Here's my layout of king kerching this never got an outing on here as it was from 2017, I've been editing bits on it and trying to get lamps in order that were missing from the first release. Thanks to the flyer provider, and to the rom provider not sure who supplied the roms now, and to the late wizard for the new mfme. If anyone can supply an arcade set for this that would be great as this is a pretty flat profile. MFME V20+ ONLY.

@hitthesix hacked a rom to make it £4.80/20p so rearranged the original art i had to accommodate the "newer" winplan single joker on the winline acts as a wild, two jokers on the winline doubles the win to a max £4.80 ALL CASH whether the winplan is correct or not it plays ok, the token input doesn't work for some reason so op'ped for 20p cash input the jackpot tune also doesn't play apart from that all fine Enjoy and Happy Gaming!!!!

Time to jet off to Florida to enjoy the sunset in Orlando, its Magic!!! with two layouts to choose from. A 20p version and a 5p version (different paytable) both use different rom sets (do we have the roms for the original £6 token machine? Thanks goto @andy-1 - for the classic layout and reel bands etc @infection - images @wizard for mfme's past and present and also fixed a bug to allow this game to run many moons back Not sure how the top numbers 1 - 12 lamp as whilst designing the layout there is two sets of lamps for those numbers and on the original classic layout andy-1 only used one so the feature which used those the numbers went out, so to use both sets i've made the 2nd set masked yellow, can anyone confirm if the machine actually used both lots of lamps or were they a different colour etc Shortcuts written within the notes Enjoy and Happy Gaming!!!!!

Here's a layout for Concept Games Jackpot 7s, although a few people I know pronounce it 'seven-evens' - so I've gone with both names in the title. This has been made with photos of my own machine, and a ROM dump I also took of my own machine - so it's definitely running known good software that plays exactly as I like. What is Jackpot 7s? Well to be honest it's basically another Concept 3 win game, but with unique artwork! Does it play differently to the normal 3 win games I've released with Concept ROMs? Hard to say really. But it's got a good streak in it if caught right! HAPPY RAM file is included in the folder called 'HAPPY_RAM'. Just copy the RAM and GAM from that folder over the ones in the folder with the .FML and .BIN files in. When I say happy, I mean it's had £3600 in, which means the 2nd streak is due any second since these ROMs have a known session length of 3600 credits As with other Casino ROMs, these will give 'ERR-01' on first boot. Either reset the layout (Ctrl+R) or reopen the layout to clear it. I labelled the ROM dump file with the text that was written on the original Concept provided chip, and so my best guess is : 'JACKPOT7_v20_M_POP50_P100_SS_S_BR' = JACKPOT7, version 2.0, Plan M (standard 10/30/100 paytable) POP50 (50p play), P100 (no idea?) SS (soft session?) S (standard rather than protocol?) BR (Blue Rinse a.k.a. Bingo) Thanks : Thanks to @Wizard for the emulator, thanks to everyone who plays and enjoys my layouts, and thanks to those who don't play and can't stand them! Thanks to @Ginge for previous help, suggestions, and playtesting of previous Concept releases. Note I forgot to include the top-fluorescent lit gradient that @Gingeprovided in the ZIP files, so it's available as a little 42kb BMP file as part of this download if you prefer a more 'authentic' reel gradient! Thanks to @Reg and everyone else here. Making layouts is something I actually do to unwind. A bit like I spent most of my youth in arcades trying to escape reality, now tinkering with these in MFME and Photoshop keeps me sane

