

	Not long into the £15 era, Eletcrocoin released updated Bar-X games called Bar-x 5 and later Bar-x 10
</p>

<p>
	Exact same game and pretty similar game but Bars £15 and  X's £5 - released AFAIK in that dome like cabinet.
</p>

<p>
	These seemed to have a really weird profile where they would "streak" by giving a win every £4 or so, so very long and drawn out.
</p>

<p>
	Not sure what made remember these, have they been emulated at all?

	Hi, I'm somewhat 7 Months late reading into this thread, but I have just been (today) playing that very same layout game above.  Bar - X £10 jackpot.  I wanted to ask the same question in MFME (General discussion anyway) so the thread that this relates to is a duplicate and I am adding the web address in case anyone wants to jump the page and have a read of what has been said on this up until June last year.
</p>

<p>
	<a href="https://www.desertislandfruits.com/forum/index.php?/topic/19275-bar-x-5-and-bar-x-10/" rel="">https://www.desertislandfruits.com/forum/index.php?/topic/19275-bar-x-5-and-bar-x-10/</a>
</p>

<p>
	I think it's a bit sad that this has not been pushed further or investigated.  It seems a shame that the brakes have just been slammed on, like the front end has hit a dead end.
</p>

<p>
	Does this then mean that up until the £10 jackpot absolutely no security chips were needed, hence being able to produce this emulation?
</p>

<p>
	I often wondered if that is the case, then why there is NOT an Electrocoin's Big Bar 7 on £10 Jackpot? (Cherry's on £5, Melons £1 and Bars £2.00) like back in the 90's when they were token free and a cash jackpot in Adult Gaming Centres.  I for one <em><strong>hate</strong></em> the Concept and Chuzzy kIt versions (Except when someone has lost loads on them), because 8/10 times in the arcade they are just dead spin after dead spin.   I know about  the Super Multi Nudge Layout and the empty for it, but that is not quite the same thing now is it?  Bit like, it's good, but it's not quite Carling.
</p>

<p>
	Would be <u><strong>more than</strong></u> amazing if it came to FME that we had the Big Bar 7 on £25 JP the one where it gives the extra three nudges now and again.  Also Bar -X 10(£10 - £25.00) without the dreadful concept or Chuzzy kit on it.  These machines were prominently seen in the wild most I think in Rio Cabinets, but you did come across the ones that did not give the extra three nudges in the same cabinet as Vectra's layout in the link above.
</p>

<p>
	Would this also mean then, that if the security chip finally got hacked, we would perhaps also see OXO Crazy Reels 4 player arena emulated?
</p>

<p>
	I am just speculating here, but John Parker was good at the arcade simulator and bringing that to the FME scene which was awesome.  Somebody somewhere out there knows how to get past the GAL security board and chip block, and knows how to do something to hack the security chip or potentially knows someone who could maybe help and do this????
</p>

<p>
	Would be somewhat amazing not?<img src="https://twemoji.maxcdn.com/2/72x72/1f60d.png" class="ipsEmoji" alt="😍"> if this was to happen.
</p>

<p>
	Then one day alas, the £25.00   (Bar - X)   Big Bar 7 and possible OXO crazy reels could come to MFME.  WOW!!!<img src="https://twemoji.maxcdn.com/2/72x72/1f929.png" class="ipsEmoji" alt="🤩">
</p>

<p>
	Excellent...Jackpot, Jackpot, Jackpot.....'You just love me for my ££££'.
</p>

<p>
	Nice to have a GOOD PIPE DREAM now and again.....!  If only for a short while. <img src="https://twemoji.maxcdn.com/2/72x72/1f643.png" class="ipsEmoji" alt="🙃">  If only!!!!

	I'm sorting our attic out, and found something that may be of interest.
</p>

<p>
	Years ago, there was an old (and I mean OLD) fruit machine at the local tip being thrown away, they wouldn't let me take it, offer or not, but I did manage to obtain a piece of paper from it, a big A1 or A0 sheet, which is the schematic... and I just found it again. And it's STILL legible.
</p>

<p>
	So I got in touch with <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.desertislandfruits.com/forum/index.php?/profile/58-chopaholic/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="58" href="https://www.desertislandfruits.com/forum/index.php?/profile/58-chopaholic/" rel="">@Chopaholic</a> first as I remembered watching his video about electro-mechanicals being added to MFME and sent him a quick video looking around it, and his advice was to get it on here and anyone who may be able to make use of it can let me know, and I'll send them closeup pics, and/or the schematic itself in the post.
</p>

<p>
	It's one more machine, it'd be interesting to see how it plays.
</p>

	I've done a search through the forum but was unable to find a clear answer to my question.
</p>

<p>
	Has there ever been a good example of a complete reverse engineer of a fruit machine rom? And if so, what are the challenges to taking that on as an activity...... obscure assembly code based on even more obscure compute technology? Clearly the fact so many hardware platforms have been emulated demonstrates it can be done....but I've never seen a clear tear down of any particular rom to source code level.
</p>

<p>
	I sometimes read discussion threads where certain fruit machines seem to exhibit psuedo random behaviour i.e. sometimes it does it / sometimes it doesn't. I was just curious if anyone has ever dug deeper to identify the function or line of code which highlights why that is the case.
</p>

