We have moved!

Recommended Posts

After much deliberation we decided to upgrade the caravan and sadly say goodbye to Vera,

the wonderful views and posh site.

We found a great van, perfect for us and straight across the valley from where we were. (Can even see Vera from the bedroom window lol)

The new one is called Abi and after 2 weeks and loads of stress, myther and cleaning. We are starting to reap the benefits. New carpet down yesterday and as you can see, Benji has really settled in.

Still loads to do, especially in the garden. But as you can see from pic 3, we are making progress and the natives are friendly 😁

Where is the noise, the traffic, the planes, the screaming kids, the tourists and the sound of trains... ?

Looks lovely and peaceful - I need some quiet time in my life lol.  I have a plan for something I want to build in my garden to give me this.

All the above are absent, save for the distant noise from the A55. Which you can occasionally hear late at night when the telly is off and the wind is in the right (wrong) direction 😉😁😂

Well after starting with this...

20180812_162618.thumb.jpg.fd30e05dba8f3c379516888ee8dea0dd.jpg20180812_162612.thumb.jpg.f355c17b8a2d310ce54fcf78ebd283ef.jpg20180812_162601.thumb.jpg.8c9c36975e2da35d59f2f35344e9de81.jpg20180812_162658.thumb.jpg.7f538bbc8f40df770ecfcfbd9adc2ad8.jpg

After a long hard slog in January and plenty  of spending, we left things like this...

After more work and spending, we are nearly there and now have this...

20190314_161157.thumb.jpg.ccd88fd25687043a784b6a430ddcb458.jpg20190314_161204.thumb.jpg.ab7363a5753c973bb5e2607344bb0198.jpg20190314_161204.thumb.jpg.5e33248c6e5659bc1b5aa5a856427a0c.jpg20190314_161214.thumb.jpg.ac0514d6ae447501fcbce0a83e5779bd.jpg20190314_161243.thumb.jpg.15fb73e02847cb2a570be8f92a3ef2fa.jpg20190314_161236.thumb.jpg.2cc0ca25c6ec437bbea74ca407f39afe.jpg

A few finishing off bits left and some concreting when we get some dryer weather, then we can chill.

Oh and I made new curtains and cushion covers for the living/dining areas

20190314_161326.thumb.jpg.69e254543aa3c667914f41112bae53b7.jpg20190314_161330.thumb.jpg.0f63b5414e6b16869965cfcda3f2e0c4.jpg20190314_161344.thumb.jpg.a3a1c13ad1dd7ffb9f98fb29c20adeaa.jpg

Even reupholstered the dining chairs and made a table runner with the spare fabric lol

We might even have some visitors this year 🤔

Not full time. I actually live in Stoke, but I'm in Wales as often as I can be. Only 99.9999% of the time lol 😂

Very nice there mate, looking good. Not surprised you spend most of your time there😉

Thanks mate.

Can't believe how lucky we are.

All I need now is for the sheep in the field behind us, to drop their lambs.

Open the bedroom curtains every morning with great anticipation, but so far nothing 😠😞

Will keep you posted.

Don't think you will see any lambs for at least another 2 May be 3 week's mate.

Just about every other field is full of the bastards!

They  were obviously the last in line for the ram that ended up in the field behind us 😠

Bloody typical 😞

Are you sure they are Ewes and not Rams? If you are unsure or confused I can point out the differences mate.😜

Haha, on a more serious note, everything you have done in the pics looks fantastic. You should be very proud. Nice one.

My folks used to own a static caravan on a site near Thirsk and Me & the Mrs would go and stay with them on some weekends during the summer. It was always nice there just to sit outside and have a can or two also the caravan park had a lake, so I could even get my rod out. 😐

There was a clubhouse we could pop into in the evenings and on Sunday mornings there would be a decent car boot sale going on at Thirsk Racecourse or somewhere nearby.

They gave the van up after many years because it became too much for them but what a good place to go for switching off and to relax. I definitely can see the attraction in caravanning no wonder you spend a lot of time at your place mate.

I seem to remember something in the Yorkshire Post about that 😉

Been there a few times over the years... I'm originally from Yorkshire you know.

Nope! Bugger all happening apart from the 🐔🐓🐔🐔's wanting feeding every day 😞
