About This File

Hiya, welcome to my newest release, Holy Smoke.

Firstly, thanks as always to the late and great Wizard for his amazing and fantastic emulator.

To @wearecity for letting me release it and his brilliant classic layout and the effort made for this machine.

I hadn't realised the reels weren't the same as the arcade machine until @wearecity kindly pointed it out and suggested I improve it if I could. I'm not the best at graphics drawing but I hope you like what I've done with it.

If there are any things that should be lit that aren't, please let me know and I'll try and update it.

Hope you're all well and safe!

Love and hugs to you all!!!

Released

With many thanks to @JRSC01 for his help and assistance for pointing some things that weren't right with the layout, I have carried out the following changes.

1) Made the top letters individual including making the image to the left lit and made the ! separate.

2) Added CASH FULL and CL text under the coin insert

3) Made the LOSE text larger underneath the Nudges

4) Split Hold 2 and Hold 3 buttons so that the Hi and Lo are separate and have different lights for top and bottom

5) Swapped the lamp numbers for the 2 left Angels

6) Swapped the top and bottom lamp numbers for the 3 gold rings that start the feature part.

Don't remember this one. Thanks very much

I hadn't played it either but liked it that much, I had to do a DX for it :D

I'd given up playing machines in the wild by the time this one was released, but an interesting thing I've noticed is that this machine uses at least one royalty free sound sample from the Dance Ejay range of dance music production software. (as I used the same sample in one of my tracks from about 20 years ago... 🙂 )  Noticed this on one other emulated machine but can't remember which one now, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was from the same manufacturer...

Oh yes I remember using that many years ago. I created my own tune with my brother in law and it was, er, different to say the least lol.

I got one free with one of the magazines and then got one as part of a triple package with Need For Speed Porche Challenge and something else but when I tried them, they wouldn't work properly on Windows 10. Oh well....

yeah, Ejay was designed round the Win98 time but still worked on XP.  Win7 was iffy and yeah, Win10 - forget it.  If you don't have access to a WinXP machine then they sometimes work on a Virtualbox XP machine running on Win10 but can be very slow and stuttery.

I think I tried using the original CD with an XP virtual disk but nope.... I don't think it ran.... or it did but couldn't load any samples or anything.

Those were the days!!! (Having to restart Windows 95 every time a driver was installed)....