Here`s a machine I remember playing as a kid in an arcade called the Bright Spot in the seaside town of Rhyl, they had this one and an always eight side by side, when I was feeling flush I would play both at the time so sometimes I actually link the two together and play them side by side in mfme. There`s two versions 2p and 5p never saw the £4 token version in the wild would love to get my hands on the roms if anyone has a set. This layout is the first time I have done animated buttons, imo they do add a little bit more authenticity ,enough waffle hope you all enjoy. Thanks to @johnparker007 for finding the font for the cash/nudge trail and also explaining how the animated buttons work. Thanks to @Pook for advice and a quick video he posted on how to create the animated buttons. 12. Been feeling a bit better, so got some more progress on porting/converting the MFME Layout Extractor from the old ArcadeSim project to the new MfmeTools application (this is a 'standalone' Windows-only component of the Layout Editor, which is a cross-platform component of the Oasis suite). Work ported so far, allows for a little more progress in this test extraction, is now puts Mfme in Edit mode, and copies off lamps to the background: Next, is to get the Window Handle of the Properties window, and then from there, it's working on the new window capture system itself, as I need to get: - window position/size from the handles - getting window content as a bitmap - redo the old scraping of the component name (used a fuzzy OCR in old system, this needs converting to my Delphi font scraper, as everything else uses)

  13. So, as I used to play the earlier versions in the wild till they got chipped, sadly we only have Open the Box 02 with the lines trick in tact. Past few weeks I’ve been figuring out by looking at the Open the Box 02 and comparing it with the fixed 04 programme. I started with Line 1 - Unlimited Nudges and have managed to make this line free. So will be going through all the lines and doing the same, I hope to take this over to the other clones we don’t have free lines working roms…. So Pay Rise, Pound for Pound, Camelot, Grand Prix and maybe Hi-De-Hi. J

Here's 5 layouts for Poundstretcher - one of Concept's unique games. It's kinda like Bar X but with XXX being replaced by '£££' and paying random amounts based on the cash amounts around the top glass. I say 'random', but the game is compensated and the amounts are almost certainly pre-determined. I think earlier ROMs possibly did have more of a 'random' element. In fact the non-session ROMs included should have the 'run' (main streak) trigger 'at random'. Don't hold me to that though! As with other Casino ROMs, these will give 'ERR-01' on first boot. Either reset the layout (Ctrl+R) or reopen the layout to clear it. £5 jackpot at 10p/20p play. £35 jackpot at 30p play. £50 jackpot at 30p/50p/£1 play. £70 jackpot at 30p/50p/£1 play. £100 jackpot at 50p/£1 play. The ROMs and GAM files are named according to the ROM types as I catalogued them. To help deciper them : 'PS_CASINO_50P_70_NON_SESSION_FLAT_88' = PoundStretcher CASINO cabinet 50P play 70 pound jackpot NON SESSION (random streak trigger), FLAT game profile and 88% payout. 17. Also going to look i to the Sys1 Play it Again Deluxe as early £6 token versions were also emptiable via lines. We have version 03, which is the fixed version, so hoping to do this one too as it was a personal favourite as it was a lot more trickier as there were no features like Nudge Quick to make it quicker. Also only 3 max nudges to play with so you had to know roughly were the reels were landing and manipulate those. It was fairly easy once you got the hang of it as the machine would offer max nudges on almost every credit once it was behind percentage. The good thing about these ones is that it didn’t have the percentage watchdog so these don’t do those mini streaks to level out. J

Sadly he did leave the world far too early, but MFME would have always been a WIP for his lifetime as he was a perfectionist. MFME will live on and keep his memory alive, until every last machine that it can emulate, is emulated.

  23. I think they are called classic layouts because in the original emulators there was no ability to have graphics, other than reels. So when the ability came to implement graphics, the term 'DX' (I assume shorthand for Deluxe?) came about, and the older looking, non graphical layouts became 'Classic'. But simply, a classic layouts is any layout which doesn't have graphical lamps, normally doesn't have the actual machine artwork. But it has all the bits working - and that's part of the challenge. I've made classic layouts, I've made DX layouts from scratch, and I've made DX layouts using an existing classic. The hardest in terms of logic is a classic layout, or a 'from scratch' DX. You are starting with a complete blank canvas, and need to work out the machine inputs (switches, opto sensors, coin validation) and outputs (reel positions, lamps, and probably hoppers, tubes, and meters too). On some machines it's almost like 'layout by numbers', especially if the machine has a test mode - once you've found your way into it - that gives you reel symbol positions and lamp positions. On some it's genuinely a massive game of trial and error until you find the right numbers. DX layouts based on classics, while they have a graphical challenge, have the machine's inner workings mapped out. So basically you start with an already working layout, and you then work with graphics to put on top of it. I'd hope people who create classics would be recognised as equally but I'd expect that to most people who come across as a site like this, the classics look 'basic', so probably don't get appreciated as much.

