  1. Only had a really quick look at it. Couldn't find the DX editor that you mentioned but found another option in the Design menu 2nd from bottom that gave me 4 screens including a mono screen on the right. Looked like I could play around with those. But I had to leave it as were on our way to the airport to go on my holiday. Just sat waiting for the wife at the moment so posting back. Will try again when I'm back on the 24th. Thanks for all yours and Tommy's help so far.
  2. That's great Vectra. Thanks for your help with that. I can see how a bit of tweaking can get that sorted. Really appreciate you passing that on (also really appreciate all your hard work on here - most of my fave machines are your hard work so a big Thank You from me!) Cheers
  3. I'm currently refreshing some of the machines on my cabinet and doing some general jiggery-pokery with a frontend etc. I've noticed a few machines are darker than I would like. However, if I go into Design mode and just raise the brightness of the background then I noticed that a lot of the other assets aren't transparent - they are just set into a background that matches the dark background I'm trying to fix. Is there a quicker way to raise the brightness of the background? Or is the only way to download all the bmps of all the assets and then change their background colour to the new shade in photoshop and then reload back to the machine? Would love some expert advice on the best way to proceed here? These screenshots illustrate what I'm talking about.... Note: I've increased the brightness more than I would actually like to exaggerate the transparency problem to make it easier to see the issue.
  4. Looking superb Road Hog. Interested to see how it's all going to fit together. Really like the slim look of it. Great work mate!!
  5. Haha! Yep, didn't notice that but I bet you're right
  6. Awesome!! Great work mate PS.. great to see a cheeky game of Caveman Capers going on there too
  7. I wouldn't hold your breath mate I'm just coming to the end of building an extension on the house and we're skint. Plus I'm not sure that the wife would go for another cab build. I've done 3 now and she hates the mess that it causes. I've threatened to build a VPX pinball table next but I'll probably end up with a small wall-mounted jukebox as the next project. Will be next year now though as she wants a partition wall building in the living room to keep the heat in for when our 'fixed deal' runs out for energy in October. Trying to tighten our belts.
  8. The ultimate cab!! Well done old pal. You've done sterling work. I can only imagine the contorted shapes you must have pulled wiring that thing up. Amazing work! Cab building has just evolved to the next level. Really impressed
  9. Thought it would be worth re-posting the videos I made many moons ago on my own cabinet build. It just means we keep everything together and hopefully it will help someone take the leap to making their own cabinet. Here's one I made showing the build with some explanations on what the components are... And here's one talking about the software and demo-ing the machine.... Apologies for the quality of these efforts... I'm not in any danger of winning an Oscar... you have been warned
  10. I've got a 10p hopper but (so far) not had any issues (fingers crossed / touch wood etc)
  11. I wonder if AutoHotKey could do something like that??? Enjoy your holiday and look forward to further progress when you get back to it. Cheers
  12. Your cab looks amazing No1 !! Really impressed with it! Plus, I love the idea of sharing RAM files with your mate for that real-life experience On the subject of your 'smaller' screen - have you considered running it on a Raspberry Pi or something along those lines to keep it separate from the main PC if all it's doing is a music controller? Or a cheap small form factor PC? Alternatively (and I've no idea if this would work) I know there are programs that let you have more control over multiple monitors - if memory serves there was one called multimon? I'm not sure if this would help with the 'losing focus' issue or not - I've never gone that in-depth with them but just ideas I had as I read your thread. Keep up the brilliant build mate
  13. Apologies Reg... for some reason the emails from the site don't come through anymore... I've checked my Spam folder and nada... not sure what the problem is but, anyhoo, I was on DIF just having a look around and noticed a few mentions. You're right about Chris not being too happy with bringing MFME into the "physical" realm. I was just standing on the massive shoulders of @No1Stoney and between us we muddled a system of making the machine pay out correctly. It wasn't perfect but it worked!! He did come round to the idea. I exchanged several PMs with him at the time asking his permission to "go public" with how to read the hopper values etc as I didn't want to do anything to rock the boat and if he had said "No" then I would have kept schtum... however, he was happy to let the community know about it and, the rest, is history. Always love seeing people making cabinets or working versions of the fruities. And, it's lovely that you mention me in the same sentence as @No1Stoney as he was the brains that started it all. This whole site is a remarkable mix of very talented, dedicated people and, at the core of that was Wizard's software. The whole scene is bigger than the sum of it's parts. Truly superb!
  14. Great story Reg. Lovely to see all these post about Wizard.
  15. No worries. If you do go down the AutoHotKey route just let me know and I'll post my remap script to give you a start on tweaking it to your own liking.
  16. You could always use a frontend like Launchbox and then use AutoHotKey to remap those keys when you launch MFME? I do a similar thing when I launch my Hidden Object game. That uses left mouse click and I wanted that mapped to my Ctrl key (Player 1 Button 1 in MAME). PS... if you didn't want a front end you could just run AutoHotKey manually before you start MFME and then turn the AHK script off when you come out of it? PPS.... There is probably a way to make AHK auto exit when the MFME process is closed but I don't know how to do it off the top of my head.
  17. The limit is on how many inputs you have on your IPac board. If you were to get the Ultimate I/O board I think there's 64!! So plenty!! (there's cheaper ones with less inputs too).
  18. Wow!!! Great total!!! Well done all involved
  19. It's been a great event this Reg. You've done brilliantly in organising it. Can't wait to find out what the final total is.... it's like watching Red Nose Night!!! Are we getting Lenny Henry on to announce it?? Pat yourself on the back Reg for a job well done and, I'm sure that Chris will be very touched with your hard work. At the end of the day, the cash is a lovely surprise but I think it's the thought and sentiment that's come out of this that really counts. Hopefully Chris will see all these messages and realise that between his software and the rest of the hard working members of the scene who convert the machines and flyers etc, what a massive difference they have made to so many peoples lives. I think that this software is unique in that, for some, it has been a lifeline out of addiction and so it has literally saved peoples lives! Quite something....
  20. It was a joint effort Reg. I think we've all learned from each other along this journey. Great that others are making cabinets and buttons modules though.
  21. That looks superb!! Great work mate
  22. Yep I second that... most of Brewdogs offerings are decent. I'm also a fan of Innis and Gunns lager beer and Hobgoblin Gold. Both nice tipples....