<p>
	Be curious if anyone can shed any light.
</p>

<p>
	Cheers

	Not sure if this is the right forum area for this so apologies, but apparently the infamous 'chris217' youtuber/machine collector <s>has</s> (on rewatching the video, his friend has) a very early ROM revision of Smash &amp; Grab.  I wonder if we could tempt him, perhaps by clubbing in and sending over a ROM ripper/burner device, to rip those ROMs?<br />
	<br />
	Or, do we already have those ROMs?  It seems to be doing something I've not seen the MFME build doing before.<br />
	<br />
	Here's the video:

<div class="ipsEmbeddedVideo">

	</div>
</div>

<p>
	<br />
	...and here's the pertinent comment, which makes me think these could be great ROMs to get:<br />
	<br />
	<em>@grahamnutt8958<br />
	<br />
	What you have played there is the uber rare 1st version of  Smash &amp; Grab. It got banned very quickly and very few of those (and ROM's) survived.</em>
</p>

<p>
	<em>Gen 2 onwards only let you exchange the £3 win once.</em>
</p>

<p>
	<em>I saw this just once and the lucky player rinsed it £10.50 banked in short order.</em>
</p>

<p>
	<em>Your pal and #sulzerned will be able to confirm what I'm saying about 1st gen.<br />
	What a rare find!!!</em>

	Hi, got a really baffling thing happening with this machine, that I haven't noticed with any other machine at all.
</p>

<p>
	When I start playing, the number reel is <em><strong>always</strong></em> mis-aligned, e.g. it spins me a 6 but then only moves 2 on the feature.  Obviously a single spin on the feature is enough for me to then go into Edit Mode and correct the offset - but even if I save the layout, next time I start, it's out again.  It's not always the same amount off either.
</p>

<p>
	Does anyone else see this, or know why it happens and how to fix it?
</p>

	The game is a 5 reel x 3 line video slot.  I have some reel strips.  Each strip (array) has 60 elements.  There are a total of 9 possible symbols - one of which is a wild and one of which is a pot.  Three pots or more anywhere on screen give the pot bonus, four gives super pot bonus and five gives jackpot.  The game has 10 win lines.
</p>

<p>
	My approach for finding all of the possible wins and thus calculating the RTP would be something like looping through reel 1 array, nested loop through reel 2, nested loop through reel 3, nested loop through reel 4, nested loop through reel 5, check the values for each win line against each symbol set and so forth.  This will literally be billions of calculations.  (I forgot to mention there are 16 reel sets in total.)
</p>

<p>
	Question I have is can anyone think of a faster way of doing this?
</p>

<p>
	I will code around certain rules to avoid over calculating.  Example - stop processing when no three symbols match on a winline.  I'm also looking at other rules such as when symbol K is on reel 1, position 2 and also present on reel 2 then I know the other symbols on reel1 can never line up for a win.  But even that is starting to make the code overly complicated.
</p>

<p>
	If anyone has any ideas on how they would approach it I would love to hear.
</p>

<p>
	Cheers
</p>

	Are there any new versions of mfme? As far as I remember, version 20 has a completely closed code, which is very bad, because our loved one unfortunately passed away, the emulator does not receive updates.<br />
	But there are old versions with open code, it seems, you can make a new emulator, which will be based on the old version with all the developments from version 20.<br />
	MAME is not recommended, it is mainly for arcade machines.
</p>

<p>
	Hello everyone! I’m looking for some thoughts and opinions on a classic TV game show we all know and love: Deal or No Deal. Whether you're a fan of the original version with its iconic style or prefer the updated take with fresh twists, there’s no denying that this game show has left its mark on us including our beloved Fruit Machine era.
</p>

<p>
	Personally, I’m tasked with exploring this as part of an engagement project in the next few months at one of our work locations which will cover around 200 people give or take and I’d love to hear your opinions. Did good old Noel from the old version’s simplicity and suspenseful pacing make it the better show? Or do the changes in the newer version—like updated aesthetics, modernized gameplay, or different host dynamics—bring a fresh appeal? (How could they not include the £250,000 jackpot!)
</p>

<p>
	If you have ideas on what could make Deal or No Deal even more engaging, let me know! Whether it’s changes to the format, interactive features, or even how contestants are selected, I’m open to any suggestions. Let’s spark a lively debate and see which version reigns supreme in your eyes!

	Morning!
</p>

<p>
	does anyone remember a 100jp clubber called A Good Days work (or something similar) where you used to get x3, x5 and x10 on the feature and the guy would say “that’s a good days work, you’re on ten times your money!”?
</p>

<p>
	was reminiscing this weekend and it’s one we used to play at a local club! Can’t find it but I’ve probably got the name wrong!
</p>

<p>
	cheers

	Hi,
</p>

<p>
	Just wondered if anyone was working on MPU3 for MAME ?
</p>

<p>
	I've a fix which solves the lockup on power up with TURN-ON-DELAY on the alpha and didn't want to start messing if someone else was already doing stuff with it.
</p>

<p>
	I can't do a PR for a while anyway as I'm waiting for another PR to be merged.