  24. Had a little tinker with my shelved Speccy shmup prototype - looking at impact of adding AY music. General conclusion being that I'll barely have any cycles left over to do collision detection! So I suspect next will be looking if I can get more efficiency by running very basic 1 channel music, and then sound effects on the other two channels... The music here is a little basic remix I did of a couple of tracks by Chris Huelsbeck, from the game Apidya on the Amiga. The plan is to do: - an alternative method for drawing the player ship 'laser' - get some config of AY sound working that is performant enough to allow for full collision detection - write that performant collision detection So then I could have a single playable complete level+boss as a vertical slice proof-of-concept. Here's an older video showing sprites moving and some test collision detection code (no audio implemented in this one):

  25. Good eye, this is indeed using Denis's Engine he originally developed for Ringo, which he open-sourced here: https://github.com/DenisGrachev/Ringo-8 I've added the 'scroller', as the original engine is limited to a small level map, so this can do the much wider map required for a shmup. Also been experimenting with additional pseudo-sprites that will be drawn in spare cycles for the player's bullets/laser. Struggling a bit with spare cycles though, as I'm aiming to do a lot more than RIngo did, but still limited to the same damn Z80 CPU haha If I can figure out it, should be pretty crazy for a Speccy shmup, I may have to compromise on the audio though. It is showing an illusion of parallax scrolling, it's fairly limited parallax (same repeating tile on faraway 'layer'), but I have an idea to work around to some extent that with tilestrips. Haha yep, no color clash with this rendering technique. It involves both beam-racing and using a form of double-buffer. So there are two screens, that do obey the Speccy limitations of only two colors in every 8x8 attribute square. But then we toggle betweeen which one is being displayed in sync with the raster beam, every 8 pixels horizontally starting from x=4, and also every 4 pixels vertically starting from y=4, and so that gives us an effective resolution of 4x4 pseudo-pixels, that can display any of the 8 color values with no color clash. What you see: An example of one of the real buffer screens, that is rendering the above display:

Thanks goto @hitthesix for the previous classic layout @infection - images Now onto the layout itself, this layout has a few minor problems. Firstly like the Classic layout beforehand, the Main LCD screen in the centre isn't Emulatable Atm so a fair bit of info won't show as in Let Em spin, hi lo reel is lit, and find my treasures!! also some features rely on the text so its guess work on our part!! For the main "find my treasures" the logo will flash. Finally the Start / Collect button should spin the reels and collect the bank, but couldn't workout how to make a dual functioning button, so to get around this the Collect button is underneath. you can drag the button off-screen and press "C" to collect winnings.. if anybody knows how to make it dual buttons let us know via a topic? Here's 9 layouts for Super RED BAR, and I've lost count of the amount of GAM files and ROMs, along with my sanity! I've classed these as Hybrid DX, due to them being a mash-up of online art and my own decals and things. Too many versions to list. But the paytables are in the layout filenames (so for example RB_WOOD_1_2_4_8) would be £8 jackpot with a £1, £2, £4 and £8 paytable, running the WOOD ROMs (see 'important notes' below). Concept ROMs are fixed percentages and with this layout (and from now on) I'm listing the percentages in both the ROM name and GAM name. MAB £15 layout has variable percentages, instructions on how to change are included in a text file with that layout - percentages.txt Important notes : 1) The WOOD ROMs are for flat-top cabinets. These have full lamping of logo and paytable. Random lamps may flicker each spin. 2) The CASINO ROMs are for dome-top cabinets. The logo and paytables are permanently lit, as they would be on the real machine. 3) I believe these all to be fully working as released - but I'll be honest, I got a bit overwhelmed with it. There is having a nice variety, and then there is complete overkill which this is. As I've said before though, these were only really intended to be for my personal use, to fill my MFME cabinet up with lots of lo-tech stuff. Any issues at all don't hesitate to send me a personal message, reply to the release thread, or send a carrier pigeon. I would endeavour to fix any mistakes. Thanks : Thanks to @Wizard for the emulator, thanks to everyone who plays and enjoys my layouts, and thanks to those who don't play and can't stand them! Thanks to the anonymous ROM providers (you know who you are!), and also @loo and @vectra666 for the MAB ROMs from the Super Red BAR layout. Thanks to @Reg and everyone else here. As much as making this layout nearly tipped me over the edge, emulation and by extension this community does give me an escape which is far healthier than spending real money in arcades .

