  1. I remember playing this on the C64 back in the day. Must say not one of my favourites, but instantly remembered it when I saw the name. Would have made a good name for a fruity as well I reckon.
  2. You don't mean the JPM one do you. I can't see a machine name Bank Roll, in the Maygay gallery.
  3. All the FME forums, have at one time been the main focus of the scene. Everyone has had their favourite. The now gone MPU/Fruit Forums, was the biggest for years. It's downfall was the leaked emulator. But not overnight, but over a few years. Then when the new era of FME started in 2016, the MPU Mecca, came to the front, when development of MFME was there. Fruit-Emu, which had been around, had a noobs reputation, because of the amount of requests for Crazy Fruits and Deal Or No Deals, well before they were emulated. But for years, a close second to Fruit Forums and it came to the front, when Wizard started posting there and the vast majority of releases were released only there. Then when Wizard chose here for MFME development, this site became the most focus. Should this site close, then in a flash I'd suspect it would largely be fruit-emu, where releases were made. The Mecca crowd, are more into real machines than emulation. Dads has nearly always been there, but largely in the background. I'd imagine only if the other 3 sites were to close, it would be the forums of choice. Mainly because I still don't think some people know it exists and has several exclusive releases.
  4. Will take a look at these, when I can get my lazy can't be bothered to do anything arse into gear.
  5. Sorry to hear that, your health, is much more important. Hope everything goes well in January.
  6. Top Stop, would have been a machine, I would play and play. Although I was never happy to lose, I always thought this gave you a good run for your money and was entertaining for the time. So many machines, were fun to play though, I'm sure many of us, just played them because of that.
  7. I like the idea of MFME challenges. This was one of my favourite machines, back in the day, but definitely better roms than the one with the release are available, as pointed out by someone called Chopoholic many many many years ago.
  8. Well you're not wrong as such v19 onwards won't work. There's still over 1000 layouts that can be played on v6.1, so not a small amount.
  9. Get version v6.1 from this page. The last version that works with Windows 8.1. https://www.desertislandfruits.com/forum/index.php?/files/category/71-legacy-releases/ Most layouts released before July 2019 will work with V6.1, unless they were updated after that date. So check out the DXcellent section of the forum, for lots of layouts. All layouts in the re-release section of DXcellent should work fine with v6.1. The downloads are in the threads. https://www.desertislandfruits.com/forum/index.php?/dx/dxcellent/ Other than that, if you go to the release forums both on Dxcellent and on the main site and look for release threads started before July 2019, you should find links to layouts that will work.
  10. Yes search has to be more than 3 letters. There are advantages to both ways of searching and downloading from here and fruit-emu. Fruit-emu contains a lot of fme and fruit machine history, I hope even if it is going to close, the whole lot is at least preserved. It also contains older versions of MFME, plus bfemulator, jpemu and Project Amber emulators and layouts. Although I guess some members will have layouts and emulators archived, so mainly the forum stuff. As for supporting it, well there's still a lot for your money.
  11. Are you a donator and have more than a couple of posts. They are the likely reasons, for that message. I'm a gold supporter, renews annually automatically. Just had my £20 leave paypal the other day and never ever have that message.
  12. That place is dead when it comes to new layout content and has been pretty much for years. Even new forum posts are extremely rare. But for a donation you can still access the downloads without restrictions. 99.9% of the content is available here, though the legacy section. Here if looking for a layout I'd suggest looking at the gallery for machines by sorting it into caption to get it alphabetical and then visit the legacy section where you get all the layouts for a particular machine. At fruit-emu you search via technologies, but the downloads are individual layouts. Because a lot of layouts at fruit-emu are from older emulators, a lot will need converting in V5.1 to work in v20.1
  13. You should be able to now. You have your donate badge now. Nice to see newbies donating, so much here for your money.
  14. You have enough rep points, you needed 4. As you are not a site supporter (donator), you probably, have hit the maximum download limit of 15 downloads for the month, as shown in the post above yours.
  15. Never was much into club machines, although I've played quite a few through the 80s and 90s in snooker halls and working men's clubs. Normally club versions of AWPs I'd played, such as Super Blackjack by Barcrest, Cops n Robbers by Bell fruit and the last era I played were Give Us a Break, Casino Crazy by JPM. I do remember once playing an Empire Games, Wild Thing as well in the early 2000s. For me, it's aways been about AWPs, my playing days from 10p £4 jackpots until £35 jackpots. My favourite era £4-£8, at 10p or 20p play depending on the jackpot. Played them for fun as much as addiction. But for the best gameplay, always machines of that era, should be played on their native stake/prize. None of this 5p play malarkey, blrugghh.
  16. On the portal page on the right hand side.
  17. A couple of important bits also, any layout that has been produced in a later version, than v6.1, will not work with v6.1, even if it's a fml file. Also if a layout that has been produced in v6.1 or earlier, is loaded into a later version, it will no longer work, in v6.1. While there are over 1000 layouts that work in v6.1, if you want to play FME at it's best and largely have a trouble free experience, you need to have Windows 10/11 and v20.1.
  18. V20.1 only runs on Windows 10 or 11. V6.1 is the last version for Windows 7 Both V6.1 and V20 require files in .fml format and older .dat file will not run.. Gam files are present with both fml and dat layouts. . dat files are easy to convert using V5.1, simply load the layout into 5.1 and when you close it, it will save as a fml file. But all downloads from the main section are in fml format and all files in the Legacy section have been converted to fml from dat files already.
  19. On the portal page, you will find the support site link, on the right hand side, You needed 4 rep before you could donate, which you now have. https://www.desertislandfruits.com/forum/index.php?/portal/
  20. 2 years, have certainly gone quick. MFME is always something I fall back into, particularly, when life gets a bit tough. MFME will always be our lives I'm sure, which means Wizard will always be in our lives too.
  21. That is an issue, with multi emulation. You do really need to cherry pick what you want and set it up yourself. Or you end up with dozens of Japanese language rpg games and 10 versions of the same game with foreign variants. Some of the systems in the video above, would have come with a front end, emulators and games already on them and set up. Myself I look on YouTube for a system, then look for an emulators for it and then look at videos of top 50 games, a certain genre or hidden gems for that system. Of course if it comes to something I've owned, I'll know some games I want. Then I move onto the next and build up my collection gradually. I'm into Wii, Dreamcast and Gamecube emulation at the moment. I've got a Hyperspin collection, I don't use it the way intended. But it came with some many roms, I can generally just transfer a game I want to my much smaller collection, without the need to source it and download it.
  22. TBH, it's a bit of a minefield when it comes to these sorts of things. You'll never get a perfect device. There's always something that isn't 100% emulated correctly or certain games, that will be totally unplayable. On the surface it's simply plug and play, but in reality, it's never that simple. But having said that, if you are happy that 90% of stuff, will generally work and be completely playable, then there are some great cheap devices out there. This video is excellent for explaining things.
  23. I don't believe that thread contained Hysteria sound roms at all, just the program roms. They are the g files in the Hysteria folder in the Impulse Zip file. Sound roms are normally labelled something like S0, S1 files, or snd.bin for Epoch. I think Mr X thought the sound roms were in the zip. If they were in the zip and/or do become available, following my instructions in the first post of this thread would add them successfully to the layout.
  24. It's very easy to do. Open the layout, click on design, edit mode or CTRL E to go into design mode. Then click on design again and Rom loader. On that screen hit stop, then where it says Sound Roms, click on load and browse to where you have the sound roms to add them. Then you can hit start on the rom load screen and come back out of design mode.
  25. We did think possibly it is, I guess it still works correctly. Hopefully one day, we will get to see the machine.