  30. On Red Hot Poker - £6.00 JP - the cards are pre scripted - even if you change your holds at certain points.... You can exit with no RAM save and reload - the next ten or so cards will be the same at certain times when it wants to give a win. The fun thing here though, is that cos its a poker game - if you hold different things - you can get different wins! So 2 pair instead of a straight for example, AWP's were just Donald Ducked back in the day. This trend even continued to the £35 era - I have the video screen lo-tech Bullseye dart game saved at a point where it will give a streak of between £95 and £140 within the next 10 credits. It can pay it in very slightly different ways - but its always there. I also like getting a game close to streak - and seeing the different ways it will play out.

  31. I have noticed before on a Double Cash layout that on a particularly RAM I had (and I would keep reverting to), that on the 4th spin it would always nudge for Bars with the Double Cash. I thought it might be a one off and never thought about it again. However, I now have a RAM for the new Twin Pot layout by DAD (thanks for that, love this era of Astra machines) that will always offer 4 nudges (next spin) and a hold on the first go. Hold reels 1 and 3 and it will nudge for the Twin Pot feature which will then go for £5 with a repeat of £3 and a further repeat of £6. Every time! It's as though it has preplanned the next 4 spins. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Maybe it is just the nature of compensated machines that something is triggered in the code and will therefore always be triggered? I've attached the GAM and RAM files if you'd like to try it for yourself. Twin Pot DX.gam Twin Pot DX.ram

  32. There's always a video, and a story Very much what's being described by BarXQueen, a near 'scripted' series of events from the same RAM reset position, that happened to me, (profitably!), on a real machine (Spoiler alert, the battery for the battery backed RAM had gone flat, so if you were the first person to play it every day, you got it from a RAM reset, when it had a few quid profit in it on a repeatable cycle.)

  33. It was quite common a long time back that AWPs would do the exact same thing from a particular RAM position, reset position being an example @Chopaholic did a video for (or mentioned in another video).

  34. The DX is deluxe and the phrase was coined by Gary when he did the first DX which was Viva Espana way back in 2001. Before the DX, we just called classic layouts, layouts. I guess after the DX, we had to call non DX's something, so classic became a term for them. I only do classics and they can take tens of hours to do, particularly if you put some real effort into them. But even I don't keep any of my classics in my main collection, I keep them separate from it. I'd also be happy to see a machine I've done a classic for, get a DX ASAP. Back in the day though, I guarantee you if you wanted to play FME, you would have had more classics than DX's. But nowadays we are so spoilt, we can be very choosy.

  39. I believe it's just £5 minimum for a year's subscription. There is a DONATE button on the main page.

  40. This is great. Another long lost gem. This must be one of the first fruit machines I played on when I was legally old enough. Thanks Vecs, plays great even though it's a bit of a piggy bank on the sly !

In memory of Chris J. Wren Thanks go to.. Wizard for MFME Geddy & Bugs for their classic (used as a base for this) Shortcuts included in the text file This was redrawn from the flyer by me in 2008 and has sat on an old hard drive since, a case of me being disillusioned by the fact that the more elements i had to redraw i felt no closer to where it should be. So i have decided to release it the way it was finished back then, probably a purists nightmare.. Take it for what it is.. Nick. **Update** Should be fixed now, knew i would cock it up.

  42. Cheers for the heads up - I did fix that before release but uploaded the wrong version! I'll sort it out once back home, won't be long (edit - 22/03/24 17:24) Version 1.1 uploaded. Genuinely a bit gutted about that, to be honest I'm very messy when I make layouts - multiple folders with multiple versions and then multiple versions within those folders. Zipped the wrong damn one up One issue it does raise is that I had no idea of the comments regarding the issue until a moment ago when I went to download the layout on my MFME cab downstairs, and noticed the 8 comments. I didn't realise I didn't get any kind of notifications for those? Perhaps it's because I wasn't tagged? But I get plenty of notifications for the 'release area' forum thread, just not for the replies under the file in the download section Many thanks to @Multi Retro Man and @BarXQueen for your efforts in solving it for people on the thread while I was oblivious to the issue

  43. Following on from the comment above from Multi Retro Man I think the X on reel 3 should be a Bar?

  44. It is a bit of a pain, especially for non-donors, but also I feel it encourages people to actually play each game and appreciate the work that goes into them. I used to download complete sets when I was into console and arcade emulation. Then actually play 0.01% or less of the sets I'd downloaded. I'd feel overwhelmed by the amount of content, have too much choice, and either stuck to what few games I knew, or just leave the lot. These days I'm way more disciplined, and find I actually play what I download rather than just grabbing everything because I can and then not using it.

  46. It's extremely upsetting It's not fair he doesn't get to see all the people he's made happy. My eyes are tearing up because I'm thinking about if he passed feeling like he wasn't done yet. He put all this effort into making MFME and he doesn't get to see all the happiness he's caused, it just isn't fair I hope in his final moments he felt complete, that he said to himself "There, I finished it. I'm ready to go", and then went to sleep with a smile on his face knowing he's made, and will continue to make, people happy. I hope he didn't feel like he wasn't ready. It's such a sad world. If anyone reads this who feels they're near the same fate, know you are loved. If you feel alone, know there's people out there who would gladly give you a big hug if they could.

I recently had the pleasure of diving into the captivating world of the Deal or No Deal slot machine, and let me tell you, it's an experience worth raving about. From its visually enticing layout to the immersive colors and sounds, every aspect of this game is designed to keep you on the edge of your seat. First and foremost, let's talk about the layout. It's sleek, intuitive, and incredibly easy to navigate. I found myself effortlessly exploring the various features and options without any confusion, which is a big plus in my book. Now, let's discuss the colors and sounds. Wow! They truly elevate the gaming experience to a whole new level. The vibrant colors pop off the screen, creating an atmosphere that's both lively and engaging. And the sounds? They're nothing short of electrifying. From the cheerful jingles to the suspenseful music, every sound effect is perfectly crafted to keep you hooked from start to finish. As for gameplay, I must say, it plays like a dream. I've been exploring all the features, from the thrilling bonus rounds to the nail-biting decision-making moments, and I haven't been disappointed. Sure, I'm still chasing that elusive £70 jackpot, but I'm having an absolute blast in the process. And you know what they say, it's not just about the destination, it's about the journey—and this journey is one heck of a ride. In fact, I've been having so much fun with the game that even my significant other has gotten in on the action. We've been enjoying friendly competitions, each trying to outdo the other with our £5 bets. It's become a delightful pastime for us, and I can't thank the creators of this game enough for providing such exhilarating entertainment. Dreflex

  47. So many of us first got into MFME in the very early 2000s - I was definitely still at school at the time, and my friend couldn't believe it when I show him how to get his favourite machine (JPM Rollercoaster) running at home. I think that was probably one of the early releases of JPeMu (by DialTone, not Wizard), or possibly an early MFMe with JPM support. I'd been using his pre-MFME emulator (MPU34) for at least a year or so before that released. That would make it 2001 at the absolutely latest when I discovered it, but I feel it might have been 2000? I'd like to think that many of us would have expressed our gratitude during that time, although obviously I (and I'm sure many others) wish I'd shown him just how much it mattered. Hopefully the fact so many communities like this sprang up (and yes, a few did fall by the wayside) where people discussed his emulator means he was aware of how much people appreciated his work
